F1 201X - Updates & News DiscussionF1 2010-2016

Since when are there crowds cheering at a rookie test?

The physics seem "floaty" to me. Of course you can't really tell from a video but still.

Can't wait for the demo.

Let me take a step back. I just re-watched the interview. Stephen Hoods body language is actually positive. He does state "a massive leap" for the PS3 version and top people have worked on it as the platform is important to them.

Let's just see what their definition of a massive leap is :-)

He works for Codemasters, his job is to market the game and throw out the smoke and mirrors routine to convince us to buy the game from the company he works for.
He won`t slump down and drop his head and mumble something about it being no good etc. It may well indeed have been seriously worked on and made to a acceptable level, time will tell.

Think of him as a salesman or politician and you get the idea.

I know about his position all too well. I'm in the same line of work except I'm in a slightly different industry. In a way it's car and game related in its own way. Anyway, I'm faced with the same hard questions everyday and sometimes when I know we have a less than ideal product or feature set, I have make it sound, look and perform as if it's the best thing since sliced bread ;-) lol

Tighter and cleaned up graphics? I hope!

A FPS bump of at least 10 more than what we got in 2011? I can't wait for the demo to see for myself ;)

Jake Humphrey has just tweeted BBCF1 are doing a feature with Codemasters. He says it'll be aired in Singapore.

Looks interesting.

I'll say that looks interesting! Notice how all the rigs have the new Fanatec CSW base and F1 rim?!
I wonder if they're running the game on PC's or PS3's since XBox's can't use CSW gear?
Not a whole lot has been said to confirm whether or not the PS3 version will fully support the CSW gear. I have yet to find substantial confirmation at least...
I have all that gear and while it works great in F1 2011 and 2010, it has to be in PS3 mode to work as it emulates a Logitech G25. The new wheel has shift LED's. It would be a nice touch if Codemasters and Fanatec have a nice surprise for Fanatec CSW users :-)

Codemasters probably kept them in there because removing them would mean creating another version of the Yas Marina circuit for a game mode the player will only experience for about fifteen minutes - and even then, large sections of that game mode do not feature the car going past grandstands.

And while it might seem out of place, it's not without precedent - when Fernando Alonso joined Ferrari in 2010, spectators turned out in their hundreds to see his first run in Valencia.

Ouch for Japan, the game will be released everywhere else before they get the demo.

It's looking great. I love the new UI, and how you can notice the light changes even on the wheel (in terms of shade/sun).

Would be nice to see the option screens to see what wheels are supported beyond the list we've seen so far :-)

Played 2011 now on ps3, I forgot how horrible the graphics were :D Hope 2012 is WAY better

The graphics were really that bad? I picked up the PC version of the 2011. Man, now I'm scared, because I want to get the PS3 version this time to play online.
