I almost feel embarrassed for people that don't research. I have already stated openly on this forum that I have been playing Forza games since day one, and GT games since 2 months ago, and that so far I prefer Forza over GT based on my GT5p and GTHD experience.

I would have to disagree with the first statement, i think they all sound crap and every car sounds like a hair-dryer. Which is the biggest down fall for the gt series and the AA in gt5p. I really hate the sound for it

And i hope they have done a much needed effort and improvement in those 2.

Really? Well, I don't think the sound is great, it obviously can be improved, but I certainly don't think it's crap.
 
I can tell you 100% that this video of the Italia is not IN GAME!

For 1 there is no chance it hell it will look that GREAT in game! The AA is perfect no jaggies nothing. The game will have bad jaggies still. Dont get confused with a movie that was made to look 120% perfect with gameplay footage.

In game will still look amazing, but no wear near as good as that.
 
I'm talking about if u have a the 3RD person view or most cars in car etc. Yes they are most defiantly hair-dryers.

They just need more of a beefy tone to them, im not talking over-kill, just a few notches more to get a nice tone.

Well it will essentially look the same way, but as you said with jaggies. The movie is supersampled to get rid of them, but certainly the polygons, textures, lighting, reflections, etc, are all the same.

Oh lol, i dont drive 3rd person... to much damn wind and road noise..

But Dj this is what you hear when you have a good sound setup.... it sounds amazing..

skip to 1:12... i want a new setup...that sounds epic.

Yeah, I'm 'stuck' with Forza on the console this gen (damn rrods basically ate up my budget by my fourth 360), but I have an old PSP-1000 around (almost a day one purchase) for GT PSP. I actually think they're both about the same in my books, GT having better design (layout, feel, carlist, etc) and graphics, but I'm really looking forward to Forza 3. Now that the graphics aren't just a Forza 1 port, I'll be able to look past them enough to enjoy the game (Forza 2 was just not my game; awful carlist, awful graphics, awful soundtrack - that wasn't even playable while racing).

I don't want to discuss too much about sound in this thread but as a car enthusiast, I don't think the cars in GT5P are cra* nor like a hairdryer. That would be more like the GT1-GT2 days. Plus if you say it would only need a few notches, then it certaintly aren't right? But yes, the sound isn't exactly first class either.

Anyhow, the tracks in the 458 video for GT5 looks pretty in-game to me. The cars may not probably be 100% in-game, but it's for sure comparable don't you think? I think as some say, only a few touches were made, not so much as to claim it's CGI though.

I got a good surround sound system in my room worth about 5k.
IMO it sounds crap as in it could be better!

I'm sure they would have taken it into account, im sure the Japanese forums have PD paying attention to it more then this one.

Cant wait for the Ferrari though! Best looking ferrari since the Enzo/Scuderia imo.
 
You shouldn't have to have a million speakers for GT5 to sound good period!!! Just start playing Shift, and what i have heard so far its better the GT5!!! I know wrong thread.

Folks who have had hands on with the latest GT5 demo say the AA is vastly improved over GT5P
 
Actually Shift and NFS in general has some of the best sound recording in video games. I forget the feature, but EA's studio is extremely advanced. Also don't forget Kaz and friends (translator guy) do not have the time to record each engine of the 600+ cars in GT5.

No console game sound wise holds a candle to Project gotham series...may it RIP..damn blurr..

Guys I really think sounds should be discussed in the sound thread, cause I keep thinking ther's something new about GT5 or the 458 video or something when I go here lol. I also don't want the risk of this thread being locked. Really, really sorry if I sound like a d***!
