Oh noes!!! The cars are like Lego again. Why not having front and rear wings coming off in fragments rather than the whole thing coming off at the same time.

One of the previous dev diarys (2 Ibeleive) has in game footage of a coming together between a STR and a Force India, the front wing breaks a little on the end plate and a piece of the main wing snaps off. I think cosmetic may also be simplified a great extent.

As opposed to the real world where they also all sound the same?:odd:

If you were to look at some onboard footage, the cars don't sound the same. You can tell the difference in sound between a Ferrari and McLaren and Red Bull. Even teams that use the same engine as others don't sound the same.

The cars do sound different, Codemasters miked up each car at the pre season tests, I think it may only be Lotus, HRT and Virgin that dont sound perfect.

Just heard of a video of Adrian Sutil Driving a Force India round Monza;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzh0UpykALU

Checking it out now.

Edit: Good to see a new video, it seems ok, not much action, I think it may have been an online multi-player race, judging by the comments underneath and the first corner incidents. The steering seems a little off compared to the game, but I think that shouldnt be an issue with wheels like the DFGT etc. There is an incident on the exit of turn 2 (3?) on the last lap where the rear stepped out and seemed very easy to get back on again, but perhaps this had more to do with the aid settings. Not sure what the interview at the start was like, I have no sound on this end so it could be in a different language for all I know, sorry, if you want to skip this the racing starts at the 2 minute mark.

The games looking good though, not the GT type simulator a lot of people would like, but not the arcade racers like need for speed prior to shift. I would say the driving simulation will be on par with F1CE, but with better dynamic effects, tires, weather, fuel etc.

Very impressed with the Monaco video. Still not entirely convinced of the sound of the cars going past, you hear them near the end of the video and they still sound very flat.

I don't normally get overly excited about damage, but this video looks very impressive IMO

Yeah, realistic damage really adds to a game, releaves the frustration of ruining your own race. :dopey: But considering the damage simulation in Grid (dont know about Dirt) I was hoping Codemasters wouldnt let F1 down on this side.

When I watched the Adrian Sutil video earlier today, it made want this game. I'm still not that keen on F1 games though.

Too bad we can't rent games in Belgium anymore.

💡 Looks like a good game to tuck us in for the next two months before GT5 comes out... 👍

I think the new videos are much better. Lotus in Monaco video is nice lot of understeer and the damage video is also cool I guess. Rewind function ? is cheap but anyways it is an option to use or not to use.

I would guess since it was already built into the engine they just decided to leave it in. It will make it easier for beginners to play, which is never a bad thing.

This screenshot looks really good, very real.
Does anyone know if it is a PS3, 360 or PC screenshot?

l'm really looking forward to F1 2010.
l've been playing F1 CE for the past few months , and have to say it truly is a gem.
Hopefully Codemasters doesn't drop the ball.

I'm sure they won't. There has been too much critisisme the last couple of years.

I'm still hoping for Grid 2 or another race series with sim physics, no arcade.
It doesn't have to a true, hardcore sim like iRacing/netKar Pro but I do prefer race games with realistic sim physics.

Have you seen this one?

He has my respect!

Nope, I haven't got access to youtube in work but I've added it to the list of about 20 other videos I'll be watching over the weekend :D:tup:

Hmm, can't say I'd be thrilled with equal cars. I've been frustrated with the default tune for online races in F1CE from the beginning. I was really hoping for the ability to tune a car for online play.

Regarding this video, I don't see anything that proves that online tuning will be out. It could be that all the people driving the top cars were no good. Also, notice that the only 3 "active" cars at the end of the race are HRT, Virgin, & Lotus.

You are allowed to tune the cars online. What I meant was that the cars are equal in performance, like a Red Bull and Lotus would be exactly the same stock.

Ah, I miss understood. I agree that its good for the online racing to have cars with equal default performance. I'm not sure if the video proves that, but I hope that's the case.

This game is going to be awesome. I'm still a little irked about the red stripe on the McLaren's nose though.

Also, I hope you can turn off the driver names that show up on top of the cars.

A bit of triava (spelling wrong?) but the engine what Codemasters are using for the rain in F1 2010 is being borrowed and being used in Dirt 3 which is out next year.
