Yep, see Dakar Desert Rally's handling of the new US map particularly the Yellowstone one with all the trees and greenery, if you want to give yourself a migraine. Sand dunes are obviously a bit easier on the old frame rate.
I checked it out on YouTube. The co-driver calls by Trailer Voice Man gave me a bit of a migraine.

On super high end difficulty the AI seem overly fast on the ice parts for me. I can keep up and compete on the tarmac but as soon as it hits ice its tough to keep up on 95-100 difficulty.
I'm running 80 and it seems good on other locations where a good run will get me top spot but just barely. Suddenly winning by a minute seems very odd. Going to keep an eye on it, hopefully its not the AI bug surfacing again in one way or another.

Finally completed my first career season and (like a few others here) also failed the the FWD extreme benefactor request. Although in my case it was a case of not reading the fine print as I had plumped for a Kit car for that championship and not the H2 class that Maxy specifically requested. So I ended up a arrow/segment short of the "delighted" space which I assume stopped my advance to WRC2, as both requests for season 2 were for the Junior WRC again (albeit more demanding).

I also have the joy of the H1 Regularity championship as one of the main requests; it wasn't as bad I feared, although I'm only playing on medium length and so there's only 3 stages to do for each round. It's not much slower then a regular rally event either, at least in those machines (stage 2 was 8 miles and I still completed it in under 15 minutes).

Its the opposite for me, I can run +95% comfortably everywhere else, Even on the all tarmac Monte stages I can compete, high difficulty AI on Ice is impossible to keep up with though.

Did a rally in Sweden and it was perfect again. Weird.

One other thing I noticed how the game on PS5 looks a lot better when using an outside cameraview rather than one on the inside..
It does add to my enjoyment as the graphics are now tolerable but still a bummer as I want to use the in car camera.

So many little things about this game that are annoying but I will admit I'm enjoying it now more than before. The AI finally being a challenge (most of the time) is very important to me and as I play more I get a bit more feeling for the tuning of the cars so you get them to behave how you want.

Impressive how close it is to the in game representation. Probably the Monte Stage I've driven the most in game too as it seems a favourite for Moments as loads of the seem to use this stage.

Just about the only difference is how the driver doesn't fly off track every time the boost activates.

I think there were complaints about the supposedly outdated font CM used for the car speed earlier in the thread so it's instructive to see how close to the real life presentation they got.

What font were they complaining about? I was just talking about the stage. SS3 is in the game and looks impressively close to the real life version.

The WRC typeface was supplied directly by WRC.

Historic cars, that’s up to creative interpretation and not tied to WRC license.

My bad. I read the post wrong. They were talking about Seb Loeb Rally.

Oh I see, My fault. I should have been more clear in what I was referring to 👍
No, no, it's my fault as I'd read the previous post wrongly, not yours. 👍🏽

Did a one rally custom championship at Monte Carlo again and I'm still finding I'm way faster on ice. In the split times you can see exactly where the ice begins as I'm suddenly about 10s faster per split. 80 difficulty seems perfect in all other circumstances. Nobody else experiencing this?

Maybe you're just like Senna, but when it's really cold.

Great idea starting a fresh wrc2 career after the update with a rear wheel builder car, no restarts and hardcore damage just as a little added frustration. Do love a challenge me.

Hi @PJTierney

I have a little question for you.

The game physics on wet tarmac are completely unrealistic, you can brake basically on same spot as on dry surface and car has way more grip/no acuaplaning.

Is this a know issue? Are the dev team working on it / aware of it?

Thanks in advance, see you around

Best bet is to search the EA support forums and if there isn’t already a thread, make one and provide video evidence or RaceNet telemetry comparisons.
Will have a look at the support forums for sure, meanwhile I did look on YouTube, and I have seen one that also talks about wet tarmac issues..
I just thought found to much grip and brake points as on dry…
This guy goes even flat out with dry weather slick medium tyres on wet..

On nearly the end of the video you can see it , quite something to make devs aware and investigate it;

Nearing the end of the season and I'm still only on level 15 on the rally pass.
I only have maybe 5 hours a week to put into the game.
Anyone have any tips for levelling up?
Even if I crash now I still try finish every event for the sake of time/xp. It's all I think about in the game now.. I'm up to date with all the moments and they're not giving enough xp. I'm starting to lose hope of getting those liveries for level 19 and 20. Seems the balance is fairly off for the rally pass, like you need to play the game an extremely heavy amount to get through it in time. Or maybe there's something I'm missing?

At the end of last season I just did championship mode with short (2 round) events, it seemed to get the XP relatively quickly though I don't know if that's the best way

Got 11 more days to try figure it out! Surprised there isn't some guide somewhere to farm xp the most efficient way yet.

Have to admit, I don't like the rally pass at all. Seems like a necessary evil to have some degree of MTX but I wish it could be dropped, or at very least eased up on so its more attainable without spending literally dozens of hours driving.
A gran turismo style livery editor instead with user made SVG decals would be amazing for me. Livery sharing too. It would give the game so much more longevity. Instead all I can do is fret about xp to try get a livery in time!

It's not really MTX in the traditional sense. XP seems mostly tied to stage lengths and such so the more you drive the more XP you get. Boxing off moments you haven't done it's worth 400 a time for gold.

I think I must just play too much, both the passes so far I've hit level 20 with over a week to spare.

Had a great time with WRC yesterday. I wasnt initially a fan of the handling compared to DR2 but if you put some time and effort into the setups you can make most cars handle the way you want. Finally got the Sierra Cosworth nice and slidey and at the same time manageable and predictable.

Then I started a custom championship in Chili which is a fun rally. Havent gotten the AI dialled in perfectly yet, I was a bit too fast but hardcore damage was on and I damaged the radiator grill which caused the engine to slowly damage. I also did my first 34.5km endurance stage (a bit too long to be honest), but feeling the engine slowly give out and praying for it to make the finish was really cool.

I also forgot to change the tyres at one point so I was struggling to keep it on the road. Still won by a bit of a margin so will up the difficulty next time. Good times though.

I wonder is this game will have yearly based releases like F1 titles or it will be supported for longer? The lack of year number after title suggest we won’t get new WRC game this year?

No one really knows. There have been hints it could be supported as a single title for a couple years (similar to EA SPORTS PGA Tour) but nothing concrete.

For what it's worth, WRC games have never been named after the year. Each developer has always started with WRC, then gone 2, 3 etc. Except for KT Racing who started at 5, continuing on from Milestone who got to 4. So to me the lack of a year after the title doesn't suggest anything.

Personally I'd like to see them support this game through 2024, make it as good as it can be this year, add the 2024 content as an update and then release a new game for the 2025 season.
