I really hope the wheelbase is shorter. The Enzo I think we a bit too long.
 
That rear end shot, have they taken a design cue from James Glickenhaus' P4/5 design? It looks incredible!
 
Compared to what, a porsche, a prius? Enzo had shorter wheelbase than c6, m3, 599, f12, McLaren f1.

Maybe not the wheelbase then. Just a shorter overall length.

Architecture
A working group of F1 and GT engineers has been focused on the chassis for more than three years, availing itself of the contribution of Rory Byrne, who helped win 11 world titles in his role as the Scuderia’s Chief Designer. To achieve maximum efficiency and minimum weight, the carbon-fibre monocoque will be built in-house in Ferrari’s F1 composites department using materials, design methodologies, construction processes and instruments used to produce the single-seaters. Key to the chassis performance characteristics is the use of four different types of carbon-fibre which are hand-laminated then cured in autoclaves following engineering processes which optimise the design by integrating the different components. The result is torsional rigidity has increased by 27 per cent and beam stiffness by 22 per cent compared to the Enzo Ferrari.
The space beneath the bodywork has been cleverly utilised in order to house the complex mechanical units and to perfect the internal fluid dynamics. The positioning of the batteries and fuel tank assembly is key to this – just like on an F1 car, they are located in the safest, most protected part of the car and are set very low, just behind the driver’s back, to reduce the overall centre of gravity.
This was one of the key targets for the new car, along with a reduction in height and wheelbase to match that of the 458 Italia, despite featuring a V12 HY-KERS engine and dual-clutch gearbox.

Driving seat and position
In order to rationalise interior space, the cockpit, and consequently the entire vehicle, is built around the driver, making the most of Ferrari’s experience, both in functionality and ergonomics. Hence the decision to adopt a fixed seat, which will be made to measure (as it is in an F1 car), with an adjustable pedal box and steering wheel. The inclination of the backrest, and the fact that the occupant’s feet are at the same level as the driving position, gives an extraordinarily racy feeling and achieves a considerably lower centre of gravity.

Engine and kinetic energy
The F150 will be powered by a development of the 740 CV 6.3-litre V12 introduced in the new F12berlinetta, along with the latest evolution of Ferrari’s HY-KERS electric hybrid system unveiled at the Geneva Show in 2010. The HY-KERS system is a performance enhancer, as well as a tool in the battle to lower emissions. In fact, it is estimated that that the system shaves 10 per cent off the car’s 0-200 km/h time,while cutting emissions by an impressive 40 per cent, while also enhancing a torque vectoring system, traction control and brake force distribution as it is fully integrated with Ferrari’s already phenomenal chassis electronics. Under braking, the KERS directs the kinetic energy to charge the batteries.
The choice of battery size and weight is a fundamental factor in this type of technology. The amount of electric power that can be used, and how it is used on a car with these characteristics, are decisions that are made with an eye to performance, given the car’s natural vocation. However, a balance must be struck between the requirement for a battery that is not too heavy and the need for the supply of sufficient energy required for electric propulsion. The electric motor/ancillaries/battery unit has a weight-to-power ratio of one, a figure in line with F1 in terms of efficiency, thus further improving the car’s overall weight-to-power ratio.

So why is Ferrari wanting to get sued by Ford again? Naming their F1 car F150 didn't work why the hell would they think it would work with an actual road car.

Eh? Most KERS systems contain batteries. All of the KERS systems currently used in F1 have batteries to store energy.
Was the F40 the only turbo charged engine ferrari made.
The 288 GTO was turbocharged. They also ran turbocharged cars in F1 during the 80s. Not much of a history though.
 
KERS is just a general tag for hybrid assist, either using batteries, capacitors or hydraulic storage.

It's just a sexy name for something the Prius has had for decades.
 
KERS = Kinetic Energy Recovery System. It uses the energy achieved under braking and releases it on demand, stored either electrically or mechanically. A common hybrid tech solution. Not used in the Prius AFAIK. It has batteries that run an electric motor. These batteries has to be charged via an electric outlet, hence they are called 'plug-in hybrids'. Then we have 'full hybrids', like the Fisker Karma, whom has a small petrol engine whose only purpose is to charge the batteries for the electric motors wich propel the car.
The Ferrari HY-KERS I suspect is a mix. An electric motor driven by rechargeable batteries. It is possible that the KERS stands for some of the recharging of the batteries.
 
Yea and no ;) the third gen Prius exists both as a plug-in and as KERS including a drift mode where the petrol engine charges the batteries (wich I think is what Ferrari means when they say HY-KERS).
I never cared much about the Prius - except for its aerodynamics - so I didn't know it had several options.
 
At the time it was first built, the F40 was the fastest road car in the world, the first car to join the 200 mph club. It was only afterwards that competitors came out with 600+ hp supercars, and still, despite the power handicap, the F40 was held in high esteem in this company.

That's all because of the weight and focus of the F40. 480 hp may not sound like much today, by supercar standards, but bear in mind that the F40 was incredibly lightweight, about the same as a loaded Fiesta, and that meant good things for dynamics.

The Enzo successor will most likely not be anywhere near this light. Nowadays, it's amazing for any "supercar" to weigh under 1,400 kilograms.
 
The F150 seems nice - glad they stuck with a V12 instead (wouldn't be a successor without it). But I'm starting to not care for Ferrari's new styling (even though I'm a Ferrari nut). The FF is meh, the 599 is eh, the 458 is great (the convertible being beautiful), the F12 being ok, and the F430 and 360 being at bit ugly (especially the 360). Seems like Ferrari stopped with amazing styling after the 70's-early 80's - to me their best cars were pre-70's (then again, was't everyone's cars better?).

I'm hoping the F150 is good - so far it looks good.

I just wish manufacturers would get talented again - many great concepts from the past few years, but in the end we ether get an even uglier, duller version of the car in the same shape as every other car or the manufacturer just pulls the plug on it. Why can't we just go back to the styling we had in the 50's-60's with flowing lines, sexy looks, and wire wheels? I'm sure an updated Series I 250 GTO with new engine, brakes, air conditioning, etc. and a few suttle changes in look would make people go nuts and restore faith in Ferrari. Same goes for just about every other manufacturer (and especially US domestic manufacturers).

There is a rumors from people who have seen the "F150" in it's final form that it has a certain resemblance to the Ferrari 250 LM.
And that Ferrari will make only 500 units of it and it will cost just over 1 million Euro.

So a car that just from teasers I already think looks good is now rumored to look like one of my favorite classic Ferraris? I'm really excited and anxious to see this now 👍

I would absolutely love to see that. Infact, I might have to fire up photoshop and throw something together.

Already saw that, apparently teased at some event in Spain according ot the posts. Also, "F150" is the project name.
