F1 201X - Updates & News DiscussionF1 2010-2016

Does anyone still have the PC demo?

Mine is messed up big time, it is using 0% GPU and stuttering like crazy at 2-5 fps.

It was working fine when I first downloaded it but now it's gone crazy.

Tried that.

I've just downloaded MSI afterburner and it's showing that the GPU is dropping to 0% during gameplay. I recently had my motherboard replaced which is when it started happening but all of my other games work fine.

Is this game really worth the upgrade from 2011? Is the career mode more immersive, because that's what I play most of the time.

Edit: Went ahead and purchased it. Main observation is the obvious understeer that everybody talks about, as well as lack of engine power. It's funny, because on a game like rFactor I had to work a lot on braking later, but on this game you have to brake far too soon. I guess it's their way of forcing more realistic lap times. That's not a complaint, just an observation. I like the game for what it is. In any case, I'm struggling so far with the Caterham on the hardest settings. Just can't seem to get any power down.

One other big thing I've noticed between 2011 and 2012 is that I'm downshifting one extra gear in this year's game because the usual setups aren't producing enough exit speed, and you can't brake late and carry that speed in this year's game.

Anybody else using a G27? Now the 1.02 patch has been implemented, the steering lock is now 900 degrees instead of the normal 270 which makes the game completely unplayable! Way to screw up Codies...

I just read this reply at another forum.

The Saturation has been changed since the PS3 patch....

As far as I can make out, 0-95% SATURATION is now equal to 900 degrees (0%) to approx. 30 degrees (95%)
(as tested on my G25)

so if you want 900 degrees use 0%
approx 360 degrees use 60% (this seems to about match the on screen display too)
approx 250 degrees use 70%
approx 30 degrees (why?) use 95% (won't go to 100% )

I'm using between 60% - 65% SATURATION and everything else on 0% (I guess for LINEARITY you can use 0-15% depending on personnel reference).

Hope this helps.

I am happy with the PS3 patch, but they looks like removed the safety car. In v1.01 SC came out 2x in Monaco at 25% race. But after yesterdays patch i made everything to get it out but nothing, i made pile up... but computer just removes the cars that are blocking from track and no SC, 14 cars finished 6x car pile up and still no SC, i got red flags but no SC :(
I really liked it when it came out, didnt mind at all driving 100kmh around..

But now looks like theY blocked it even if we set it to ON. Maybe in next patch the will release it...

Has the update been released in North America or just Europe for now?

"The patches for PS3 and Xbox 360 have now been sent for submission with the relevant first parties. We anticipate that the PS3 patch for Europe - English / French / German / Italian / Spanish and Japan will be released at the end of this week. The Xbox 360 patch should be released early next week. Finally the PS3 patch for European Polish / Russian and American versions will follow in another week or two.

:ouch::grumpy:

Well, I wouldn't expect any kind of patch anytime soon for the U.S. market if you're a PS3 owner. Over on the Codemasters forum today they just announced console patch 3, which is another fix to some more issues they've been getting feedback on.
I'm sure US customers are asking "what ever happened to patch #2 for North America?" Well...Codemasters has said that patch #3 for the USA will include the bug fixes seen in patch#2, hence we have to wait even longer for any bug fixes as they won't release #2 as #3 will have all the fixes anyway.

Wow!

What ever happened tp PS3 patch #1, nevermind #2 and #3 :grumpy:

Thay are advertising the Game on Speed Channel and the Speed F1 Comentary Team are going to play it-must not be the PS3 version eh:grumpy::crazy:

I will not buy F1 2013 next year

I've played the game for the past two nights on my PS3 using a Fanatec CSW base and F1 wheel rim and simply put...the game is so much fun and for sure a definite improvement over the 2011 PS3 version.
The handling model is a nice combination of 2010 and 2011. I think most would concede this works and it's quite rewarding. Does the car understeer? Of course. Brake sooner =) Does the wheel get light? Of course, real cars do too when they pass the point of traction.
I hope everyone on here dives into the game and sees that it's just plain fun. Codesmasters did a good job IMHO.
The Online matching does need some tweaks, but that will probably be dealt with in time.

Hi. What CSW setup do you use? The first time that I played (I played just one time until now) Oh my God! Can not drive with CSW... terrible.

What happened to the steering on my G27, I updated and it takes so much to turn the car just a little bit. Anyone know why? What did the update this afternoon change?

Try
Steering saturation 70%,
Steering Linearity 30%
& everything else 0

Hi. What CSW setup do you use? The first time that I played (I played just one time until now) Oh my God! Can not drive with CSW... terrible.

My current CSW set up is:
SEN: 320
FF: 100
SHO: off
ABS: 40
LIN: off
DEA: off
DRI: off
FOR: 150
SPR: 140
DPR: 160

In game:
Steering Deadzone: 0
Steering Saturation: 0
Steering Linearity: 0
Throttle Deadzone: 0
Throttle Saturation: 5
Brake Deadzone: 2
Brake Saturation: 10

I just loaded the update (1.02 North America, which according to Codemasters is 1.02 and 1.03 combined from the Europe updates released a while ago)
Anyway, the update did not ruin my CSW settings. Still feels good to me. If anything the center feels a tad tighter, but I'm still trying different tracks to confirm.
From what I've read G25/27 owners should have a better feeling wheel. I don't think FANATEC owners will notice much as they have more tuning options within the actual wheel. We'll see what the NA users who now have the patch feel about it...

Regarding the update: I played for about an hour before installing the update. After installing the update I ran the same track, car and set up. From what I've seen or noticed the grip level has changed slightly. The driving line grip seems to be wider...meaning the margin of error in getting your line right seems a tad wider. Some may like this, but I'm on the fence...I kind of liked the reward of getting your line just right to get in a good lap. If you dabbed slightly outside you paid a price.

Booted my PS3 and saw my PS plus thing telling me it downloaded this. Haven't really kept up all that much so whats in this update?

Never put on the wrong tyres. I put Inters on when I lost my front nose cause I though it was raining and my crash out of the pits was hilarious. I put it on YouTube. Shawnm1chae1s if you want to look but ill link it when I'm on my laptop.
