*EASY* things for PD to implement in GT5

- Traction control / rev limiter on grass. I would like to turn this off. If TC is off, (optional or enforced in online lobby), so should the rev limiter be disabled when on the grass.

There's no way to turn off the rev limiter when on the pavement, why would it go away on the grass? Not sure what you mean by that.

But the magically appearing TC on the grass should go, you're right. If it's off it should be off, not "off on pavement and some off-road areas and not in others." It even causes accidents due to it instantly coming on and off as you transition between surfaces.
There is no "magical traction control" going on when you go on the grass or run off areas. The wheels not being able to spin is not the result of any traction control, but rather, the grass or gravel pits which physically prevent the wheels from moving. That's why you'll find run off areas on race tracks, so that if a car suddenly goes off the track, they will slow down (hopefully enough) thanks to gravel pits to prevent any further damage.

lol Some of these things were present in gt4 like:Change from aspec to bspec in pit stop, see the ai tire selection and quick car change in replays.

Good stuff in that list, makes me wish we could get them all. Lots of them really are easily doable and it's a shame we don't have them.

My personal opinion is that PD seems to be a company which decides for us how customers should play their game. When looking at the list I get the picture they keep lots of options disabled on purpose while they should be just that. Options. Lack of options seems to be the current trend in pretty much everywhere.

The one option I'd like the most is setting up custom single player races. It gets pretty boring when you always have to start at the same position and can't decide what cars you're up against or which tyres they run with.

Give me more options, I want to decide how I play the game, I know best!

- Make a street car restriction for online lobbies

THIS^ Now really..... "How hard can it be?"
There rule is there in seasonal events, the cars are tagged.
Every bloody day for the past 1 and half year i have to write "ROAD CARS ONLY" (sorry for the caps) in the lobby title and kick people out after multiple warnings for using race cars.
For me this option is my top priority.

To clarify...

On the grass, particularly, I should be able to light-up my tyres, particularly on a rear-wheel drive car. There is something restricting the power to the wheels and preventing this. It can be seen on the throttle bar. This artificial power restriction is also present when in gravel.

Grass on any track in particular? If I recall correctly, I am able to spin the rear wheels on grass, but barely on gravel.

- Full control over the headlights.

Night/dusk racing without headlights on, and day driving with the headlights on for Photo Mode.

- Ability to change the volume of the sound effects and music during replays

- Ability to use Standard cars in Photo Travel

Possibly, but doubtful and not necessary,

- have a low/medium/fast setting for the windshield wipers.
To add onto that,

- Ability to have control over the gauge lights

Adding options like this in the Pause menu's settings would be perfect.

Some "easy" fixes for Gran Turismo 5:

Optional qualifying before the race (3-5 lap sprint or 1-2 if on Nurburgring or Le Mans) so you could improve your grid position. I believe some of the earlier Gran Turismos featured this, so I don't know why this hasn't been included in this edition of Gran Turismo.

I would also like for there to be an option where you could re name some of your cars if you have more than two. For example you could have "Race Honda Civic" or "Street Honda Civic".

As for the track creator I would love to have some more freedom when designing the track, for example having a control over the layout of the circuit rather than having to generate random layouts. It would be really cool to build replicas of real life circuits which are not currently in GT5.

I would also like for them to add a dyno run section in the tuning section as I think that would be a pretty neat feature.

Red.

I think adding Tsukuba short would be easy. All PD has to do is remove the invisible barrier. It would also be nice to choose the look of the exhaust of the car and adjust the exhaust angle.

Here's an easy implementation that may or may not have been mentioned before: stack the paints in the items list! There's no need to have 8 different entries of one black paint. For Pete's sake who thought this up?

Just have one black paint entry with a count of 8 items in the entry.

Old post, but as a trader, this drives me craaaazy!

Another really easy thing PD could implement is that nifty RWD Scion... (wait a minute :sly:)

Personally would have preferred the Scoobie Brrrz (:dopey:) since it looks a little different and has different suspension tuning. (Scion may be free so it's alright.)

On a more serious note, what happened to 900 degree steering animations?

Maybe there could be an option to remove driver arms (ala Rigs of Rods and other sims) and the wheel exactly mimics your actual wheel controller. Or they could bring back the GT4/Spec 1 GT5P arm animations. (Better than nothing I suppose?)

On a less easy thing to implement, I'd imagine PD are hard at work modeling more premiums for GT6 and beyond too. Maybe they could be made available as GT5 DLC in the meantime. They could release them with seasonals like how the Scirocco R is perfect for the current 430PP FF. Granted, they should be fair to not disadvantage those who don't buy DLC. (e.g. Can tune existing cars to perform as well as, if not better, for the event.)

Alternatively, maybe implement an offline brand new standard dealership like GTPSP that shuffles so that it's easier to access more standards. (Randomised unlike the 'themed' OCD.)
(It might kill P2P trading though.)

coolboy wins! haha.

Man. We really need a solid way of accessing all of the standard cars in this game. Countless hours of life are being wasted by constantly checking the UCD to see if there's anything good in there.

Maybe a Used section in every dealership? Of course, they would have to make dealerships for every brand, but how difficult is that? If we have earned the money, we should at least be able to get the cars we want. Why do they want us wasting all of that time searching and checking? Shouldn't we be driving and racing? Tuning and painting? Driftin and a skankin?

I and I dunna like ah no UCD random bumbaclot!

Option to turn off autosave and add "save button" in GT Life menu.

Like this: link.

Exactly. Not to mention that that disabling autosave would significantly reduce load times in menus. And GT4 already had this exact option. (BTW, there already is a save button on the main menu)

Way back in GT2, different manufacturers had their own used car lot. That would be cool to get back for every manufacturer instead of the giant used car lot we have with limited spots.

I don't remember if this was in GT3 or GT4, but there was a notification of when a car drove into the pits. That can come back by highlighting the driver's name a certain color of some sort.

You can easily do this one! Use the older GT games soundtracks as your custom one.

I do this from time to time. The garage music from older GTs is so relaxing. :)

Oh, I forgot about custom soundtrack! Thanks, I will do this!:)

For online lobby make a restriction on max AERO (in numbers) setting allowed (for race cars) and AERO on/off (for road cars with or without wings.

Restriction for numbers should be overall or for each side of the car.

Alright just seen this for the first time and a lot of the "easy" things you guys have listed here are far from easy and require writing a whole new code. Easy would be just changing something from folder to folder like changing engine sounds, horns or wheel selection. But 900 degree animation, individual FFB settings for each car, flag system? Yes they are all improvements but far from easy.

i'll take the engine sounds then :)

The racing exhaust should sound like a loud roar, not a fart cannon. For example, the racing exhaust on my '66 Shelby Cobra roars but the one on my ZR-1 Corvette sounds like poopy.

They also need some different classic, LMP, etc, cars, instead of having like ten variations of a Nissan Skyline. No offense, but they left out a lot of good classic cars, and there are more cars than just what exists in Japan.

I think it would also be cool if they allowed you to have snow on the tracks, like you could in Project Gotham 4. I want to race the Nurb in a blizzard.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before or if it's easy, but I would love for all races to have a choice between standing start and rolling. Why this wasn't part of the original set up I don't know.

I'd love if they make all wheels of all RM and TC cars available for the rest of the cars.

Also a very simple livery editor for RM and TC cars would be cool.
