Tried the demo fter downloading off Steam, crashed my PC right away without loading. I can run iRacing on full graphics but not open F! 2012 demo.. Very dissapointed. Any way to try get around this problem?

So I was slightly sceptical about using a wheel with this game after hearing various comments about it with the whole understeer thing and so on.

Well, I needn't have worried, its come alive now I have my Momo Force plugged in, yeah I get understeer sometimes but only when I got well wide on a corner, corner before the tunnel at Monaco for example, keep a good line, good grip no understeer, ran wide and had too much speed, got understeer. This game has now just stepped up a gear for me.
 
I was slightly apprehensive before I'd played it, hearing reports of understeer. And yes, there is understeer, but as my first career race progresses, the understeer disappeared, and I had adapted to the game. Now I love it, much improved over last year.
 
agree with matty, the game is soo good when you just get adjusted to things and it looks so damn good on pc aswell:) so far im enjoying playing it :)👍
 
Okay guys. After reading for all the stuff you have posted in the days after the games release, am I right in saying this is a good improvement on last years title? If so, would you suggest I get it ASAP, or should I wait for christmas for any patches to be released to fix any bugs? Thanks in advance. :)

Yes, it is a massive improvement on 2011, much more rewarding. I haven't come across any game breaking bugs yet. Unless you use chase cam.
 
I didn't think I would like it, I used it once and never went back. The normal one doesn't feel right now for me :D
 
Got to the race in Barcelona and good news, my engineer is now speaking again, the bad news is after doing 35 laps of the 100% distance race I get a stupid drive through for holding my line against Webber (unjustified penalty) and then if that wasn't enough when I go in the pits to serve the penalty I go into a pit stop which was 4 laps before my planned stop and this completely messed up my strategy as I could only do 27 laps on a set of primes so now i'm having to restart the race and do it another day because of this. Very annoyed, I hope cm release a patch for at least the drive through bug because I am seriously 🤬 off now!
 
Ah the cracks are starting to show.

Really hope they honour the 2 patch rule as in previous efforts.

I like the angle of the new cam but the position/timer part of the OSD can obscure the entry to some left handers...

It seems that my engineer is back from being glitched out. Now I just wish they would let us pick what tyres we can use in one-shot qualifying. Going up a wet Eau Rouge on dry tires is not fun.
 
I agree with that. While it probably is not a full fledged sim, it is a very enjoyable F1 game. I think the AI really gives you a challenge. They behave well.

Yes, this game has far far fewer bugs than the previous 2. And they certainly aren't game breaking.

Get it :P Its very good, reading negative comments will only make you enjoy it more when you realise it is actually a very good game.

The AI is quite surprising actually. They really do defend and attack very realistically, they seem nervous sometimes when overtaking with DRS but they behave very realistically with avoidances and so on.
 
Has anyone encountered PS3 shut down glitch when starting the F1 2012 Demo ? It happens right after the gobogames screen when starting the game, tried to start the game 3 times, exactly same thing happen, same spot. I can't play the demo :(

That hasn't happened to me. Have you tried loading the demo offline? Try deleting it and re-installing it?

I tried offline, use the HDMI audio out and only stereo LPCM, use 720p only and even tried to rebuild database, all to no avail, and corrupted my other demo in the end :( The data corruption was due to the sudden shutdown with blinking red led, then I have to do file restore on the next boot up. My PS3 runs without it's top cover, never have any heat issue, the fan never goes high speed - always at after boot up low speed, and never have any shutdown like this, that happens at the exact same spot, right after the Gobogames logo disappear. I have deleted the demo, downloading again now, but I am scared it's going to happen again and corrupted my other game data :nervous: I have 1st release slim PS3 and 4.25 OS, just updated my GT5 to 2.08, all run smooth.

Update : Reinstalled the demo, still the same issue:grumpy: Shut down itself after Gobogames logo disappear.
