On what platform will you play FH3?

Usually that error indicates a driver problem. Have you checked whether you need to update any of your devices to new drivers since applying the Anniversary Update?

I updated my graphics card driver in time for FH3. Are there any other drivers I should update?

First day I've spent any real time with the PC version. Not been using my Fanatec wheel until they implement them properly. Running it on an i7 4770, 980Ti and 16Gb with a 21:9 monitor at 3440 x 1440. Getting a pretty consistent 60fps with everything maxed apart from msaa which I have off. The 21:9 monitor is fantastic for cockpit view. Getting the odd stutter, particularly when I discover a new road but other than that running pretty flawlessly. Still prefer how it looks on my Xbox One S with 4K OLED HDR tv though. HDR makes a huge difference.

I really don't want to do this already, but it seems like it's time to save up for a new GPU again. I thought the 780 would last longer than that to be honest. Ah, at least I can run FH3 at all. Not in its prettiest nor fastest form, but still, it's possible. :)

I can happily confirm that my VIP stuff is all working as well! I had an absolute blast playing for five hours this morning. Not many issues other than the game lagging after a couple of hours. I think it has something to do with server connection because when this happens I can't access any online feature.

Other than that, I found the Rambo Lambo, and a Charger Daytona! I had so much fun driving the LM002 on a custom Cross Country race. Heck, even slow suv's like the Jeep Gran Wagoneer are such an enjoyment. Just drop an offroad suspension, tires and a shorter gearbox and let it go!

I also made a rally-inspired Galant and a Legacy (Because I feel Imprezas and Lancers are a bit overused). Couldn't be happier! Lifting the suspension on these, adding some rally wheels and other stuff makes much more sense in this game. I love it!!

Even at 30fps you prefer the tv experience over the UltraWide at 60fps? I run 3440x1440 on my PC (not FH3 until Tuesday) but I'm also on the market for a new 4K TV.

Got the Ultimate Edition today, but so far my DLC is not showing. I did get the GT350 starter car but the other DLC doesn't show up. Should I just wait or contact MS?

Game runs like ass on a GTX 750Ti with a FX6300 and 8gb of ram. 1080p with vsync at 30fps and everything turned off or set to low. I get frame pacing issues and stutter (Less than apex but still present). Game runs at 30fps in open areas but drops down to 25-28 when weather effects are present or in the city

The game at those settings makes it look like someone took a dump on the screen. No but really the Aliasing looks so bad and having no shadows looks stupid. I was expecting the performance and graphics to be at least like the Xbox one version but no, considering my specs are slightly better than that of the Xbone.

Stick to the Xbone version if running on similar specs until that poor excuse of a store is fixed and the game is fixed. /end rant

Still enjoying the game on console though!

Yeah, not sure what witchcraft PG have used but the 30fps feels very smooth and HDR just takes the visuals to a whole new level. Xbox One S also seems to upscale to 4K very well. My 55" OLED tv is very good, best tv I have ever owned by some margin so I'm sure that is helping. The ultra wide is superb for the cockpit view so I'm sure I'll be switching between the two.

Really enjoy reading of peoples tech experiences so more please...

Please though, you have to try 4K native on your TV but also see below regards part of a discussion I had with guy on EG. You could be enjoying approx 50" 21:9 on your TV @ 1600p

His reply:

"I have a custom 3840x1600 resolution which is an ultrawide res, set via nvidia CP with no gpu scaling at all, it's 1:1 mapped. Looks the same crispness as full screen 4k. In fact any custom res can be 1:1 mapped to the tv unless it's higher pixels vertical or horizontal. You only need to make sure your desktop is set to this ultrawide res at all times otherwise games might display it wrongly.

My 43" tv is 40" 1600p ultrawide and a 49" tv is 45.5" 1600p ultrawide. It's the same screen ratio that The Order uses on PS4 exactly. As you say the largest 3840x1600 monitor due for release this month is a 37.5 - 38" panel. It also has no HDR and can't scale consoles to 4k obviously."

I have read that BF1 will be supporting HDR on PC so perhaps the next drivers will contain it.
Would love to see some photos of your rig with 21:9 on your TV, also by all means comment more on the HDR benefits your seeing thus far in the game, eg general colours, sunlight, caves, starry skies? Many are curious Im sure.

@Ameer67 glad to see you got the game FINALLY, so was it worth the hassle thus far?

Almost able to play...
This does seem a hard title to run I am rather surprised with the 1080p frame-rates
The "Play Anywhere" announcement and this game was one of the things that made me want to sell my PS4 & XB1 consoles to go with PC again. After 4 months of scrimping to get the funds and deliberating, waiting to see how the whole RX480 / 1060 thing would pan out I am glad based on this title that I held out for a 1070. Got the EVGA FTW ordered tonight and delighted to see the current promotion of getting Gears Of War 4 for free with it as well.

I have a feeling that the comparison between PC and Xbox One is also very dependent on how your eyes work. Some of us hate tearing, some hate jaggies, some shimmering, some regard colour accuracy as vital, others don't.

Happy to report that my VIP status and DLC cars have been unlocked as well. Glad its fixed. Grabbed all the cars and found the crown icon next to my username.

Anyone still has the DLC issue?

Also I took the step to use the default video settings and my FPS never dropped under 60, even in Surfers Paradise where it drops to 45 on Ultra. But the Dynamic setting is on Medium so the jagged lines doesn't look as nice, but hey max FPS went up to the 90 range now.

True. Me personally, I don't mind jaggies on the background and other objects as they go mostly unnoticed. What really bothers me are frame rates below 60fps, over saturation and screen tearing.

First Forza game purchase ever for me. Game itself is quite awesome for sure.

Some stuttering issues and hitching were a small issue, or still are, as it seems to be for quite many users, even the very highend rigs. Worst being around the city areas.

Lowering the Env. textures and shadows seemed to help somewhat. Some guy on neogaf did quite a lot of testing on different settings and those two seemed to be the main culprit. Others have also noted that changing resolution or some other settings didn't have any effect on the fps..
I also disabled HT (some mentioned this helped, not really sure in my case), and set higher priority for the exe in task manager.

Either way, when it runs 'normally' its mighty nice and also the sounds are brilliant ofcourse. :)
Was slightly surprised how smooth locking to 48fps looked too (my monitor is 144hz). Can't really tell too much of a difference from 60.

I think this might be a main culprit to the performance issues. One core is much more used than the other maybe? The drop off is where I exited the app.

Working for me. I thought I had the DLC issue, but I just hadn't made it to the part where you can access your stuff yet. :embarrassed:

Going to give the settings a go this afternoon. Haven't really fiddled with it yet, but was mostly stable at 60FPS, some mild drops in busy areas but none too big. Might lower the AA a bit to see if that sorts it out.

Those graphics benchmarks don't seem right, how on earth is a GTX 960 beating more powerful cards like a 290X and a 780Ti?
DX12, presumably.

Going by what was posted on Reddit recently, the game uses some heavy encryption as DRM, decoding stuff on the fly. Which is, apparently, bumping up CPU usage and leads to (severe) performance issues in some cases.

I wonder if that explains the stuttering some are getting?
If your combination of HDD/SSD, CPU and resolution/texture quality is hitting decryption bottlenecks that could definitely cause stuttering irrespective of actual GPU load....

It also explains why changing resolution or graphics options doesn't help (as the GPU is not the bottleneck, but the CPU is).

Somewhat, I suppose.

Some issues, though, I can't explain at all. The game runs like crap for some people even though they have a rig that's superior to mine in absolutely every way, for example. Oh well, there's a patch inbound that's adressing the performance issues anyway. Might be best to wait and see what that does before we're actually delving deeper into the game's performance issues 👍

The 960 seems to be beaten in most DX12 games by the 380, with the 290X comfortably beating both of them.

Quantum Break benchmark
Hitman 2016 benchmark
Total War: Warhammer benchmark
Ashes of the Singularity benchmark
Well, if it's not the feature set, that leaves two options: Sloppy programming or deliberate throttling to ramp up sales of newer GPUs.

It also explains why changing resolution or graphics options doesn't help (as the GPU is not the bottleneck, but the CPU is).
Might also be the reason for the slowdowns in certain menues (like changing rims, for example).

At high seems legit. Testers spotted some VRAM consumption problems with GCN 1.1 and 1.2 cards at ultra quality.

I have a lowly 980ti and I'm getting solid 80+fps with everything on ultra at 1080p
yep, me too, even at higher resolution and with msaa x8. Still, Surfers Paradice lags as hell =D

i am waiting for demo, after that i will decide buy or not, because i have 770gtx and i dont know if i will run this game smooth, i can play apex but it has many lags :(
