Here you guys go...little research had to be done between 2 posts to get this, but you can see why Hami asked the question...tuners did all sorts to mask their car.

Guess the Tuner:

Tuner 1 is ACSR421=Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione (guessed by CyKosis1973)
Tuner 2 is robrabbitman=BMW M3 Coupe (guessed by RJ)
Tuner 3 is jtqmopar=Viper GTS (guessed by DigitalBaka)
Tuner 4 is DigitalBaka=Corvette Zo6 (guessed by RJ)
Tuner 5 is xande1959=Mercedes C63 AMG (guessed by DigitalBaka)
Tuner 6 is MotorCityHami=Camaro SS (guessed by the community)
Tuner 7 is Praiano=BMW M5 '08 (guessed by the community)
Tuner 8 is Trackripper123=Jaguar XK Coupe Luxury (guessed by iainoflo85)
Tuner 9 is krenkme=Camaro Z28 COUPE '97 (guessed by Trackripper and NEWDRIVER)
Tuner 10 is RJ=Corvette Grand Sport '96 (guessed by robrabbitman)
Tuner 11 Lionheart2113=Ferrari 599 (guessed by RJ)
Tuner 12 is NEWDRIVER=Challenger SRT8 (guessed by krenkme)
Tuner 13 is CyKosis1873=Lexus ISF (guessed by Woodski_427)

You guys got it. I tuned a Chevy and painted it blue to hide that it was me. Someone else had the idea for using my green color. It was quite fun.

I may look over that car list, add and take away cars and just redo a similar challenge. Will look into it.

@Motor City Hami How did you compile that car list?

I looked at every FR in the game in that weight/power range, then built each one to land upon 535 PP as the best to fit in the most cars. I would consider banning the BMW. It had a little bit more in my testing too. Praiano was lucky enough to pick it in the draft.

Does it sound like a good car choice? S2000 vs RX8 and the 2 Ferrari's that is. Or would a larger group of cars be better?

If enough tuners would also be willing to test, than any advantage gained by testing your own would be minimal I suppose.

I really, really like the idea of vs. challenges. Keeps the cost down and the testing time down. If you did two groups, then we could cross test the group that we did not tune for. I like that idea. Then testers like @biffa3 and @Ronald6 are likely to just want to do both groups anyway.

I liked the vs way too, easier and less chance of an overdog. Also would eliminate a lottery, tuner would have choice. Will work on it and figure it out. I do like the idea of tuning one and testing the other. Any tester only can do either or both.

I wasn´t so lucky picking the M5, it was my firt choice and it was still available when come my turn to choose and i wasn´t first but just in the middle of the lot. ;)👍 The car was great of course but not so good at first against the others. It was not an overdog.

EDIT: Winning with 0.500 after summing 8 testers times this give 0.062 per tester..... definitelly, you can´t call this car an overdog.

I am just bitter that you beat me... yet again.

Had an idea for a future challenge, how about a contest where you buy any car but can only spend X amount of credits in total (Car+Mods = <75k)? I'm sure this must have been tried in the past at some point but I think it could be quite fun
i've tried that before but it takes a very limited range of money and seems to work better at high pp levels like 550+ because the elise 111r beats just about everything below that. so if you go low pp you have to have the price+mods number below the lotus. we came out with some interesting results though. it was fun.

Certain cars can always be excluded in the name of variety if needs be 👍

- Happy Christmas and prosperous 2015 to all tuners and testers, which will more events. thank you all.

A spin on this would be a price for the car and price for upgrades say 40k on the car and 40k on upgrades With no restrictions on the upgrades other than maybe tires or maybe make ties cost double or somthing like that.

That could make for something more about the tune than the car choices, which may or may not be good.

True. what about adding more rules regarding the cars specs? Like limiting the minimum weight that the car can be so you don't end up with one or two Lotus's or such smashing everyone; make it more fair.
Like a weight and power range cars must have a weight between 1000-1300 kg and power between 300-450 as examples with a max car cost of 50k and parts cost of 60k tires cost double their actual cost if more than one level above stock.
(To prevent RS tires on say a 111R)
I mostly have a power conversation sheet for Google done so finishing it for a power range challenge to convert to horse power wouldn't be too hard.

That sounds good. It would be good to see whether RS tyres on a stock 111r is in the same league as, say, a tuned s2000 on SS tyres

A series of events lead me to this old thread, time flies :)

I was deep involved in the hybrid scene, building cars like there's no tomorrow, sharing the joy of great cars ( replicas ), visit this old thread that reminds us what GT could have become with more freedom in tuning. Back in GT5 we have car sharing, gifts, and warm community here, we were close, trading cars daily, building replicas and build request for racing and having fun. GT6 killed it :(

There are great cars there only possible with hybrid, the Supra was one of the best build I ever did. Check out the beautiful pictures of the Camaro Dragster, back then real life replicas were the most fun cars to race and drive while being able to be the most realistic with hybrid method down to the little details :) A good relaxing read for the tired

With this being a personal gripe/complaint I suggest it would be more at home here:

Hybridising can be a wonderful thing if done responsibly but that was so rarely the case

agreed I would love to see it supported by PD allow us to change things like the engine and drivetrain even the wheel size not just rim size. But with how slow they been to put a livery editor I I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

I dont think that changing engines is kind of like taking shortcut, and I think that it would kind of ruin tuning for me. However, I do like the idea of changing tyre sizes.
