On what platform will you play FH3?

There was an article on GTP that notified users about T10 starting to issue 30-year bans for offenses. Here is an update to that story:

Hundreds of users have been reporting that they have been falsely banned from Forza Horizon 3 this week after a patch close up a loophole on the drift tap exploit. Many users are reporting that Turn 10 has banned them on the basis of updating their hardware to specifications that were not configured for when the game was either purchased or updated. Other users are reporting that they received bans after cashing in awards on the Forza Hub prior to playing the game, with many suspecting on the Forza subreddit that these awards may have been recognized by the Anti-Cheat software as trainers. Furthermore, many users have received bans just because they have an external program open, in most cases, it was Open Broadcasting Software, an open source program that allows users to stream games on platforms such as Twitch.

What is known, though, is that users of the game have noticed that all of the bans have targeted PC users only, and T10 has been largely silent on the subject. On the Turn 10 official forum for the PC release, there is currently no discussion about the bans, and any user who does bring the subject up would face a ban from the forums. One user reported that he brought up his "soft ban" (the ban in his case only applied to the Auction House) to a moderator via Private Messaging, and the next time he booted up the game, faced a full 30-year ban.

One user messaged Microsoft Support on the subject. After attempting to turn the user to Turn 10's support email, which is not working, they are investigating the subject thoroughly as of five hours ago from post time.

This is off topic with people getting banned, but I was just randomly looking at the the Known issues on the forum and it said they changed the UI buttons for the PlayStation version of the G29 in the 10/14 update, does that mean they added the PlayStation face buttons? and if so do you think there could be a way to make them show up using a controller?

And we thought PD was bad at handling public relations. Not answering your fans is sort of messed up, but upright denying anything negative is happening and even silencing the critics? Those are North Korean levels of 🤬 up, to be honest.

I kinda hope I haven't been banned. I think I've used OBS while playing FH3 and some reports suggest using Discord might also reward you with a ban, which I've definitely done.

The prime suspect now is redeeming rewards via Forza app before starting the game for the first time.

If they ban me and I didn't cheat, you'll be damn sure I will then. I cashed in on like 100k credits from forza hub at once. Ban me! Lol

This had me very worried to start up FH3 on my PC this evening. Thankfully I must have started the game before getting the hub reward, since I'm not banned :)

Its a stability & performance patch ... seems slightly better again... still getting low-memory warnings but less crashy and smoother again

I'm crashing so often now after today's patch, besides that don't notice any real changes. At least things aren't worse.

Just got back ingame after two weeks, the patch really improved the performance for me. No stutters, FPS was smooth until I hit Surfer's Paradise where it'll drop to 45-55 depending on whether you're alone or in a fully lined up race. Other than that, its been a smooth 60fps experience.

1080p at 4xMSAA are my settings.

Found this bullet point in the detailed changelog for the new Nvidia 375.57 drivers

[Forza Horizon 3] Possible driver memory leak. [1826143]

Unsure if this is an actual performance deficit.

Ive not been playing much the past week or so as got into also enjoying GOW4.
Will look to compare the new Nvidia drivers and finish my own tests with different resolutions and graphic options.

4K on a GTX 1070 with max visuals is not possible to sustain 60fps but looking into possibilities to enjoy the game beyond 1080p.

I can't barely hold 30 FPS with a 970. Last night after the 2nd race I was getting chop down to 26 fps last night during races. Tons of input lag. Once I owed and restarted it lasted another hour. Poorly optimized game, so far I'm not happy. That and all the cars seem really tail happy especially under braking. Lots of spin outs I've had.

Well for me the latest NVidia drivers (375.57) and the FH3 update together cured the stutter. It's completely gone for me now.

In terms of frame rates, on my GTX970+i7 6700k PC I've settled on everything high, dynamic geometry ultra (this seems to be related to the lighting model and gives a way better result in ultra than high to my eyes), FXAA on, 4xMSAA. Getting 60+ everywhere except racing in Surfer's Paradise, which drops into the 50s.

However because there's no stutter anymore those drops to the 50s are absolutely zero problem for smooth racing. It was the stutters which made things difficult before.

Now if only I didn't hate the FFB feel on tarmac... :(

Forza has always been somewhat tail happy. But there are two pieces of advice:
1. It's very important to brake gently, since anything above 60% braking will cause lock ups and instability.
2. Turn steering mode to "normal" not "simulation". Simulation steering is rubbish on a wheel, I suspect it's there to allow gamepad users to remove some of the default "assists" but when you put the game into that mode with a wheel you are not getting a result which feels natural or driveable.

Having played a few hours on the latest patch + the fixed nVidia drivers my experience is now back to very good 95% of the time and good 5% of the time...

I'm w/ i7 4790k at stock speeds and 1080 superclock (1900mhz) running at ultra at 1440p

I think the latest Nvidia drivers improved performance, much more than I thought. Interesting

Man, the street races keep you on your toes don't they?

The street races are pretty challenging. Don't think it's the traffic is the challenge, either. The Pink Slip races are pretty tough too. When I think that bringing a certain car will be enough to win, the guy smokes me anyways.

I'm just afraid to go in an S1 car (I got a souped up Evo) and they'll blow me out of the water. I'm mostly using my C63 Pre-Order car.

For the street races I just pick a slower car and tune it to acceleration. Works every time with my FJ40, AI just doesn't know what to throw at it. Feels like a cheat almost.

I really need to upgrade from my GTX950, really lets my i5 6600K and 32GB of DDR4 Ram down.

GTX1070 would be the best option. I have the same CPU than you, and even my GTX970 kind of bottlenecks a bit. I will upgrade it as well as my ram. 12gb no longer cut it.

I can confirm that too. My game closed twice today, and one more time when it actually crashed my computer. Had to hard-reset it.

Game's running a lot smoother now though. No more infinite save loops. Still stutter buildup after an hour or so of non-stop playing.
