Matching is by points I believe, I was the lowest rated with 1100 points before matching took place. I see you have ~976 points after your strong showing yesterday (so slightly lower when matching would have taken place). Between those two points tallies the standings are quite crowded if you look through the below link (around 30 people, minus a few non S drivers).

I also got lucky with people not showing up. May happen to you as well, but you would need to gain a few more positions in the standings. If that's a goal, keep racing, learning, and improving, and it might happen 1 day . I only became an A+ driver yesterday, was A rated before that.

Points gap was around 15 - 17 I think
Yeah I probably should be slightly higher in the standings than I am at the moment. I get my best performances in the high-downforce cars, as you can probably tell, but I wasn't able to capitalize on the Gr.1 races due to having lost some DR before Spa and getting placed in sub-200 point rooms, and being thrown into a top-split race (albeit a "weak" one) for my only attempt at Laguna Seca. Gr.2 was kind to me though. Hopefully I can get good results in this stage and drop more of my sub-200 scores. I've got Gr.B at Tsukuba marked on my calendar.

If you were actually watching you'd know what I was talking about. The English broadcast showed up late before it showed up the audio was being mixed into the Spanish stream and they were on top of each other. It was weird

Pretty horrible night in both series for me on Saturday, after looking forward to both races for quite some time.

St. Croix - A/S lobby, I qualified a poor 14th with no set up changes. Tried to avoid a big pile up in turn 2 and ended up with a 5 second contact penalty. Got beat up and banged around for the rest of the race. Finishing somewhere around 15th with a 1,200 point DR hit and a massive 18 points off my SR!! Down to 81.

Nurburgring 24H - A/S, B/S lobby - battered and bruised from Nations, I limped to the 'Ring and put the Gr. 3 Merc on pole by a few seconds, but my heart wasn't in it. Adding to my bad mood was my arch nemesis, Mr. La Sarthe himself, qualified 4th, and I was convinced he would take me out yet again if he had a chance. Thankfully that chance never came.

I blew it into Dunlop hairpin on lap 1 and lost 2 positions. I did come back to take second, but should have won. (I made a mistake so I didn't) But the previous hit to my SR put me in a lower lobby so the 94 points were of no use.

I couldn't be bothered to run again, but at least I got a couple hundred DR back and was back to 97 SR.

Well, I didn't think I was going to participate too much in Stage 2, but I ended up being able to. I had some solid results in Nations which let me shoot up 32 positions in region (North America) rankings, 24 positions in national rankings (USA), and 1 position in local ranking (Arizona). Meanwhile, I didn't have the same luck with Manufacturers and ended up dropping 30 positions in North America, although I did move up 1 spot in Porsche drivers for the region. It's interesting that in Stage 1, Nations is where I felt I was lacking and Manufacturers was where I was doing well, and now it's flipped. It's also interesting to see how when I started, a victory in the lobbies I was in was 177 points, and now I've improved so that I can get those points in 4th/5th position usually.

Onwards to Stage 3! I'm looking forward to some of these combos, but I'm hoping I get matched better, since the previous splits I've been placed in at the end of this stage were splits where I was completely outclasses and couldn't compete for any good point finishes.

Well, Supra race was a bust. Qualified 14th with door number 19. Felt like if I can keep it clean I might have a chance at a top ten. Everybody was making muscle passes and not saving tires at all like I was trying to do. Bump passes had me down to 17th. I started making it up when mistakes started for others, we caught the pack and were battling for 15th In a pack of 5 cars....but than someone off track rejoined at my right door and dropped me to last. Made my way back up to 16th and in the heat of that battle I bumped trying to gain a spot at the hard left after the pit straight, I checked up to give him his spot back and he got into my door sending me spinning into the wall, last and a 1.5 second penalty for my troubles. 39 points for 20th.

I ran the later race thinking I had nothing to lose. Then I saw it was a room full of D/S drivers, a few B/S and me A/S. I qualified 1st with a 1.48:3 almost 1.5 seconds ahead of second. Some drivers had laps 8 seconds slower in qualifying. Should Be interesting in turn 1 I thought. But it was clean, I pulled away and won easily with a 14 second margin over 2nd....40 points, lol.

What a waste of 4 hours. I thought at least 100 points, cleaner driving in race 1 would have been far more points for 15th....ugh.

On a positive note the car was fun to drive at Sao Paulo.

So I had a horrible time on Saturday night. In Nations Cup top 16 my thumb slipped on the handbrake and I rolled forward which gave me the false start penalty but I also got rear ended and a 2 second penalty on top of that. I was in recovery mode but mentally I was not there anymore and made so many mistakes, on the approach to the second last corner on the first lap I put 2 wheels on the grass and spun on my own, I also took my last pit stop on the wrong lap. If it wasn't for those further mistakes I think I might have had 8th but ended up 11th.

As for Manufacturer Series top 16 I was just way off the pace as I didn't do much practice because I spent more time on the setup for nations. 11th again but got fastest lap because I had a massive tow on the long straight and crossed the line with mediums on the 3rd lap as I started on hards, even though I ran out of fuel with about 50 metres to go.

I've never re-entered after a top 16 to keep a record of my top 16 scores on the leaderboard for "posterity" even though no-one else cares... however I noticed on my friends list that the other good Aston driver put up a good score that would put them above me by 9 points for the end of round 20 so I wanted to gamble on the last slot having more points and not dying, just so I could try to be top Aston only because it's the end of a stage. Well the gamble didn't pay off, I would've lost points even if I won and got a 2 second penalty for an aggressive defensive squeeze and in the post race chat we all agreed while it was aggressive it was ok and not worthy of a penalty. In hindsight if I wanted to defend I should have moved earlier or just let them go and overtake them on the long straight because the OP tow.

Say, remember that one time that there was a round at Brands Hatch that forced players to use the Aston Martin DB3S, and only garage cars were permitted?

Yes, although I never entered because I didn't own the car nor have 10,000,000 credits lying around, lol.

Rounds using a unicorn would dilute the player pool resulting in unbalanced lobbies. PD could mitigate it by providing the car which they did in the past with Daily Races. I'd like the idea of a round with a provided one-make or several unicorns to choose from.

Yeah, I’d love to see a race at Le Mans (no chicane) with the XJ13, 330 P4, and Mark IV.

We had a Race A one time with a provided Ferrari 250 GTO didn’t we?

Free Practice for next Nations and Manu.

In Nations, the race requires RH, but RM are available in Free Practice. My fastest on RH for both cars, I got the Cayman .6s faster than th C7. I couldn't go any quicker than a 28.7 in the Vette.

I saw I'm still .3s quicker, optimum, in the Cayman. Couldn't piece T3. So, I left it. Saw someone went .2s quicker than me in a Cayman.
Jumped back in the C7 and I thought, hold on, checked tyre availablity and sure enough, RMs are available.

Went 1.3s quicker than my RH time in the C7! Theoretically, the Cayman should go .6s quicker on the RM. That'll drop me into the 26's.

Edit. Yep.

C7 - 1:27.402
Cayman - 1:26.884

Still going to run the C7 for the race.

Cayman is a little faster for me too, but I'll be using the Corvette for the Nations race. I like the way the Corvette still powers up the hills even when I don't hit my marks just right. Also, I want an excuse to use my Man United livery!

I did a few practice races over the weekend and a no-stop on RH's was fastest for me (in both cars). My lap times got quicker as the race went on as the fuel load lightened and tires were still in good shape. I am DR C and my lap times are a few seconds slower than 05XR8's so keep that in mind.

I'm not sure why they made a Corvette vs. Porsche Gr. 4 race at a tight, slow track that clearly favors the Porsche. Why not use Fuji or Maggiore GP or other tracks that have a nice mix of technical sections and long straights? Not to mention with tire wear being slightly higher, it gives the Porsche even more of an advantage.

The Cayman would smash the vette at maggiore, and the straight line of the vette would beat the cayman at Fuji.

At the Manufacturer's round at Maggiore GP I had a great race-long battle with a Cayman in my Corvette. I qualified in front of them, and held them off for a large portion of the race, and when they did get by they couldn't pull away. Granted, that's only a sample size of 1, but our cars seemed very evenly matched over the whole lap.

Fuji was admittedly more of an assumption, as that race was before the BoP adjustments, and the Gr. 4 Corvette was awful everywhere it went...

Might not be able to do the Manufacturers Series race on Wednesday - more thunder is forecast. Plus, I got this doctor's appointment that could take all day for as little as I know - might be emotionally exhausted by the time I'm done. I thought there'd be some lightning forecast for tomorrow, but apparently it's been downgraded to just rain, so I'm hoping I can make the Nations Cup race that evening.

I would absolutely love this. And how about the same setup with Gr. 1 but only allowing Group C cars? I'd also like to do Group C at Spa and Yamagiwa.

I'd personally prefer the group C cars to be in there own category, seeing how useless they are vs an LMP1 in group 1. Would also make for some exciting combos and a chance to actually use them outside single player or leagues.
