Ok, started a career and didn't finish in Bahrain due to 3 puntures in the first 10 laps, so switched them off and headed for Melbourne. Finished in 10th there. Then to Malaysia where I qualified 2nd and won in a Lotus with Legendary AI.

What the hell is that all about? I want to be driving a Lotus/HRT/Virgin, during the first couple of years of my 7 year career, and be fighting for 17th and the like. I don't want to be winning. That's just stupid.

You realize that once you disable damage, it's no longer a fair game, right?

It's quite gratifying when you qualify 6th in the Lotus twice with out aids and full damage, tyre wear/fuel consumption on. 👍

Yesterday I found out that focussing on the rev meter on the right side is the same as losing seconds.
On the Turkey track I was driving on the shifters on the steeringwheel. I made up seconds in a lap. Giving me pole and the win in a Lotus.

In what way? Surely the speed difference between you and the AI remains constant?

I'm not entirely sure to be honest, there's plenty of problems with the AI concerning consistency, especially conforming to the rules (unless you're in wet conditions). I know I have tire simulation and damage (because of the punctures) disabled as I wanted a bit of "easy street" until the patch was released, so, if you have that disabled it gives you the same result of performance you'd get from an HRT, Lotus, etc in Time Trial. If you only have damage disabled then that makes no sense, or as you've said "What the hell is that all about?"

The thing is, turn on the fuel simulation and tyre simulation and you'll be fighting the way you want. However, now the game becomes unfair because the AI is not driving with the same handicaps.

I think Codemasters simply assumed we were all going to turn every driver aid off and set the AI difficulty accordingly. They really should have a difficulty for some of the more arcade players among us.

As for me I signed for Toro Rosso after Brazil. I really wished Force India would've contacted me, but oh well. Finished the season in 5th with 152 points. Brazil was loads of fun with a dry race becoming an uncontrollable wet one near the end. I especially love how my team called me in for inters a bit too soon, but once the track became wetter I made up all those places I lost with that early pitstop and was right back in 5th behind Rosberg.

But I still qualified 2nd. Surely my qualifying lap would not have been affected by the lack tyre wear.

So you do have 'tire simulation' disabled? That's explains everything, turn it back on, and leave damage disabled and you'll never see any number close to 2 again.

It will greatly affect your laptimes. My problem with the AI difficulty is that it's way too easy on my custom settings, and the way it is set up now I love it. I just wish there would be harder difficulties to choose from.

Oh, and the rubber-banding in this game sucks. Codemasters promised us it wouldn't be in it but it's definitely there. The AI seems to lap in pace intervals, so whether it's this or rubber-banding I don't know but at times it's quite irritating to see these sudden rushed of pace from the AI. Oh, and thank God they are fixing the AI twitching in the upcoming patch.

Is it rubber banding or is it the old "circuit/tyres/setup coming to the driver"? I mean we've all seen in real races how the slow guys at the start can really pick up speed as the circuit grips up, or as the conditions change.

I'm talking about the AI clocking laptimes 2 seconds slower or faster within 1 lap. It just isn't possible that when I'm chasing Kubica he suddenly eases on his pace and Chandhok closes in on me with a or two per lap...

I agree wholeheartedly. I too went with Lotus and began winning racing within the first 3. I had the AI all the way up to legend, with all assists off (except pit controls), and all tire & fuel simulation also on. I was able to win the championship in the first season. What the hell . Yeah. . . I know I'm freakin' awesome at racing :sly:, but this is just annoying. I was looking forward to some fights at the back of the field to start out with. I'm just begun my 3rd season, now driving for Sauber. So far I've only raced Bahrain, and there I was able to run away and hide. I know I'm pretty good at tuning a car, testing different setups, and seeing which ones give me quickest lap times. At this rate, when I finally make it to McLaren, I'll be able to leave the engine on cruise throughout the season, use only one engine, and still win the championship. Thankfully, online can still provide good racing, provided you're racing good people.

Not true, I've won in Bahrain from 2nd on the grid with Lotus with Tire and Fuel Simulation enabled and Damage disabled on Legendary AI. They really need to make one more difficulty level.

The game is just inconsistant. Everyone has a different experience of problems, I dont like the fact that i can win in one race, then be left at the line in the next. Hope this patch helps, because career is on hold till then.

After thought..

Has anyone tried playing full length races?, hows the AI pace in that? I race 50% full weekend.

Is anyone else having frame rate problems at Monaco in the final sector?

Yeah, during a career race, every lap got frame rate problems going through the 'Swimming Pool' section, probably due to all of the other cars passing on the opposite side of the pit lane.

Its bloody annoying with the guy keep telling me I am dropping time in the final sector when I just could not do anything about it.

Well you could drive faster... :D

I was getting frame rate problems at monaco, but oddly enough it was up the main straight, everywhere else it was fine.

I only have it in the Swimming Pool on Qualifying, in a race I don't get any framerate problems at all.

Lolololol I encountered quite possibly the strangest glitch.

I qualified on pole at Montreal in the Lotus, no assits, Professional AI, but I got a 5 grid spot penalty for "causing a collision", so I dropped to 6th for the race.

Race started, got a decent start and I was able to move up to 3rd at the end of the first lap, I ran there for most of the race till my first pit stop at lap 12 (I'm running 50% race distance), moved down to 8th and had a good little battle with Alonso and Petrov and got back up to 3rd as the stops cycled through.

At the end of the race as my tires were worn down I was sliding around and battling Rosberg for 3rd, after the finish, for some reason it classified me as the winner by 1 lap over the field. o_O

It annoys me when I'm doing my full fuel load runs, and he's constantly reminding me to copy my team mate's set up.

Yeah I DID and the fact that it can all be insanley easy, or cheap as hell. Your car can never go fat in a straight line (no matter what settings or who your racing) but thats a problem on all difficulties. The biggest problem are the pit stops. You would think since its a long race you wouldnt have lots of traffic when you pit, but they all seem to follow you in and the mechanics hold you needlessly. Its crazy and I just can't do it anymore. But to answer your question, it basically just as cheap.

Very weird thing just happened to me here. Playing F1 2010, then the TV just fades to black, and it's been like that since, even on actual television. Sound is fine, but there's no picture. The TV hasn't been overworked or anything. :odd:

Sucks, cause now I can't play -_-
