No idea, I'm at work for the next 9 hours.

The tweaks I made deleted the rumble strips from the inside of turn 8, maybe that's what you're thinking of. One of the huge negatives about the course maker. Wish we could just put the rumble strips where we want. đź‘Ž

Yeah, no kidding. That stinks about the course editor.
The other thing that irritates me is the lack of corner markings.
The track editor really should be able to put 200m,100m,50m signs on the outside of the straight so I have some frickin clue when to brake. :grumpy:

Again very nice pictures. What software do you use?
Can I use this one as my profile photo?

Thank you. And I use Photoshop CS3. That's it. ^^; And by all means use it as your profile photo! I really liked that one too.

Sick photos Longbow!

Thanks!

I hope I'll get to drive the "new" version of the track today, since I did like the old one after a while.

It's funny, I was actually just talking to a buddy of mine last night about this exact issue. I still have yet to drive this track, so I'm a bit nervous that I won't be able to find some good markers to use as braking points. I've never been very good at eyeballing it, so this week will definitely be a challenge for me.

Maybe GT6. :indiff:

I'm still hoping they can patch it in. Given that the scenery at Eiffel is so barren corner markers are even more important. And they have all the tools they need already. It's not like the game doesn't know how long the tracks are.
But then the course editor does feel just tacked on feature bloat in GT5... I was so underwhelmed the first time I went in there I've never gone back.
Maybe they'll have a proper creator on the PS4 where I can say "straight 280m, right hand 98° corner, straight 1mile, chicane, straight 42m, left hand 120° corner decreasing radius"...

Tweaking parameters on a randomizer is not a track editor. :yuck:

Cool, I use CS3!

OK, sadly I had to crop it, but I think it still looks good.

It take some patience and a bit of learning to get it to do what you want. And it doesn't always cooperate. I avoid any courses with huge elevation changes and corners that go up a hill, turn, then go down. Corner sharpness adjustments tend to move rumple strips around, etc. Sometimes it takes me 3-4 hours to get a track right, and even then I may sometimes determine that I can't get just one section to be exactly the way I want it, so I'll ditch the whole thing. Gets frustrating sometimes, but tracks like Twin Cities and the new one I just made a few days ago keep me interested.

What time's are you guys running at Twin Cities? Finally got the flow of it after about 5-6 laps and I started running high 1.36's. Pretty sure it can be improved drastically though.

When in doubt, use less than 100% brake and ease the car in. That, or try to find something as a point of reference, like the painted stripes at some of the guardrails, random markings on the track itself or even a point between trees and experiment.

My favorite is when you adjust one little thing in one section and it changes the whole layout. Sometimes, it's infuriating but in other cases, it opens out a whole new range of options.

On a related matter, last night, I tweaked one of the tracks I've created in the past and with the Miata, I am loving it. It's just under 2 minutes to get around, it's easy to pick up, the corners are well marked and not blind AND I could see up to three passing zones. Now I just need a better name than "Monteverde Speedway" and we could have ourselves a potential Season 4 track. :sly:

Open up google maps, type in the name of a city then just scroll around until you find something that works. I tend to look at the landscaping of the Eifel courses and look around in areas that would look similar. (not Arizona, lol) Areas with rolling green hills and lots of trees.

I just did a 35.5 on the revised track. I've been about 2 seconds slower than the fast guys on the first version so I bet you'll see some turning 33.5s.

New track is faster. Top guys are in the low 34's. Aderrrm should hit 33's.

Oh god, i'm completely off pace hahaha. Heck, i'll run some more laps in. Some of the corners really catch me out though, as it seems that the best line would be to dive straight into them, when actually you have to go wide, then dive in. :yuck:

That's actually how I got Monteverde. My track is the Toscana one so I need something Italian. I kinda want to call my track Spaghetti as a joke but I might go with Capanolli or Monterey.

Actually, I think the new layout is going to compress the times given that it's easier to drive. I'm not sure if I'll have time to find a 33 by Sunday.

I don't use Toscana for anything other than rally style tracks.

I just got my wheel a couple hours ago. Love it.
I know the DFGT doesn't have the best force feedback in the world, but it's good enough for me. I'm turning laps close to my DS3 times already. When I first got it, I could barely drive in a straight line. Two hours, it dawned on me what I was doing wrong. I was still driving like I was using a PS3 controller.
The wheel stand Pro works great. I really think at this rate I might be using it for this Sunday's race. Great wheel.
Also, for some odd reason, this car is a bucketload easier to drive with a wheel.

DFGT is an excellent wheel. A real bargain for what it offers.

FFB is on par with a G25/G27 added Realtime Adjustment buttons are sweet. Especially for spec racing. You can get to the brake balance so fast and easy. As well adjust with ease.

Only really draw back is soft pedals. Many cheap fixes around to help the brake side mainly.

Congrats and welcome to a whole new world of Racing games. :) you are now at the sim level.

Is anyone up for some practice races? or got a room up already ?

ROOM OPEN - 1472-6118-4216-8214-3766

Dude WTF!! why did you just kick me out of the room!!

You should check the freakin thread to see if someone is part of the freakin series before you go kicking people out!!

There goes my chance to practice with other cars on the track. What an idiot!! Guess I'll head to my lounge.

That reminds me. I have about 30 minutes on the first track, but haven't even downloaded the new one yet. I am looking to be in trouble come Sunday as well.

I repeatly asked if you were in FMSC no answer no one else knew you....so I kicked you, all you had to say was yes i'm in FMSC. theres like 40 odd drivers in this series how am I ment to know, Anyway Sorry for kicking you I'm out the room now so you can rejoin, I believe the room is still open .....:dopey:

I totally didn't notice that you guys were talking to me I was focusing on the track. I can't get back into the room though, it say's I'm blocked.

Sorry for going off like that, all I saw was you say if you're not FMSC please leave and since I knew I was in the series I ignored everything else that was being said because I was taking my first laps on the new track and was trying to figure out the changes.

Opening a room since I can't get back in, changed room, had to make sure I had the right version of the track CLOSED

Sorry, they asked like 3 times before they booted you after you didn't respond.
I'm sure you won't go unrecognized again.đź‘Ť

Don't feel to down, that's what I had before tonight, spent about an hour, still running a bit slow, 35.4's, but I never expected to take the time to properly learn a user-created track, that's hard man!

BTW, sorry to say Turbo, track was better before the change, took a couple of tricky corners and made them boring imo. But I guess it might work better for racing so wide.
