The ONLY new song I have listened to in the past year is "Lights" by Ellie Goulding.

Super chill track. I recommend everyone to listen to this, or you will be missing out.

Now onto some new stuff that came out not too long ago.



This one is pretty sweet, more towards the Drumstep side of the spectrum, which the drum kit sounds live too so +1 for the quality :P.


For those who like remixes done proper. Flinch also several other remixes of this same song on his Light It Up remix EP, like one is more House, another has a trance feel.. good stuff.


To whoever hating dubstep/electronic music and the last song you heard was "Lights". If im right, im sure your talking about the one Bassnectar remixed, if you hate on him im sure he will find you and roundhouse you in the face then proceed to choke you out with his really long hair. :lol:

Klaypex is my favourite. The main thing I hate about skrillex however is his "religious" followers. "Skrillex is the only correct number one and if you don't agree then you're wrong, this is not opinion it's fact". Sounds a lot like my religious friends. :banghead:

Yeah I agree, I don't really like much of Skrillex' stuff. Perhaps my favourite song is My name is Skrillex (cut out the beginning and the rest of the song is pretty cool) The rest is just too overmade.....that's the only way I can describe it really. There's too much going on. Although I have to say he is incredible live.

However I'm not sure I'm too keen on Klaypex

I like mostly Skrillex's old stuff, but its not like his sound has changed much over the years. The one thing about Dubstep artists who sign with UKF is their songs are quality and have good samples/composition, but unlike the underground sound.... its on every 14 year olds ipod in 128kbps. lol

Yeah. Zedd made a track for Justin Bieber, With Nicki Minaj, 2 of the most overrated artists EVER, but it actually sounds pretty damn good.
Mostly because of Zedd. If the right artists are behind it, it'll sound good.

Also, for all you Skrillex fans, "Lick it Down" is now "Scary Bolly Dub" and will be out soon.

I've also recently came across another genre that's looking to pick up; it's roots are older than that of dubstep but the going from one to the other is very natural. Check out some songs in this thread. Enjoy :sly:
 
Oooh, you can't really say roots of dubstep. It came from UK garage, which came from house and hiphop/oldschool jungle, and so on and so far until you get to Musique concrète and Elektronische Musik in the 50's. But same goes for hip hop I suppose.
