FINAL GT6 2016 STORAGETRUNKS GT500 BASE SERIES-Monday Nights 18:30UKFinished

Watching the replay of Yesterday´s race I was surprised with some things.
- How some guys like @TRL_Andromeda and @DannyB013 were driving under 100% water: amazing
- How @nissman finished 4th starting in last position. Congrats mate 👍
- How most of you (9) were driven all time with RH instead wet tires  - i thought was raining-
- How race started at the finish line, instead the start line like I thought. That cost me two positions 🤬
- How fast its @CrazyJohn under this weather conditions. Btw sorry for the big collision mate. I touch the grass and lost the control.
- And how slow I am under this weather conditions  - :banghead: - 🤬 - -

Me and rain, brothers!

No worries mate. And sorry for the bumps on the formation lap, the pace was very misleading.

Thank you! :) its all about being supersmooth and carefull on the throttle, and finding the wet lines, like that long lefthander from the hairpin all the way up to spoon, wich you run far out on the left side of the track all the way, then into spoon you dont necessarily need to go back to the right to get a lean angle into the corner either.

They where on wet tyres, its just a replay glitch.;)

congrats on erazer for his win , after taking back time from few mistakes and on danny who this time had no issues with other drivers...
i had the same time losses but that was before the rain started , my setup was great at 30% wet , in the dry , but it was absolutely undriveable in the wet , i love these conditions but i never struggled so much in the rain , driving was "possible" , but racing Not!! only once in s1 i was able to recover time on the leaders , once ...

I was in a kind of nightmare , sweating all over the place but not beeing able to make good times or just to have some kind of pace.

Great job for everyone .

Just out of curiosity, what rear DF where you running? and LSD settings? I was using 530 rear DF and 5/9/9 LSD, to try to make it a bit rain-friendly. I also ran -0.45 front toe, and 0.00 rear toe.

It was understeering in the dry and oversteering in the wet, but somewhere in between it felt quite alright.

Also, your main timeloss was not lack of pace, if I'm not misstaken you did an extra stop, I think thats where you lost most of the time.:)

The extra stop is where i lost 20-25sec the other 30 been my fault...
500, 5 9 5,-0.35 rear and that made it tuff ^^

Suzuka Race report in the text /emoticon style that we all love (or at least I love haha);

Spin early doors in the dry on a setup favouring the dry :irked:
Getting stuck sideways in pit entrance when rain started:banghead:
Going inters instead of full wets at first stop :irked:
Rain :guilty:
Rain :guilty:
Rain:guilty:
Finally settling into rain :)
Thinking it might rain whole race and I had enough fuel to get to end ...
Realising it was drying :odd:
Pit to RH at perfect time :sly:
Getting round to to finish 4 positions higher than Qing :)

Congrats to all for even just finishing, it's tough in the rain!!

I've got bored of wet practice after trying it for over an hour :banghead: 100% wet on inter's I managed 2.20.6xx, on wet's 2.14.something. Thats a lot better than driving backways most of the race and doing 2.40's .

Leaving the wet practice till the week before monza. :scared:

I'm going to open a practice room for Apricot hill in about an hour after some food. I've got all evening to mess about and get my setup just right for a race I get take part in

It's 9:05 pm here and I have a room open for practice if anyone wants to join. :D

Room closed.

This is a fast track, going to be some good times here. :)

So that was my best ever race result on this season. Pretty satisfied, I knew I could secure a good result since rain is my best buddy. And I thought of sharing a race report.

The start was very nice. Boosted from 9th up to 6th. But the highlight of that had to be my defence on @nissman. He was faster than me but I sincerely do not have a clue on how I manage to keep him behind me, legally. After a lap of defending, niss span out at the exit of Spoon, which had my 6th place safe, until @Jfrod caught up.

I made the same type of defence (yes, I am good on defending from the outside haha) until the moment when rain started. Just before Hairpin, Javi clipped the grass and t-boned me. Luckily I did not lose any place. But then was @DeltaJuliet just on my tail! Had to defend the same position 3 times in less than 10 minutes. However Mike found his way through, after I felt I was too violent with space issues, and though I should try to re-overtake in the next corners.

But then I got distracted by a mosquito (yes, an effing mosquito) flying around (uhhh). I killed it because it was one of the annoying noisy ones, buuuuut... I span out at the trim before Spoon! Dropped to ninth. Total disappointment.

And rain instantly made my "wish" true, the track got damp. And, of course, everyone had to pit, however I made a silly "pit-to-put-inters-when-track-water-changes-fast-which-means-put-full-wets-instead" mistake, making me drop a place from 8th to 9th (after I found niss on the tyre barriers at Casio Triangle).

Then a lot of people were forced to mistakes, such as @Daniel199025 who was struggling in rain as I saw (?) and Javi. Not to forget niss and @andp132 as well. The former made a mistake after Denger 2 and span out (and I could not take advantage from it), as well as another mistake-what-exactly-happened after 130R, which helped me get P5. My luck did not stop, colo span out on Denger 2 as well, gave me P4, where I stayed for a couple of nice moments until the rain stopped and my hopes for at least a P4 finish were coming to an end.

I made the same mistake with my first 2 pit stops. Encountered "pit-to-put-inters-when-track-is-not-wet-enough-which-means-put-dry-tyres-instead", and lost my 4th place to nissman. Not only that, but colo was catching up as well! I felt stupid again, but colo catching up was more than "I don't have that luck in races".

There was @DannyB013 behind colo, too, but as I checked Danny had nothing to do with colo's off during Spoon exit. The sun came out at exactly the right moment though, haha.

Finished: P5
Thoughts: Finally a good result after 5 disappointing rounds, and one not so disappointing (Monaco). Niss was impressing, from last to 4th, that was a big change. But the person who lost the most places will have to be Dan199025, I expected him to finish higher.

Amazing race guys, hope to see you on Q day.
