F1 201X - Updates & News DiscussionF1 2010-2016

Information! (hope this hasn't been posted yet :P)
According to Andy Gray the games embargo will end on Monday the 15th at 2 PM so hopefully we will get some video's/screenshots and according to some leaked information, there will be historic content in the game. http://community.codemasters.com/t5...tent-good-direction-for-CM/m-p/304144#U304144 :)

Good news

Yeah they were always hinting at historical content, nice to see they are going to include it though. :)

thanks for the information.

Yeah another guy from Codies said, screenshots and more tomorrow as well as Platform announcments .I'd expect a Next gen version myself.

They might have a next-gen version, but it will definitely appear on current-gen hardware.

Well the way I am thinking this is that if CM are making the game for current generation consoles then they should have announced something by now. By E3 last year we had in game footage of Austin. Unless CM are planning something special, they are definitely making it for next generation consoles.

The game is F1 2013, not 2014. A November or December release would not only mean missing the actual 2013 season completely but also be just a bit shy of 2014 and the coming 2014. It would almost be like releasing an NFL game based on the 2010 football season in 2013, or "NASCAR 2009" in 2013. Completely missing the season and year completely is a poor move.

That makes me wonder about their pricing strategy. Will the vanilla version of f12013 be priced lower than usual or will the classic edition be more expensive than the average game?

I hope we can actually race the classic cars as opposed to just using them for time trials. Looking forward to it anyway. I'm not surprised that codemasters are bringing classic tracks and cars to the series. It's a potential gold mine of dlc sales and we all know how much codemasters like releasing dlc.

Okay, after having read the article and watched the video, I can say, I am very excited for the game. This is pretty much exactly what I want, extra tracks and cool retro cars, just wish they had included the 60s and 70s as well. I just wonder if I'll be able to do a whole season in classic mode, instead of just one off races.

You can race Classic Cars.

Typical Codies with a Premium version for the classic Mode :indiff:

Game looks good though, not sure if I'll pick it up.

Basically from what I've read T-12 is nothing will be lost, but the only thing to gain is the two handfuls of old F1 cars to drive and old F1 tracks. The main meat of the game is supposedly identical to 2012 and nothing has been said or heard about as far as the expansion of the YDT. Physics engine is on the same level as before from what reviews have said. Supposedly there are five different difficulty settings to race with to help you build up. Mid game saves are there, audio has been improved, also turning off the penalty system during online play. Bigger mirrors was also said in a review if that means anything significant to you. Basically the same with minor features that could have been done in a patch during last years game.

Lighting on the Nurburgring looks great,Nitpicking here but at the Exit of Turn 5 there is a bit of a rumble strip in real life on the run of area at exit which is not there .

also does it seem a bit too wide?

Looks exactly the same to me, and I just watched Lewis's qualifying lap to compare it with.

I'm very excited about this game! Looks really nice, and on current gen consoles which is good for my wallet.

I'm really liking the historic content. However, I'm dissapointed by the fact that Codemasters aren't releasing a demo prior to its release. Both F1 2011 and 2012 had some noticeable framrate issues on the PS3 compared to the 360's almost silky smooth 30FPS. F1 2013 doesn't exactly fill me with confidence in that regard.

Edit : Looks like a lots of fun.

I'm still not following what's in the premium classic mode, from what I understoon the regular version will have all the classic cars and just 2 classic tracks ,only more classic tracks will feature in the premium classic mode.

Either way, another money grabbing move from Codies . :grumpy:

According to their their Facebook page, the Standard Edition will only have the 1980's content, while the Classic Edition will have 80's & 90's content and the two classic circuits (Imola and Estoril).

Yep. The usual drill when it comes to Codemasters and their louzy pre-order bonuses.

Oh it's even worse than I thought :indiff:

This isn't a pre order bonus. This is a pay more for this classic edition copy.

I fail to see how this is more wrong then say, PD's Stealth car/Chromeline car pre-order bonuses (or similar ones with other developers).
