FITT Tuner Car Shootout

490PP Tuner Car Shootout

biffa3 (PSN: biffa3) - Mine's Lancer Evolution VI '00 – 1:10.560 8.5 DC
A good, well behaved tune. There is a bit of entry understeer to manage, but easy to run consistent lap times right on top of the ghost.

DigitalBaka (PSN: DigitlaBaka) - Gran Turismo 350Z RS – 1:10.437 9.0 DC
Nasty outside wheel spin that could have been solved with lower LSD accel. Left a bit on the table with the gearbox as 6th gear doesn’t climb to the rev limiter. I did really enjoy this car. It’s smooth, handles entry and mid-corner very well and is fun to drive. Could have been way more aggressive on exit with the LSD adjustment.

Dr_Slump (PSN: the_dr_slump) -Trial Celica SS-II (ZZT231) '03 – 1:10.186 8.0 DC
Great turn in and exit. A slight bit of mid-corner understeer. Second and third in the gearbox go by really quickly. I would have added more space there.

HaoleHatingWRX (PSN: GTP_WifeBeeter) - Mine's Lancer Evolution VI '00 – 1:11.267 DC 6.5
Gearbox not optimized. May want to learn the transmission flip method?

iainoflo85 (PSN: iainoflo85) – Nismo Fairlady Z S-tune (Z33) '02 – 1:10.539 8.5 DC

krenkme (PSN: krenkme) - RUF 3400S '00 – 1:11.955 9.5 DC
Not clueless at all. Very, very nice tune.

Motor City Hamilton (PSN: MotorCtyHamilton) - Mugen S2000 '00 – 1:10.645
Tuned this one too much on the edge. Pretty hard to drive.

NEWDRIVER2 (PSN: GTP_NEWDRIVER2) – Trial Celica SS-II (ZZT231) '03 – 1:10.240 9.5 DC
Great tune.

robrabbitman (PSN: bloodsugarrush) - Opera Performance S2000 '04 – 1:10.315 DC 7.5
Loose on entry. Very well behaved everywhere else.

trackripper123 (PSN: Ziz528) – RUF RGT '00 – 1:10.588 DC 8.5
Gearbox has a little left in it. 6th gear not close to topping out.

VTiRoj (PSN: RoJJieE) – Nismo 270R '94 – 1:12.585 DC 6.0

xande1959 (PSN: xande1959) – RUF 3400S '00 – 1:11.203 DC 6.5

Great lap time MCH, close to my own time when building the tune. Thanks for taking the time to test.

490 PP FEEDBACK

Roj Nismo 270 R In stock form, this car is quite a handful. But with a good tune on it as such,I managed to eke out a fairly decent lap.Was a bit unstable and the gearbox seemed to have a lull.

Biffa Mines lancer Had trouble turning at low speeds, couldn't seem to find the right gear when trying to do so.

Haolehatingwrx Mines lancer Nice handling car, though turn in took some getting used to.Alot of fun to drive when you get used to it.Had a bit of trouble exiting the tunnel.

DBaka Granturismo 350 Z Very easy to learn this cars ways.Gentle but firm for both the throttle and brakes got me my best times. No rough-housing with this beauty,or it will quickly turn into a beast.

iainoflo Nismo Fairlady Z This tail happy, noisy bad-mannered creation has been brought to heel.Much more civilised with this tune, its wanton desire to turn backwards at the slightest throttle input has been removed, with no complaining from the rear end on cornering, though a slight breakaway on exit.

TunerXande Ruf 3400 A bit of a slippery ride, and corner exit was a bit tricky.I figured out that proper gear selection was the best way to fix it,as the car seemed more stable with higher gear/lower RPM.Holding 4th gear from the tunnel to the straightaway was quite a thrill.Nice!

Motorcityhami Mugen S2000 Hard to control in its stock version, the tuned version is very sharp with no room for error.Edge of the track or kerbs will disrupt the car badly.Corners excellent, slow in,very fast out.Gears spread perfectly and they all get a good workout. Most red laps for me,but alot of fun doing so.

krenkme Ruf 3400 The cars natural sliding tendancy has been converted into good and proper car rotation.High speed and low speed cornering is more natural, easier.A blast to drive, with very consistent lap times.

NewDriver Trial Celica I got more consistent lap times with this Celica compared to the other. The testing session was over almost as fast as it started.Just get in and drive.Hard to find something wrong!

Dr Slump Trial Celica A nice and easy stock ride, pretty quick right out of the box,the tuned version has been turned into a snarly mean machine, with no false moves permitted. If you're careful, this car can take pretty much anything you throw at it.No power sliding here, just pure racing!

Robrabbitman Opera S2000 This car is very light and very skittish in its stock form.Yet this tuned version is making it very hard to find something wrong.Maybe the brakes were a bit soft for me,but thats a reach.Outstanding car!

Trackripper Ruf RGT This car doesnt drive like any RR car I've ever driven before.Handles the tracks edges and kerbs with ease.Turns while braking, downshifting, accelerating,or any combination of the above.A thrilling ride from start to finish, and my preferred car of this shootout.Excellent!

Thank you MCH for the DC and good lap time but is there is any more comment on my cars than Great tune :dopey:

Thank you Madboy for the DC and good lap time good that you enjoy the ride ;).

Cheers for the comments morefast, gearbox was set up for auto transmission which could explain why you were struggling to select a gear.

Thank you for testing my car I know that my choice might be better in relation to the car but I chose because I like audi cars but I feel I need to improve setup this car even asim improved my track time thanks.👍

I wouldn't change anything. It is a very good tune. The DC number showed just how much I liked it.

Uhh... I erm... may have forgot to shorten the ratios. :embarrassed: That would explain that. :P Thanks for testing it.

Rare to see the lap time standings and drivers' choice standings the same. Congrats to all, and a thank you to the testers for driving.

This was a a great shootout. It looks like there were a lot of great tunes, and it was great to see that laptimes were all fairly close to one another. Congrats to all, especially the other two on the podium for 490. I honestly didn't expect my car to fair so well.

I had tons of fun with this shootout. Great cars. Closest finish yet. Thanks to everyone who submitted a tune, tested or just stopped by for some conversation.

Thanks a lot to the tester and congrats to everybody. I'm in transit in my Native village GRUISSAN ,south of France, before continuing my trip.
I hope i'll be able to play this week end.

Have a good day everybody.

Awesome shootout, Hami! Super close everywhere with these cars/tunes. That really makes it enjoyable.

@Praiano - What a beautiful looking place! Being from a place like that and living on a beach, how do you even have motivation to be indoors playing GT?!

Found this picture of Praiano that may help answer your question...
