Um Nowhere do they state they will be turning their biggest franchise into some Plus selling point. Really reading much into nothing, it's just a slide. Uncharted is one of the, means nothing. There just using their own ip's to illustrate a point.

This is all they specifically say. "also enhancing the game line-up with launches like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and Gran Turismo Sport."

They don't even insinuate that they are using any of their franchises by purposefully putting them behind a paywall in an attempt to drive Plus adoption.

PD used a NFS slide in one of their presentations lol, must mean so much right.

As neither of us were at the presentation Sony gave we really don't know what they said do we. Presentation slides from corporate business though I'm sure you aware usually try and sum up the intent in a graphical way.. .....anyway the link was provided as requested...

Except even on this site we have seem to
seen an influx of new posters since mid October.

Would be interesting to hear from the admins how many newcomers have come to GT Planet......
I've not personally seen numbers , but it doesn't seem as many as we have got for past GT releases, nor from my own point of view was it as manic as it was for either GT5 or GT6.

I do however expect to see another smaller spike around Christmas.

Thanks good to see an influx of new people to the site too. Hopefully they enjoy the site as much as we do.

Thank for the link, but it proves nothing.

If you do a daily race two times in a row, you'll be matched with about 4-8 people from the previous race, that says it all really.

The game is very good but the track list is sooo bad . I mean , Interlagos is fantastic for example (of course it is , it's in the F1 calendar as well) but some tracks are just parking lots and not exciting to drive with a GT4 or GT3 car . They need to deliver updates ASAP .

Definitely not as many as GT5 - if online lobbies are anything to go by. Very slim pickings.

Harder to tell. I was online with GT5 pretty quickly and there was only one place to play, so everyone online will be in lobbies. But with GT Sport I have entered the online lobbies once. 99% of my online time is done in daily's or fia races.

That's disc sales. The UK has seen a big rise in download versions this year due to retailers not beating the download price.
Yeah. Given there was a good PSN deal, can probably add anything from 10%-30%. At retail alone GT Sport is over 250k in UK. Including digital it'll be well over 300K.

I'm not sure what GT6 lifetime sales are. But with it's December launch, and coming after PS4 launched, it didn't get a second sales boost like GT Sport.

The Digital : Physical ratio is like 60:40 or 70:30 these days isn't it?

It got a permanent price reduction on the UK PSN at £19.99. I can't remember which month that happened but it was surprisingly early. The only time that's changed is when it's been included in a sale. That's where the bulk of GT6's sales came from.

Price reductions + bundling + an announced offline career mode should create a big leap in sales for GTS.

Will it really? None of the big gaming press have covered it = no one will know

Taken from article linked above:
"Standout success on PS4 hardware specifically which beat all previous PS4 Black Friday weeks except for Black Friday 2013 (week 48) which was also PS4 launch week. Official Hard Bundles for PS4 and Xbox One reached a new high this year, accounting for over 83% of all PS4/Xbox One hardware units sold this week. The Top 3 games this week were pretty much universally offered as bundles from retail, either via official hard bundles or bespoke soft bundles. Activision Blizzard’s ‘Call of Duty: WWII’ retains the No1 spot for a fourth week since launch, EA climb 1 place to No2 with ‘FIFA 18’ and Sony’s ‘Gran Turismo: Sport’ climbs 9 places to No3."

In an earlier post I noted GTS was being bundled heavily with CoD WW2 and also with FIFA 18. PS4 Pro was £299 for two games and the normal PS for £199.

Similiarly:

Black Friday week sees various software titles affected by huge promotions, most of which are hardware driven. Entertainment Software unit sales climb +89% over last week and +53% by revenue and this is the biggest week of the year so far for both units and revenue.

This is why it was so critical that Sport launched in mid October and the GT Mode announcement was made to capitalise on this period.

UK is one of the highest in buying digital content in general world wide. there's been articles on the BBC about it in the last 1-2 years. I've said before I doubt this stops at console games and recently this was confirmed by an article stating UK is around 50% digital for console games. Naysayers have been proved wrong.

GTS has also seen a huge bounce back this week in the UK. GT Sport must be very big digitally here, it's the sort of game you want accessible on your console at all times to hop in and out.

I'd be more conservative with the ratio this past week as many of the retail sales where, obviously, from bundles.

Those who know about these things on Resetera believe GT Sport will do over 500k in the UK this year. That puts it more in line with GT5's launch window, although that obviously retained it's RRP (or close to it) much longer. We're also in a new sales era, Black Friday wasn't really a thing back then, just regular Christmas sales.

GTS did some amazing numbers in the UK. Outdid its launch sales by selling >100k. Its >250k in the UK alone without digital. With digital it could be 350-400k+.

For reference GT5 sold 600k+ at the end of year.

Of course we must take into account that GTS had big discounts unlike GT5. Although the price did not hold like GT5 they still made a lot of money:

No denying Uk is looking like the best individual market for Gtsport in the world, it alone might outsale USA given how badly GTsport has flopped there. The disparity on amazon was/is nuts, yesterday was in the 300ths now on sale GTsport climbed to 200ish, while it was top 3 on amazon uk and still in the top ten.

Quite stunning and perplexing to do so well in one place and so bad in another.

That's impressive.

Not really, it was on sale for 18$. Literally the best deal on the market for a new game.

Well, it never really went on sale over here until today so that could account for some of that. It's been pretty much 59.95 since release.

Could have sworn it's been on sale since sometime last week, in most places, no?

Maybe? It's been 59 every time I looked for it. I looked everywhere on Black Friday and it was only in bundles. I bought a copy today for 40 bucks for my stepson. First sale I had seen.

Still impressive regardless, if people were genuinely convinced the game was too bad to buy then they'd just not buy.

Also there's one big thing we overlooked: the game was released before Black Friday and Xmas, there will probably be another sales boom during Xmas.
