Personally, I think its really ugly. I'm not a fan at all. And the name is stupid, though I guess they ran out of founders to name it after.

I like the name. I even proposed "Il Ferrari" as a name earlier in this thread. Forgot that cars are female in Italy.
And I really like the looks of it, will be cool to see it with wings deployed.

This car ain't got no alibi! She Ugly.

On looks, I prefer that Lambo thing, or the P1. It is however better looking the Pagani Whoareya.

Impressive looking performance though from Le Ferrari.

The styling isn't bad, but it isnt' my cup of tea. I'd rather have the 918, P1 or Huayra. And the name is terrible, I'd just as well refer to it as the F70.

Well F150 is it's codename, so if they went with traditional naming then it probably would've been called that.

The narrator in the videos RocZX posted even refers to it as "F150" a couple times.

Btw, I liked the look of the car a lot on track in that one unveiling video, but now that I get a better look at it, I'm starting to slowly not like it. The front just doesn't agree with the back imo. I like both independently. But the rear still does look a little baffled up for some reason.

I do love how this car has so much F1 in it as they always try to do with their special flagship cars, but this one seems to have more than those before it.

But I don't really like the P1 much more. It's does look better imo, but I still don't think it's nearly as inspiring as the Mac F1, just looks cool. It's gonna be really interesting seeing the battle between these two huge projects play out. Funny how people are so quick to jump to their sides of the war already.

If I had the money and access... I don't know which I'd rather have D:

5 seconds faster around Fiorano is extremely impressive, if it is leaps and bounds quicker, I may start leaning towards the TheFerrari.

I've had a look at some pictures of the P1 and F150 side by side, and I have to say, I prefer the way the P1 looks (nothing to do with McLaren being British and there 'factory' being about 10 minutes from my house ;)).

From this angle, the F150 looks a bit of a porker...

Funny thing is I'm also abit mixed the P1. So both it and this car are to me ok. They aren't perilessly ugly to me but in comparison to the 458 and the MP4-12C, I can't help but feel both could've been better.

i think a large part of what makes it ugly is the black top. Can any of the photoshop wizards do something about it, the way they improved P1 by painting it in gulf colors?

You know, the Alfa 4C has same problem, a huge area with no detail or styling whatsoever.

Yes, it always a difficult area to get right on a mid engined car 👍

Doubly difficult in the Ferrari as it has a massive V12.

This forum suffers from new car hatism. Most new cars a portion of the population just detest it, at first.

But then slowly begin to love it, over time. "It grew on me..." says some. lol

When Ferrari release a new halo car it's bound to get a fair amount of positive and negative comments as everyone has an idea of how their perfect, money no object' car should look... bit different to a £30k family car I guess.

I like it in most of those shots you posted above... except the 1st one... the body work from half way down the door to the rear...just looks a bit cumbersome. From that angle it makes the car look like it has 2" smaller diameter wheels at the back. You don't notice it so much in the rear 3/4 profiles shots (pics 2 & 3).

The nose in profile looks good to me :)

New car hatism? How about the other side of the coin, Ferrari fanboyism. That's a bigger problem.

There's no escaping poor design and this car is a glaring example of it. It's a disgusting mishmash of Formula One cues, retro Ferrari cues, and modern Ferrari cues. At the front we've got a pointy F1 nose held up by a table leg on a boomerang with 458 headlights. At the rear we've got some sort of tunnel/bar/tube/thing strung between gigantic round taillights, held up by another table leg which would descent straight down to nowhere if it weren't cut in half by a license plate. And a rear fog light straight on an F1 car which just looks boy racerish. Don't forget the rear wheels which are actually large but appear tiny because the rear haunches of the car are seriously bulbous and bland.

Then you've got the McLaren P1 which is as smooth as a stone shaped by a gently flowing stream. It's complex but organic. Kind of like the Mazda Furai which we all agree was a stunning piece of wind-swept design.

The more I see of this car, the more I come to believe that it's really, really hideous. Ferrari used to make some of the prettiest cars in the world, what happened?

This LeFerrari thing. They should name the successor to this TehFerrari.

What's up with the 458 looking headlights? Haven't we seen enough of them already, on two other Ferraris.

And the side mirrors, boy do they stick out. Thought this was a Ferrari, not Pagani?

Only thing that looks decent is the back half. Love that long panel gap stretching from one side to the other. Kinda like the F40, with that line going all around the car.

The front just looks all messed up. The vents on the hood looks out of place, like it doesn't flow with the rest of the car.

Also, I think someone has said earlier, the wheel are just a little small for the car.

Edit: Oh, and that upside down limousine spoiler stuck at the front intake. I know they're just trying to match the vertical line at the back but its really not working at the front.

Thank you both, you said exactly what I would have said, Kenny if I wanted to go easy on this thing, and Keef if I really wanted to say what I wanted to say. The thing is hideous.

Also the name. Omg the name. I can't stress it enough... TEH NAME...

What a perfect way to describe the P1 :)

Nicer in a less garish colour than the yellow one they have in Geneva.

I think changing the roof to body color would only accentuate the rear bulk. Personally, I don't see a problem. I think it's an illusion created by the slim greenhouse and the red paint, which doesn't show off contours in that light. In some of the detail shots, you see a lot of intersecting compound curves and arches in that area... something that gets washed out in the light.

It's not "new car hatism", just "new Ferrari hatism". Keef's attempt to draw attention to the fanboys doesn't hold any validity considering that just about every new Ferrari thread that has been posted on this forum, was met with the same comments this car has; "It's ugly", "It's hideous", "Ferrari can't do anything", etc. etc.

Give it 6 months when people have a chance to see it in the streets or in person. Ferraris of the last decade have always looked better in the flesh; 599, California, FF, etc. All met with criticism initially yet more positive comments once people saw them.

The other thing to remember is that this is still a Ferrari, so it's going to have a unique driving feel all its own just as the 458, FF, 599, again did.

Going by your previous post and this one its seams pretty clear that you are the one who suffers from fanboyism! A lot of people think the P1 is "ugly", I dont as i like it but its design is not as flowing like you try to paint, It looks awkward. Your post are giving off some kind of inexpicable butthurt!.

The wheels are a pretty lame effort imo, Rather disappointing, The car looks great though.

Also the name. Omg the name. I can't stress it enough... TEH NAME...

Explain what is wrong with the name please, i'd really like to know, i dont think its a great name by any means but there is nothing wrong with the name in its self, Im sure you and many others can explain whats stupid about it, The name to clearly indicates that they are trying to portay this ferrari as the ferrari of all ferrari's.

The guy with a Ferrari as his profile picture is accusing Keef of fanboyism. Nice.

The fact that you don't see what is wrong with the name Ferrari Le Ferrari really does say a lot about your bias here...

Is your name James Jameson by any chance?

Pics are out of this world, just like the car itself...

Still... that name... :ouch: THAT. NAME.

Peach_Facepalm_by_Finalsmasher.jpg

I mean... you are FERRARI, you are masters at giving names to your cars!!!!!!

:guilty:

If that car could speak, I think it would be like "Why... dear sweet God... WHY???"

👎

It does look pretty modern, though I'd prefer something more flowing, more... organic than this. The mirrors are a bit off and I honestly don't like the front bumper nor the 'hips'. Still looks pretty hypercar'ish which I believe was what they were intending to do.

The name is stupidly bland. There are thousands of evocative italian town names, provinces and symbols of power and prestige that calling your car just LaFerrari is an immense lack of creativity.

Will people praise when Opel release their new family sedan, the Opel derOpel? Or the Seat ElSeat?

I'm voting for Ferrari Berlusconi. That'd be badass and probably do illegal but fun stuff.

Name is stupid, but the car is nice. Needs to not be so point in the front but other than that I like it.

Perhaps they ran out of dead people to name the car after.

And if all cars in Italy are female, whysit (the F60, I mean) called the "Enzo"? That would mean there are tens of thousands of little boys around the world running around in Ferrari baseball caps with a girl's name.

Personally, I'd have called it the Luca.

You know, he lives on the second floor.

...

I retract my statement about how this couldn't look worse than the Enzo. Good god.

The exclamation points made me read this post like Matlock attacking a witness on the stand.
