I really need to get the wheel for a better experience from the game. I've been told the difference is night and day, plus I guess the blind spot indicator might help. Don't know of anyone who uses it though.

Yes, it is like that.

And I use BSI but I often don't find it that useful when racing real people.

As for the ghost do as Otaliema says - I've not used full ghost for months now.

I use chase cam also, allows me to see what the suspension is doing with weight rather than trying to get a sense of feel. Blind spot indicator I turned off.

Agreed, I usually don't use the ghost, but I've been trying to follow it and see where/how any changes effect the car. Plus I wanted to show the ghost and that the run was within regulations.

Added you to the Tuners list and linked your tune. Looks good an't wait to drive it.

I also have submitted my tune for this. I might make a tweak or two by Sunday night.
FITT Viper Strike tune 750hp 1300 kg SS

Man adding a tuner past the stock set of the sheet is a more work than I was hoping for. lol only 20 steps O_o

Here it is then. Found a bit more speed in the gearing this morning.👍 It might even be drivable in auto! ;) Its still lurching around tho as I never quite got the balance right between suppleness and stability. My advice to testers is to use brake lift off rotation to get it in the corner, feather it through and nail the throttle as early as you dare!
Best of luck everyone!

Look at the state of that poor car.:indiff: I've heard the saying, "drive it like you stole it" but wow! That's it, give me back the keys!!!:lol::lol:

Did you not encounter the Giant Mongoose guarding the entrance to the tunnel? :nervous: I had to put up a smokescreen to get past him!
It has been well known since GT2, Trial Mountain monkey does not like the color orange.
Nope, both of them missed me. Must be because of my amazing speed. More like I couldn't hold a straight consistent line!

Maybe your swerving to avoid your own ghost confused them!;)
No kidding! Who else would take the inside line to avoid an invisible ghost car, not once, but twice on the same lap?:banghead: A very sad individual, indeed. Absolutely gutted :guilty:
I've got a chance to redeem myself for the testing though, I drew the 4 of spades, so 4th in the running order for my tune.

I wasn't sure that I wanted to enter until I felt that I had a better handle on the new physics. I do not get as much game time in the summer as the SCCA racing season is going so testing was going slowly. Plus I wasn't enjoying testing each setting from scratch as I just wasn't learning anything new. When this competition got posted, I thought, well, just tune one the way I would have for 1.08 then refine it for 1.09. That is working, but I am annoyed with the effectiveness of some of the settings. So I am either sticking with GT through GT7 or I am buying an Xbox and giving Forza a try. Just not sure.

I just glanced at the camber in the tunes entered so far and the count is 2 with zero front camber and 8 using camber. So 8 of 10 tuners felt that camber was faster for this time trial. @Otaliema I think you got a bit of your desire for some with and some without. My car currently has zero front and a tiny amount rear, but I don't think the difference maker will be camber. I think dampers and ride height will be the path to the podium.

My tune is pretty much done. I wanted to test a couple more ride heights, if I had time.

I can`t use the ghost or the line because I find them both distracting. I have to use the map to see if i`m ahead between spit times! :banghead:
@Motor City Hami I think you`re right about dampers and ride height deciding this comp.👍 Possibly gearing aswell with all that torque. I couldn`t be certain that camber was helping this car at this track so I just left it at zero.

I felt gains that came with losses using camber, ride height/springs/dampers will be the difference here tho.
1:21.803 I get. The car drives very nice and that was a good lap, so I can't see other tunes beating this by much, if at all, in terms of outright lap speed by the faster testers.
Do not believe my tune will be that fast, hoping comfort and consistancy gains me DC.

I think the course is too lumpy to benefit from much camber, too many angle changes across the surface from one corner to the next, makes the grip a little bit unpredictable and hard to work with. Useful for rear stability though and I've been finding that some counter intuitive tuning choices have made a surprising difference in places

To all testers, I highly recommend to use the hood view when testing the Viper, it allows better view when aiming for the apex and staying off the slippery rumble strip :D
