I can only assume that's me who you're calling out there. I know there was 1 time when I bumped you in the main, and that was when I was a tad bit late on the brakes. I made sure I didn't gain any advantage from it, and then carried on. Other than that, I was as clean as I could be, given that I was better on my tires and could therefore go a lot faster.

Rhino, I think I bumped your left side when I was on the outside passing you in T1. I can't remember if it was during the sprint or main, but I apologize.

Results and Gallery is up.
El_Aliens69 puts down some blindingly fast laps but outlaw4rc stayed consistent and came home with the first back2back weekend. well done.

The main race also was not so clean from my perspective. On a few occasions, I was almost barged by significantly faster drivers, which was surprising, given the potential damage consequences. It is the driver doing the overtake who has responsibility to do it cleanly, and I never once made an illegal blocking move. I may have positioned my car to be an obstruction and difficult to overtake, but that was my right as the leading car, as stipulated by the GTP OLR rules.

I agree and since this involved so many drivers I'm just going to do this here.
I went over the replays and there was some dirty laundry. Nothing penalty worthy but I think myself, El_Aliens69, and Rhino_WJB should be warned of our indiscretions.
Watched this from several different perspectives and here is why I think we should all be warned.
Lap1 - coming into the second hairpin Wardez had a solid inside line under braking and Rhino turned into him and didn't leave space (slight tap, no real harm done). This bump allowed Aliens and I to close up. Going over the bridge and into the tunnel Aliens attempted to overtake Rhino. Rhino gave plenty of room this time but Aliens undsteered into Rhino pushing them both wide. Me and outlaw started to come through on the inside and Aliens coming back inside bumped me, so I then bumped Rhino under braking pushing him wide into the S. Then Aliens tapped us both going under both cars through the S. He gets clear on the straight. warning for aggressive driving

At the top of lap 2 I then admittedly pressed the issue and jumped under you into Turn 1. You turned in like normal; we clipped; I skidded a bit and recovered ok (sorry about that, I really didn't get a good enough run on the straight and was impatient; fortunately I we didn't crack anything). warning for aggressive driving

Not much rough stuff for the rest of the race until Lap 13. Rhino is on dying tires, I was on fresh tires. Rhino is on the inside line aggressively defending position while I'm passing on an outside line. Leaving plenty of room my car is lined up with just enough room to speak into the tunnel. Rhino's front tires can't handle the inside line and a door bonk pushes my car into the wall doing damage to the front wheel. warning for unsafe defending

As I said no one's day was really ruined and nothing looked malicious so for now no blood no foul. But we just need to remember to dial back the aggression when running close.

Good times still :)👍

That's a great website Watson. I love the gallery shot of me breaking loose into my race ending wall hit on I think Lap 3 of the main event.

In between the races I made a couple of suspension changes to try to quell some of the understeer and slow the front tyre wear, but I just went slower during race two as seen in the best lap data. Tyre wear improved a little but after the wall hit I lost all motivation. I need to figure this car out a bit.

Fun racing all around.

That is a fair summary Dr_Watson, and will no doubt act as a good reminder. I am encouraged to see the races are being reviewed post race, and no doubt penalties will apply for any serious misbehaviour.

Don't get me wrong, the standard here is very high and the races are clean. Only there are two standards for me: Public and Private. In Public lobbies the contact and foul play is off the chart, whereas in Private race series you expect the normal rules of racing to apply and be upheld and respected by all participants.

So far this Ferrari series has been administrated very well, but yesterday's race for me showed some signs of impatience from faster drivers which was not in keeping with the already established high standards.

For my part, apologies to Wardez for the contact. If I recall correctly, at the turn outlined by Dr_Waston, my car was ahead on the leaderboard and I had no visibility of you on my inside. As for the contact with TnJF, the assesment is correct regarding tyre wear and me getting too much under-steer. I should have taken the corner slower and the contact is an accident rather than agressive or malicious driving. Again, apologies.

Looking forward to next week, and I am determined to put my disappointing results behind me and challenge for a few more points!

Good job, Doc, with the post-race summary. Looks like you are doing a helluva job administering your first series! Maybe I can make this next race since MSU has an away game. Cheers!

Just like in my daily driving I'm always subconsciously glancing in the mirror (habit my giant pickup driving father jammed into my head early) so I usually have a good idea of what the cars directly behind are doing. But I've also found that If you turn your radar map down to "2" it is a fantastic tool for seeing cars around you without having to freak out your vision with the 'look to the side' buttons.
On zoom '2' the arrows on the map are almost to scale so if you see an arrow overlapping your car you know you're going to need to adjust your line accordingly.

Thanks, I'd also like to mention that Wardez not only pulled out of this drift at the beginning of the sprint, it only cost him about a tenth. 👍
Didn't go so well when he got sideways in the main. ;)

I am unfortunately going to have to miss this round as I won't be home from work until around 4:30 EDT. Good luck and I'll catch you folks next time round.

Practice practice??

weird... was actually thinking about firing up the ps3 in few min.

1472-6118-3830-2743-1538

done tuning.

Results from 3hr practice session:

After Brosif did a 2:02.301 and said that 2:01 was do-able I thought he was crazy.
But after some tinkering got my PB down to 2:02.311. I had a lap where I was blue and on 2:01.9 pace but got sideways in the chicane and came home @ 2.4... but yeah, high 2:01 is possible but bonkers fast. And I have to really fling it through sector 2 which munches the tires. Did a stint of 2.9, 2.5, 2.6, 3.0 then the grip started to fall off and it became a struggle to keep it under 2:04.

My stable tight base setup was only capable of cranking out 2:03's so it needed some tinkering.
So if you like your horse to wag it's tail while it prances, this is the setup I settled on.

-------
Ballast position: -30
-------
LSD: 5, 25, 5
-------
Suspension:
2, -8
8.8, 10
3, 3
-------
Alignment:
1.0, 0.6
-------
Brakes:
6, 4 (7, 3 if you want to dare trail brake)

==========================
Don't be afraid of being a gear too low, the engine loves to scream and it turns better on throttle than off.
So, aliens or outlaw... show me a 2:01 =]

3. Nürburgring GP/F - September 17th
Sprint: 8 Laps (25 ½ miles)
Main: 14 Laps (45 miles)
Complete.

Official results: http://www.gate19.net/gt5/fccs1/index.php

Small group today but very fast pace... pole time of 2:01.885. :embarrassed:

Any way moving the start time an hour or two either direction would help participation?

Just a heads up if anyone is interested. I'm going to be getting some practice in @ Tokyo tomorrow after work. Figure around 6pm EDT.

Any earlier and it conflicts with the GT4 Cup I run earlier in the day. Then again, I'm not very competitive there.

Noted. Toyko isn't a good track for me so I need someone to compare with. 👍

Yeah I was thinking later rather than earlier if anything.

Tokyo doesn't get much love, but the car really likes it. Hard to get the flow but it's quite good when you're getting it right.

eesh... system update was not cooperating.
had to resort to pulling it off the www and using a flash drive

1472-6118-3615-5259-4514

Feel a little bit more confident now. Much nicer having splits to compare when practicing.
Looks like low 1:43's are the target with a perfect lap probably somewhere in the high 42 land.
Going to be scary going into turn 1 with the draft and damage on. =O

here's my car if anyone wants it:
lsd: 5,15,5
ride: 0,-10
spr: 7.8, 9.0
dmp: 2,2
camber: 2.6, 0.6
brake: 7,3

Attendance has dwindled. We had 6 drivers last week and only 4 this week. So we decided to take a mid-season break of one week.
Round 4 at Tokyo and the remaining two events have been pushed back one week.

We're switching to a live qualifying format made famous in the Flyin' Miata series and has been used quite successfully in other events throughout the year. This will add a bit of extra excitement and provide a gauge for interest.
I will be hosing an official qualifying session on Fridays before the race day (changes are in the OP). If you cannot make that time but are interested in racing just send me a PM and we can work something out. Evenings are pretty flexible for me but I'm also available the Saturday morning before the race which is probably more Euro friendly.

I'd really like to keep this going but if there isn't enough interest this weekend I'm just going to cancel the remaining dates.
Thanks to everyone who's stuck around. 👍

so... no reply. :/
Should probably just cancel this then.
Most likely but then again, that makes me the champion by default so there's a bit of bias.

We could always revive it in the winter and hope for a better turnout.

I am leaving for holiday on Saturday morning and returning one week later, so will be unable to make the remaining dates this season.

Thank you for organising the event: the management and maintenance of the series has been excellent, so kudos to TnJF.

On the whole this has been an enjoyable series. Although I was not particularly competative, I did enjoy some very close battles.

I'm disappointed and surprised to see this happen, surely I would love this were it at a better time slot for me, maybe Saturday's are to taken up already?

F430's are one of the best drives in the game, shame to see a lack of interest.

hi all, i had to skip last few races, sorry bout that, wasnt at home for whole weekends. its a shame that this event is canceled, it was fun to race on last places lol:)
