You people are aware that Polyphony has owned these models (including some 911 GT1s) since before 2006, right? The models don't mean anything.

Why are you getting into a tizzy again?

They've owned models for a long time, but specifically these ones? Can you prove that?

Hey, these models on the shelf certainly don't mean these cars will be in the game. And certainly any Porsche models don't mean Porsche is in the game, definitely not until we hear word that PD has a license or sub-license to use their brand. But, for all the other cars that are here that technically could be put into the game at any time, the fact that they have these models to look at perhaps gives them a greater chance to make it into the game than other cars that are not present here. At least it tells us PD is strongly aware of them and likes them enough to have them on the shelf, hence their possible future appearance in GT6 or GT7.

No one's really jumping and saying hey this is going to be in GT6! But it's not a stretch to say some of the cars they have models of may have a decent chance of making it in GT6 or perhaps GT7.

You're right, but still no point in pointing them out LIKE it were a wishlist.

Hey, is that the Cappuccino from Initial D? lol :D The one at the very bottom row in the first column of the right "book case".

Screw that, gimme the BTTC Volvo 850 estate

I'll take the Gsx 1100 Katana in TT2 please

In all honesty though, the models aren't any indication of what cars we will see, some we know are in, some we know can't be in, and some we can only hope could be in like the BTCC Volvo and that W202 D2 DTM Merc

I think, that they use the Porsche plastic models to see the 3D form for modelling their RUF models, because there are no RUF plastic models available.

Before anyone gets too excited over this image, I'd like to point out that these appear to be pre-Bowlby early X1 (before it became the X2010/2011) prototypes and design renderings. Though these could point to more renditions of the X prototypes, I wouldn't count on it.

Thank you captain obvious.
And a Le Mans Lancia Stratos on the top right row

I'm pretty sure that's Group 5.

Seriously, stop interpreting something in these diecast models.
We've seen pics like this looooong before GT5, with Porsche models, Ferrari models, an Ariel Atom (at least listed as a manufacturer somewhere) and all kind of stuff that never made it in to the game.

I really hope the 240Z rally car makes it into the game. I know it's a longshot, but do you think we'll see any famous F1 cars in GT6? I could care less about new F1 cars, but would really love some of Ayrton Sennas F1 cars or the 1976 Tyrrell P34 or even Niki Laudas Ferrari 312.

Chaparral 2K?

If all those models made it into GT6. I would die a happy man! 👍

Because they're model kits, not digital models. PD have had them for years. They're far from a confirmation of anything.

Second, half of these vehicles aren't legally allowed in Gran Turismo yet (Porsches, more than one brand of F1 car).

If anything, they used the F1 kits to model the "Polyphony Digital 00-" open-wheelers in GT3. The Porsche kits were probably used to model the RUFs since, well, RUFs are just Porsche bodyshells.

Bingo. They're obviously just guides since I doubt RUF kits are easy to come by if they even exist and if you want to model a fake F1 car what else can you use except a real one as your basis?

There are so many words that I can use right now for that guy that I wouldn't associate with anyone else, but it wouldn't be right. I'll just say, WTF!

BUT, ignorant and full of something is what I CAN say, right?

All of those tamiya boxes are assemble-it-yourself type models, not the die casts as seen in the underside of an in-game car. That looks like someone's personal collection that happens to be stored in the office.

Oh, the irony of that threads with people saying that PD has the ultimate masrtery in modeling, so they cant afford hire more people.

GT5 toy cars

GT5 Models are masterpieces, as an 3D "artist" I just admire the craftsmanship that goes into every single premium car. Its easy to dismiss other peoples work if you have no clue about it.

Why everybody takes things so personally here? Jeez.

I love the craftsmanship of some cars in GT5 because some of them i would never get to know. Others, like the Peugeot 908, speaks to my heart, because i saw it racing in Interlagos once and fell in love with such an exquisite thing.

But i found people who takes PD so personally quite funny. They can't stand the truth: some of PD's work are magnificent, some are 🤬.

And if Kaz himself found "embarassing", to say the least, a toy car in GT, who are we to being mad with it?

They might be masterpieces on the outside but underneath they're behind what some other devs are doing.

Except for the mid engined cars with visible engines the under the hood detail on GT5 cars are either very low or non-existent. The suspension and other parts aren't modeled, the inside of the tyres aren't even properly modeled.

Still that job can be done up to that quality by thousands of people around the world and other games/sims have higher quality models than GT6's. PD is not special and all that "supreme attention to detail" talk is just marketing.

Well jeez, maybe if you toned down your ignorance, you would be tolerable. I'm only saying, If you can TRY.

Couldn't agree more. I appreciate the work and effort put into the premium models, but PD aren't untouchable gods that no one can compare to.
