On what platform will you play FH3?

The "How will my system run this game" question:

CPU: i7 4790k
GPU: twin GTX 970's, i know, no sli support.
16 gigs of RAM
and can go on either my SSD or HDD.
Single 1080p display.

Hoping for a smooth, 60 fps on decent looking graphics.

Thanks,

Nukedogger.

Last nights patch worked wonders for me. I was running Ultra settings at 1440P to keep framerate at 60+ during races. Now I can run at 4K and there is no stuttering during freeroam. The only time my frame rate even drops below 55 is when driving chase cam in Surfers Paradise. Cockpit or hood view still hold a solid 60+FPS.

The game still doesn't support SLI, but you should be ok.
I have i7-4770K @ 4.2GHz
16GB DDR3 ram @ 2133MHz
GTX 1070 with overclock to 1950MHz boost clock
Installed on SSD and after last nights patch I can manage 2160P 60FPS.

This is definitely one of those "your mileage may vary" situations due to the current state of the game so we can't determine how it will run. (Some people have the same exact builds but they run completely different from one another.) If they do end up fixing it, you SHOULD be doing 1080@60 on mostly high without too many problems.

Got the same, minus one GPU. Runs great. Ultrasmooth on 30FPS lock@Ultra/4xMSAA@1080p. @High on 60FPS runs great too. Ultra unlocked gives anywhere between 30-60, with free stuttering (so out of my league).

Thanks for the replies guys. The game was always one i wanted to get but learned my lesson from other games not to buy on day one incase of problems lol.

My system is:

i5 4670k oc'd to 4.0
970gtx with small oc
16gb ram

So should be able to run this at high settings but all the reported performance problems stopped me from buying it. But if it seems to have improved alot then i think i shall make the purchase this week :)

@Mr Latte

Finally got round to hooking up my PC to my 4K OLED and wow! Looks stunning. Also tried your custom 21:9 resolution trick and it works really well particularly in cockpit view. A few pics.

Anyone know how to get full resolution pics out of the game?

Fix for bug that prevented Windows 10 players from progressing past the Start screen with no internet connection

I turned off my WiFi to see if they actually fixed it. Nope. Exits to desktop once I get to the PG logo. Anyone else mind trying this and see what you get?

Is anyone getting 60fps with 8gb of ram?

12gb here. Doesn't seem to be enough. As Ameer said, it is not very stable.

I'm replacing my 970 with a GTX 1070, adding a liquid cooler to my CPU and also adding another 4gb ram module for my birthday. Hopefully that improves the game a bit, or maybe by then it will be fixed anyway :D

I've seen substantial improvements with the patch. No stuttering to speak of and the FPS has increased noticeably as well. I'm getting a locked 60 FPS (Surfer's dips to 50, though) at ultra except for depth of field, with MSAA x4 and FXAA.

👍

For some it might help to do the "auto detect" for the GPU again and then re-apply manual settings

Yes no doubt it looks pure class on your OLED, cockpits are much better and really a good balance in between a triple configuration and single screen. Its nice to at least on most cars get the wing-mirror in view. Now if they would only get the HDR sorted and enabled on PC.

Feel a bit torn to what game has the best visuals currently as GOW4 also in 21:9 is superb (like this though not fussed on letterboxed 16:9 cut scenes)

Will you do me a test(please) and try your display also with 1920 x 810 and 2560x1080 and give me your impressions on each resolution to the 3840x1620. Like which is the sweetspot for frame rates and image quality. You could capture screenshots with the Nvidia tool.

Im happy with my combo of Deepcool Captain 240 (cpu cooler) and obvious GPU
Much tidier than a big heatsink/fan combo and I get great temps with this...

Yeah, the game optimised itself a few times following the patch. Dunno why.

I tried to go up to 8x MSAA. Still works fine, although I dip into the 45 to 40 region and below 60 elsewhere from time to time. Still worth it.

That's a very sweet setup, man! It looks like a spaceship. Mine looks like a scrap yard

Hey cheers, its decent spec, put some effort into selecting components but nothing OTT, covered my build here With games like GOW4 upto 80GB I cant believe how quick you can fill a 250Gb drive.

PC Specs: i7 4770K @ 4.2, 16GB RAM, GTX 980Ti. Everything maxed in game with 2x MSAA.

1920x810 - Averaging 70-80 fps. Menu looks very blurry and in gmae blurry and not acceptable IMO.

2560x1080 - Averaging 55 - 65 fps. Image is much crisper and perfectly playable.

3840x1645 - Averaging 45 - 55 fps. Very good overall experience. Best for cockpit view. Perfectly playable.

3840x2160 - Averaging 35 - 45 fps. Best for overall look of the game. Looks stunning. Menu significantly better. Perfectly playable.

I'm not sure if 8x MSAA is worth using. There's no appreciable improvement in aliasing. But the jump between 2x and 4x is noticeable.

No doubt. If you can get a 1060, will already make a huge jump.
Yeah I'm most likely getting a 1070 soon, the game runs decently with it, just lots of warnings about low video memory because only 2GB of vram.

When I was having a decent time in Online Adventure, the game force closes with no error. I scoffed.

Yeah.... similar ... game is hard-crashing.... still giving 'windows is low on memory' when FH3 is the ONLY thing running ... feels like poor memory management
Plays better again but still has some core issues with the engine on W10

I noticed a definite memory creep. I had to restart the game 3x. Most races I was getting 45 or so fps, down to 30. But normal cruising I can hold 60 for the most part, dips here and there.
