Since some of you post some very impressive times,do you use;

Steering wheel & pedals / Dualshock??
Auto / Manual gears??

The reason i ask is because i'm not exactly crap at F1CE,i've been playing it since it came out on the PS2...However,i can't fathom how i could possibly cut my times by an average of 2 seconds per lap to be able to compete with some of you guys.

I use Dualshock & Auto gears...

Yeah I'm Dualshock and Auto here as well. I can see where I lose time though. I think if I had the wheel I could be a bit more smooth and really push the car to the limits. Every so often I'll have that 'perfect' sector where the car is on the limit the whole time. It's just hard to replicate that over a full lap with a controller, IMO.

I couldn't agree more...The "perfect" sector...just not 3 "perfect" sectors in a row :banghead::lol:

Yer guys I use a DFP wheel the official wheel for GT4 and I've always used manual gears never do I use auto unless on a demo or something like that.

I need to work out a setup for Silverstone ,I feel like I should be quick seeing as I could almost call this a home track ....???????? .......I see you all asking the question "But you live in Australia? " It's just that I learnt this track first, about 15 years ago,and have possibly done 1/2 my F1 driving on it.

I like this track, but I know I could go faster through a few sections. Its tricky though. I have trouble being consistent through Stowe (right hander at end of back straight). Half the time I nail it, half the time I brake too late. Priory is pretty tricky too. I'll try posting up a time tonite, when I get back.

Jesus guys, you're leaving it late. Here's my final lap

McLaren Mercedes - Silverstone

1:16.481, 25.367/31.184/19.930, Shaggy Alonso

errr, time is officially up. What happened?

Bit of a flop this week! Thought there would be a lot of interest seeing as though it was Silverstone.

But anyway, welcome Lofasz. Hope you enjoy your time here in this corner of GTPlanet.

I would have posted a time was I not having so much trouble with it. The best I was getting was mid 19s. Thought I might of had a bit of time to try again tonight but Top Gear was on, and no one would have expected me to walk away from Top Gear, right?

I hope this lack of interest this week isnt going to continue seeing as though the real championship is over. I'll update all a bit later, thanks to those who did take part. I'm deciding the next car and track now.

Strange, even Alireza missed it (his first absence) and Zed's first absence since he started. I was looking forward to taking on those two, yourself and fishfash but no one showed up leaving me to beat the field by 3 seconds!

Genius, i'm actually preparing a table with microsoft excel of the season's stats. It'll include all the bog standard stuff like points scored, most fastest laps and fastest sectors, but i'm working out everyones average points per lap and this is gonna take a while, but i'm working out everyones average speed throughout the whole season in MPH to work out who was really the fastest. It's half challenging, half monotonous but I think it'll be nice to have once the season is over.

My average speed so far is 137.4 MPH.

Great idea and thanks very much. I was trying to think of some way I could get a lot of the stats up for the end of the season but I wasn't sure how. Like when you have it complete how can you upload it?

Well I was thinking I could just add it as an attachment for people to download. Infact I was talking rubbish when I said I was doing it on excel, its just microsoft word 2007 so everyone will probably be able to view it. I'm not sure, butyou could maybe just copy and paste it straight onto the webpage.

There is a good chance I'll complete this week as my PS3 may be coming this week. PSN will either be RACECAR or GTP_RACECAR.

Hi guys, seems it was a busy week for a lot of us. Not happy about missing a week, but I may have to miss a few more weeks.
Well done Shaggy and your idea sounds good, I like it.
Hope to rejoin soon.Good luck to you all.

Hello all,

I am back today , 24 hours late, great work shaggy,
I will send a time later today just for COMPARING with shaggy,
But I know i get 24s in the first sector !!!!

Best regards,
Alireza

Ok everything is up to date again.

This week we're going to use the Ferrari F2006 around the infamous banking of Indianapolis, in honor of both Ferrari's Championship victory and Obama's election as the American president.

So good luck and please please turn out in more numbers than last week, this track is a lot simpler than Silverstone and different settings can be used either for speed down the straight or speed trough the infield. So this week should be close and interesting. 👍

I'll probably be a sitting duck, but at least I'm on the board this week.Still not to sure if I'll be able to post again this week or next!:ouch:

Indianapolis-Ferrari

1.07.794 21.613/26.029/20.152

A tenth or so of my best 1st sector but my best 2nd & 3rd.

Good Luck to you all
Jeff

EDIT : Ok I was able to get another session in, only slight improvement.

1.07.645 21.630/25.863/20.152

Well I'd really like to post a time but there are 2 things stopping me: I am absolutely no good at Indianapolis. and, at the worse time possible, with loads of new games, most excitingly LittleBigPlanet and Motorstorm Pacific Rift, my PS3 had to break. And now the wait is on ntil the first of Dec for a new one.

And zed that's a brilliant time, just one question that I can't stop asking- wheel or sixaxis?

Good luck to all

I just can't get comfortable with Indianapolis. However, I managed to muscle out a time 2 seconds faster than my previous posted PB. I would hope to get into 1:08.XXX territory, but couldn't quite manage it this session. 1:07.XXX ? Not gonna happen... :(

1:09.155, 22.095/26.576/20.484 (Biggles - G25)

Up to date!

I hope to have another go later today, aiming for a 1.07 at least.

@Pepsi: I think Zed uses a wheel, and manual.

WOO!! This sounds like a hell of a lot of fun so i'm going to upstairs right this very second and get me a time. I don't think i'll get into the 1:08s or 1:07s but a 1:09 time would be a good time for me. So all I can say is..

Up up and away!
