I'm more of an F40 fan to be fair, but the F50 does more for me than the Enzo ever could.

Even from that new teaser shot, I can tell it's a step above the Enzo in terms of looks.

Remember, this is the same person who "always thought (the Big Aston) looked daft," so he's clearly off some important medicine or something.

:P

Fair enough. I guess I owe an explanation. I think the Vantage looks daft because it's about as seventies as an afro and a pair of bell-bottomed glittering pants. To put it in more automotive terms, it's the Mustang Mach I of European GTs. It's an ungainly shape that dated quicker than disco.

Quite a feat, considering it came nearly twenty years after it.

The Enzo is ugly. No two ways about it. But it's cohesively and comprehensively ugly. Utilitarian ugly. Everything matches. Viewed as a whole, the Enzo makes sense. The F50 doesn't. It takes the back half of a reasonably handsome car and mates it to the front end of something that wants to be a Formula One car when it finishes with its bout of bomex-itis. It tries and utterly fails to look anything like a Formula car for the road. Instead, it looks like an F40 with pig's nostrils.

If either car were released by another company with less "heritage", they'd be roundly panned, and rightfully so. As it is, there are many who don't like either.

That said, I did collect a lot of Vantages in GT4. Why? Specifically because it was brutishly ugly. I loved the way it looked.

The F50? Not so much.

I would've picked the Enzo over the F50, but after thinking about it, I think I dislike both of them equally...

Although I agree that it isn't very pretty in a conventional sense (even though I kinda like it), I have to say it's a massive improvement compared to the car it's based on, the Virage.
Now that's a car time hasn't been kind to.

That looks really promising to be honest. Quite optimistic to see the end product.

I liked the F50 and the Enzo. They're both great looking (and sounding cars). The F50, I admit, looks more outdated than any other supercar I can think of. The F70 reminds me of the Corvette DP.

Judging by the video and the non-rendered pictures, the masking gives a P4/5 look, the masked front looks like a 458, thank god there is no retarded lattice-work rear window, I expect automated wing(s), but the pic does look uncomfortably close to the Corvette DP.

Imagine a Ferrari DP car....oh god.

Lol people are talking down on the ferrari people like clarkson said was too fast. Meh.
The f50 was a hyper f40. Not pretty like the 355, 360, or 430 but insanely tight and precise. I am sure any feature ferrari pit in the car is there for a good reason. Then again I bought a hatch impreza so obviously my sense of beauty is a little whacky lol.

There is no doubt the F50 was fast and keen. If you didn't have to look at it, it would probably stand out as the best Ferrari ever made. Of course, if you didn't have to look at the car, you could say the same thing about the Enzo.

Of course, I'm merely talking about design. From a design point of view, the F50 was not a great success. Any aesthetic allure it has is merely because of its place in history and the badge upon its pointy snout.

People have roundly trashed the styling of similar looking cars simply because they aren't Ferraris. Why should the F50 be exempt?

I think the F50 look bland, but I can´t call it ugly. And I always loved the Enzo. I like things that look functional. Like the Mazda Furai, or the Macca P1. Lovely piece of work that. I even like the Gumpert Apollo.

Hopefully the F70 looks the part too. If it has any resemblance to the F12, I´ll be happy.

The ferrari F50 was the first Ferrari i ever knew about, maybe thats why it holds such a big place in my heart over the others. Now looking at it it is quite ugly but only compared to some of the most beautiful cars in the world. I hope the F70 will use the stylings of f40,f50, and 458.

Totally agree with niky here, fully.

I've got to be honest, I don't like any of them (except the Impreza ).
I loved the 355 when I was a kid, but always thought the 360 and 430 look horrible. The 360 looks like a kit car gone wrong to me and the proportions of the details on the 430 look wrong (like the way too small taillights).

It looks like a combination of the P4/5 and the Italia. Ferrari P458? Still this is a very good looking car, especially compared to the Enzo and F50. And IMO it is a lot better looking than the McLaren P1 (though I like that too).

Yea, the P1 is ugly, imo.

Looks beautifal but, I don't think it's better looking than the P1 but, I will wait for the actual car to be revealed before I make a final decision.

So, the rear end has even more extreme G-string design from the F12 Berlinetta? I approve.

Mechanically, it will be without any question a complete masterpice... on the exterior , however... I don't really like how it looks as for now (like most of the lastest Ferrari models) :nervous:... expecting the final model to make a final statement... 👍
