Even the lotus' blast past me in the opening laps.

Its funny, I'm in a lotus and the Virgin cars blast by me. Is it kjust me or does your car always seem to go really slow in a straight line compared to ALL of the other cars?

You might be running too much down force.

Have you tried altering your tune? If your on a wet tune then your car won't go as fast in a straight line

Hey guys you should turn off the fuel simulation, because the AI doesn't use it, that's why your car is so slow. It used to happen to me, but I finaly figured out the problem and now everything is just fine. You'll still be slower than the top cars, but at least Lotuses, Virgins, HRTs, and even Saubers or Toro Rossos won't be a problem.

I would hate to put damage on cosmetic as well.

I think that maybe these problems are "scripted" but they are so frustrating. No matter anyway. I'll be on fallout (hopefully) untill GT5, the next time I play F1 it will (again hopefully) of been patched and I'll start a new career and finally enjoy it properly.

It's true that this way the game feels too easy ( I can't imagine the domination when I drive only a mid-level car), but it's either this, or being smoked by the slow cars.
I hope Codemasters fix this issue with the patch, so every single car in the grid has fuel sim activated. Oh, and I also hope they fix the non-pitting AI issue.

Because there isn't. How the hell is Chandhok qualifying 10th and actually threatening Kubica and pulling away from the Saubers and Mercedes?

Also, what's up with certain drivers always pitting twice in a race? This doesn't make sense; it's always either Button, Alonso or Massa who pit on lap 5 for the first time and 5 laps later pit yet again

Maybe that's to compensate for the fact that some don't pit in at all!

Wow, talk about cheap and problematic. Anyway great to know and unfortunatley just had my data corrupt so I'm just starting with Williams doing a three year season.

Is the McLaren overall faster than the Red Bull? In all the leadboards, the McLaren dominates, but I would have though the Red Bull would be faster, or at least more of a spread on the leaderboard.

This is really getting frustrating, everytime I join an online custom GP the host kicks me out.

Try hosting your own race and you will see how the host can set parameters and range of ranking (probably why you are getting booted).

Also some do not appear to like certain PSN names (GTP_ for example) and subsequently boot me out of a race.

I even had someone just repeatedly 'attack' me in qualifying in one race; never got a hot lap in 👎

Was thinking to use my GTP account to race online (As for me a GTP tag mean "clean & fair driver"), cause I'm frequently kicked from lobbies without any reason... But after your comment, I won't!

It's like people are afraid of some competition. Why do they race online then?!
I know what I'm gonna do, I'll use my girlfriends account and try to beat them with rating 1.

Only 2 races left in my first career. I've declined the offers from Sauber because I'm guaranteed a contract with Force India, but with only these 2 races left I only have a Toro Rosso contract available.

I might take the gamble to decide on a contract at Abu Dhabi, but then again I hope the Toro Rosso contract won't be gone by then...

They're very close, the Red Bull seems to turn into the corners more sharply but the McLaren has a top speed advantage and has just as much grip in the high speed corners, if not more possibly. I think they must have nailed down the performance for the cars around Turkey, Canada time this season when it looked as if McLaren were going to eventually overtake Red Bull in the development race.

Istanbul is quite possibly the most fun track I've played in a video game. 👍

I like the Istanbul Track except for Turn 2 and three. That blind crest tightening radius entry thing is just a cheap trick, its not an exciting corner, its just dull. If I were in a bar with Tilke right now I'd tell him too.

Same for that stupid double chicane onto the pit straight.

Turn 2 is a pain in the ass, you have to hit the apex perfect otherwise you'll understeer right off course or you'll spin out if you take too much kerb.

Had an awful race at Suzuka. Was dry in 2 laps to rain to dry for the last 5 laps. Button for some reason, was setting times as if he was still in dry on primes & options, whilst I was barely getting any grip. Alonso followed behind him and went for a daring overtake causing me to go wide. I spun, came around, & ended up knocking Vettel out by accident.

Coming around the U-Turn right near the bridge, Hamilton pushed for the inside though he had no room. He spun, taking me with him, letting Massa go by. Served his stupid ass right when he got taken out by Sutil.

Korea race was much better, though next season, I def. need to bump it up to Legendary. Everyone was having a bit of trouble hitting some of the corners as fast I could.

I don't see why people have trouble with the AI not using fuel sim and blasting past. I have my career set to "compete with the very best" which is the hardest difficulty, and I had no problem keeping up, and was battling with Liuzzi in my HRT. I managed to get by the other new teams on lap 1 and was battling with Torro Rosso's and Liuzzi. Wasn't easy to do, but not unbelievably hard.

I'm finding this game difficult on the hardest setting, but I have managed a win so far (Shanghai in the rain - awesome race) and I'm on pole for Montreal.

Sorry Spag for the late reply,I haven't been racing online for quiet some time now I am having summer exams ,but mate add me on the sems4arsenal account the other one I only created for GT5 back in 2008 and used 3 or 4 times only so I will be using the other one. Will try to be online next weekend,only had one decent race online with some gtplanters.

Valencia last sector is my favortie part of this whole game the way it flows is so fun and enjoyable.

There are too many bugs on this game though for example racing at interlagos started on pole, Vettel 6th he didnt pit so after I pitted he was roughly 20 seconds ahead so I went about setting fastest laps (1.10.934) and caught up to him not being able to pass chandhok and flew past him, I was so glad that I overtook him words would not have been able to comprehend how annoyed I would have been had I not been able to overtake him and finished second.
