I have created a GT Planet club: https://racenet.com/ea_sports_wrc/clubs/155

It's friends only so you will have to friend me on EA. My ID is Pfei11.

It seems they have done away with moderated clubs so unfortunately everyone will have to friend me to get in.

I'll open a thread for it soon.

Friendage requested.

If anyone wants to add me for leaderboards and random racing then I’m magpieracer on there as well.

Looks great, sent you both friend requests 👍 Looking forward to getting stuck in with the leagues!

Just bought the fanatec shifter for this game…really hoping it delivers. Used it on wrc10 and love the shifting experience. Got rid of my stick shift car 4yrs ago so its nice to play with

Still haven't seen anything about TrueForce™...
Could do with knowing more about this for Xbox, enjoy it in DR2.0

Is there any console footage yet?

Can we still pre-order after the first day of the early-access we get from EA Play's 5 hour trial via Game Pass Ultimate, or does it have to be ordered before then, if there's a cut-off date/time?

No console footage yet, we will likely have to wait until the review embargo is lifted before we see any. Can make a rough guess as to its target FPS and res based on the Xbox store page.

In the disclaimer for the pre-order, it seems that the offer expires on 1st November. So you'll have to pre-order before release or buy during the 31st October to get the early access and pre-order bonuses. So I guess you could use the EA Play trial on the 31st and then buy if you like it?

And the EA Play bit: https://www.ea.com/en-gb/games/ea-sports-wrc/wrc/ea-play

EDIT: Actually I'm not sure now, I didn't see it said November 1st 2024 to redeem by so I don't actually know.

Excellent video but once again (as with the young lady racing driver in Forza's driving school videos) it's a shame they can't give Abbie a motion rig and steering wheel instead of a controller. Guess they were setting her up to get used to the RC car.

Just realised that I'm away at on holiday next week, gutted. Gonna miss the first few days of this, the game I'm looking forward to more than any other for years, being out, but look forward to seeing what you guys think of it. Actually, haven't decided whether to get it on Xbox or PS5 anyway so maybe a good thing.

I'll have plenty of time to play it when I inevitably get horribly ill at Centre Parcs as usual after spending the first few days in the pool swallowing chlorine. So there's that.

So with everyone all pre-loaded and painfully looking at WRC icon on our Desktop/Console wouldn't it be a shame for @PJTierney to visit the Office and accidentally lean on the "Release" button? 🤞

Exactly, and it’s meant for Abbie’s audience more than ours. Lots of them may not have played a serious rally game before, and this is a good way to show you don’t need an expensive rig to have fun.
I wish you didn't have to read the comments on that video. It's probably one of the not so fun parts of your job.

Apparently a bunch of gatekeepers think that using a controller proves the game is dumbed down for console kiddies.

I'm not one of them and was thinking of Abbie but I'm glad she was a good sport about the whole thing. It's always good to get another perspective from behind the scenes though.

Ogier on board at the new rally, can't wait to see these added to the game

I wish we had those little arrow signs at junctions in the game. I kept making wrong turnings in DiRT Rally 2.0 despite the pace notes. Hopefully Regularity Rally mode will help me get more used to the stages before each championship.

I think those gatekeepers also forget that controllers are the majority peripheral, and probably by a huge margin as well.

BTW, @PJTierney, I noticed that the official clubs, which I entered, created the first championships........and you tested them  the last preparations, I suppose :sly:
You joke but I did actually have to drive those (rather poor) runs this morning for work.

I am working on the How To guide for Clubs and needed to see what the results options looked like on Racenet.

You can go there right now and watch my crappy no practice driving.

Funnily enough I know of one Konami release that actually launched early on Steam this way.

Wouldn’t be the first WRC game I’d have got very early. I got my copy of Milestones first WRC game in 2010 about 2 weeks early in my local ASDA. They clearly had the game delivered and just threw it on the shelf.

I googled Racenet to take a look and ended up on an Australian horseracing site.

When I realised my mistake I checked out the official clubs as well as joining @Pfei's. Those little cartoon analysis videos are really cool.

I'd've thought that rather than just hitting a button you had to press UUDDLRLRBA <start> to release the game over there.
