RACECAR
Already saw that, apparently teased at some event in Spain according ot the posts. Also, "F150" is the project name.

Yea so no dash like F150 not F-150 i just saw it at top gear page in fb thought i might share it

I swear Ford sued them over that. Wonder if they won it.

Not sure but the odd thing was it was over that name on a F1 car (which last I checked the majority of the public cannot afford). I'm sure they are not gonna risk that again with the Road car though since this more or less will be occupying the same roads as said vehicle.

But i really dont like F150 i like F70 more. I hate pickup trucks they're just bad wearing F150 will make 50% of america think its a pickup

Like I said, Ferrari will be smart enough not to use it. F150 is nothing more then the project name, they still haven't revealed what the true name for it will be.

Also, 50% of America won't "Think its a Pickup". Even the Average Joe Knows what a Ferrari is.

There is a rumors from people who have seen the "F150" in it's final form that it has a certain resemblance to the Ferrari 250 LM.

Hope it's related to that unique roofline shape then, the 2 rearlights already resemble it somewhat.

If it's an hommage to the 250 LM, maybe a Le Mans-related name could be chosen?

Basically all models from Ferrari has either a name (Enzo, Scaglietti, Modena etc) and/or a displacement/number of cylinders tag (206, 355, 125, 458 etc), or a commemorate year tag (F40, F50). My bet is that the F150 will get a name that has some sort of significance to Ferrari. The coolest they could do IMO would be to just call it "Il Ferrari".

Ferrari has many historic names to choose from.

Tracks (Mugello, Monza), Events (Mille Miglia) or important historic persons (Nuovari, G. Villeneuve).

I hope they won`t call it F70. A name has more soul than combination of numbers.

Its easier to keep "Ferrari Enzo" in mind for avarage folks, then "Mclaren MP 4-12C", "Mclaren P1" or "Porsche 918 Spyder".

To be fair, that moniker is really on designated towards Anniversary models. And seeing as we're 4 years away from Ferrari's 70th, there's no reason to call it the F70.

Well, they named the F50 a few years early...

Villeneuve would be cool! Ferrari 1000 Miglia? I do suppose they will make note that it has a hybrid system though. F630H f ex.

Yes, but they also produced the car to 1997 as well. I think the US only received the car in 1995 or 1997, I can't remember which, to just 55 examples.

As a huge G. Villeneuve fan myself, I would prefer "Ferrari Gilles" over "Ferrari Villeneuve". Too many folks would confuse Gilles with Jaques.

Btw: Its also about time the "Ferrari Dino" returns. Maybe they will use a V6 turbo for the California successor (and for Maserati/Alfas) for marketing reasons (2014 F1 engines), I hope this brings Dino back!

I seem to remember a few years ago in Top Gear magazine a high up Ferrari employee jokingly suggested they've never named a car after a driver before when asked about Villeneuve.

They said there would never be a entry level Ferrari so No to a Dino.

Monza is no good because the association of Monza to most people (in the US at least, the biggest market for the new car) is this:

The alpha-numeric + name doesn't really seem to work, IMO. When's the last time you heard someone identify a Ferrari solely by 'Modena' or 'Italia' or 'Fiorano?' Either give it a name or a code, but not both.

For Ferrari's halo cars, it was always Alpha-Numeric (F-40,F-50), the only one i can think of that had a "Name" was the Enzo which was dedicated to the Enzo Ferrari

They've only had 5 though. 250GTO, 288 GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo.

The 250 GTO wasn't a Halo car. I don't think that concept even existed at that time. It was purely and simply a racing car. I would really only call the F50 and Enzo purpose built "halo" cars. The F40 and 288 GTO are, but I don't they were really designed as such by Ferrari. More of de-facto halo cars than intended ones.

Have you guys seen this?

"The F150 will feature a 6.3L V12 engine and combined with the electric KERS system, the power output should be around 900hp, and with a possible kerb weight of about 1100kg and all the technology imported straight from F1."

The front reminds me of the SuperGT Nissan GTR. I see the current Ferrari design language lights, looking pretty good so far.

When are we expecting to see the real thing then? It's pretty much the only car I've been excited about in years.

How could you possibly judge the car's looks with that camo? Those teaser shots already make clear it'll look very different than those spy pics.

I was judging by the camo look. What teaser shots you mean?

Just search a few pages back and you'll find teaser shots of the front and back end.
In general you can't judge a car's looks if it's this heavily camouflaged though, it's very clear they added parts to the body to disguise the final shape and proportions, it isn't just a few op-art decals put on the final version doing rounds on the Nordschleife as you see very often.

You mean this ? :)

One thing is that, the Ferrari with that camo looks it seems close to the Mazerati MC12 :boggled:

Maybe if they added parts to the body to disguise the final shape, it was simply meant to test the engine? 💡

Yes those are the pics I meant and I'll agree the camo does make it look a bit like a Maserati MC12 (the long overhangs in particular).

And yes, they test the engine, chassis, suspension, etc. without wanting people to spot how the car is going to look, common practice really.

Clever. :dopey:

Now I'm really excited, basicly it will be a Road-Legal F1 (sort of). :D
