I found the SM tyres faster in the wet than the SH tyres on one tune and in my other tune, the CS tyres were faster in the wet than the SH tyres.. It never made much sense to me why it was different. I think this discussion has started to clear up some of that confusion.

Mmm, on the Evo at Stowe, SM tire drove very bad, constant wheel spin up on the straight and corner exit even with 50:50 torque split, but still can corner well

Trying to imagine running Toyo R888 GG or Dunlop Direzza 03G ( similar to SM ) in the rain / drizzle- just wet tarmac is fine on semi slick when not going 100% on the limit, but in standing water :ouch: Can't imagine ADVAN A050 R Spec G/S ( SS GT6 ) in the rain ...

That would be down to the added grooves for water dispersal & the softer compound of the rubber holding whatever temperature it has.

@Otaliema - Silly rabbit Trix are for kids:lol::lol::lol:

My Primary Car (Gorgeous and fast as stink at Autumn Ring, slow as molasses at Stowe wet)

The blue is gorgeous 👍
The pink is hideous & makes me want to puke :yuck:

Unlike @Pete05, I think the pink fits the car well. :sly: The blue on it looks decent too though.

@Bowtie-muscle I wanted to see how many people tried the CS tires in the wet, which goes against logic for traction, softer= faster is how most everyone thinks. The tesla challenge showed me that CS in faster in water than SM or less.

Now for your cars, the blue is not bad, the pink looks like a Avon winner :P

Now the question is how many people are going to run the CS tires...

Well as you have probably noticed, I have decided to run the CS tyres on my Evo for the wet race. So theres one person :)

Someone peeked:odd:, on sports hard tires and dry she ran a 55.055, 1:05.4 with sport medium and wet. CS tires improved just a little bit maybe :sly:.

And I kinda like the pink, was a joke but I like it.......anyone wanna guess the color of my Back up car.:dopey:

Textured black like my new liftgate? :D Can't wait until I can do the rest of the Jeep. :odd:

Duty brown....

In other news, closing on my house this week (hopefully) so I'll have to try to get my tune in early. Which should be easy enough since I'm not that great at making changes between tracks anyway.

I am really happy with my dirt tune. It is also pretty good at Willow. I am taking the approach of throwing everything at the dirt tune and hoping for the best with the tarmac tune.

Now, time for some rain frustration. I am trying to make a car that can complete a lap. The AYC is bad in one direction and the LSD is bad in the other. Lots of work to do.

I'm on CS the whole time :P No point in running sports tire in the wet :) I have been racing arcade races on comfort medium in 40% water-rain at Bathurst since 1.0, a stock Cizeta V16T can win a race

The question is, will I use SM at Autumn Ring or stick to CS as well, I'm not after lap time, just feedback on replica based build.

You have to change the tires as part of the comp. You could run SH to keep it close to CS or go CM.

@Motor City Hami I can't wait to try your STi on the dirt.

@DigitalBaka if you need a tad bit extra time because of closing on the house you can get it I know how unexpected things can pop up when closing on a house. Just let me know.

:scared: So, for street racers, my Evo will have CS at Stowe and SM at Autumn Ring :P, while for the Zero Sports Sti Spec, CS at Tsukuba and Grand Valley East - will this be okay ?

:P Got into low 1:04s at Tsukuba with Zero Sports STi :D

Im worried about my Tsukuba tune now. I don't think its quite as fast as yours. well not in my hands. lets hope the testers do their usual and find more time than I do.
