...it doesn't have the capability to have actual game audio come through.
I don't understand why anybody want's game audio to come through a BT headset, it's meant for communication. Your speakers are how you hear the game.

What's the problem? :D

Goin off to college, not sure my roommate wants to listen to engine roar. I always jack up my volume which is why you guys get alot of feedback from my mic :) I don't have the money or space for a good set of surrounds so I think a good pair of headphones are the next best thing :)

edit: thanks schaden ;)

Do you always wear lipstick when you race Graham? Kinda creepy.

Epic idea for a racing series.

Fully tuned Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione = Awesome. :D

I have only driven that car in the Special Events at Eiger. We ran it for the WRS a few weeks back. It was an absolute blast. A RWD beast. I don't know how it would be fully tuned, but I like where you are going with this.

ohmygawdyes

I had no idea what you wrote until I quoted you. Thankfully, without that horrible font, it almost makes sense.

Headphones with built in mic, sure. But BT headsets should never use anything other than chat audio.

I haven't bothered, I like it stock just fine. :)

I like mine stock just fine as well. Except I tuned it all the way to see if I could do Egg's Nurb challenge and missed by 17 seconds. That's when I realized, and confirmed after driving it at a smaller track, that is freakin' awesome fully tuned. (stock exhaust though)

Haha I love that car :) and my illegible and unintelligible regurgitation of a word-like sound was my attempt to properly portray my enthusiasm :D

Speaking of Alfas, I would really love to do a series with the Giulia GTA or the Giulia TZ2. The TZ2 is such a great car to drive and the sounds are amazing!

My old man's friend is obsessed with Alfas. Said in a thick Argentine accent; "But it's the Giulia, Ron! Tell your father how beautiful she is Junior!" He actually wrote a book about one of the Alfa GTAs that he owns.

My favorite of Bernie’s Alfas has to be his 1972 Berlina. He is the original owner of the car and after it served its duties as the family hauler he decided to turn it into a truly unique and original racecar. Plus it is purple (eggplant), and we all know how much I love purple cars!

Here are some photos of one of his GTAs and the Berlina, respectively:

After running so many Miata races, I'm in need of something FAST.

Tell you what, that 8C just puuulllls down the straights. Crazy speed and doesn't sound too bad with the stock exhaust. If anyone wants to build one, basically install everything except leave the exhaust and the transmission stock. (gearing is good stock) I'm running mine on Sport Soft tires. 👍

I've been thinking about a TZ2 one make series for a while now, I'm shocked nobody has started one yet. Get on it Broseefus.

I don't like the feel of using a bluetooth set. Audio comes through more clearly through a headset and I have my PS3 right next to my TV/computer monitor desk area so I prefer a cable anyway. The mute button and volume adjuster's also better and such so yeah. It doubles as my PC headset too now so it's all gravytrain style budskie.

I'm still rather confused why people need *special* headphones for a console?
I just plug my trusty old sennheisers into the headphone jack on my stereo for the ps3. Or into the headphone jack of my sound card on my PC.

>Alfa 8C

Don't have that car yet, but it is on my list of "cars I want to buy eventually"

I would purchase them because I don't have a sound system and my TV only has a Digital Audio Out.

My TV doesn't have a headphone jack, but I have the sound from my PS3 going directly to a decent stereo, which does have a headphone jack.

I can always count on your good natured enthusiasm.👍

Brosif..
Awesome cars. Very cool pictures as well. It looks like the red one would have been perfect for the GT Academy. Is that a grass mower under the front skirt?

Out of curiosity, when you guys use "regular headphones," what do you use as a mic?

I'd be down, honestly I'm getting tired of the Miatas and their slowness. Imma go build a car now. 👍

One thing though, are we using aero? I'd rather not if you haven't decided yet.

Red, I use a really cheap PS3 exclusive wired headset, works great.

that's odd... never seen toslink only on a tv.
you could still pick up a $3 RCA to 1/8th adapter and just run the audio off the analogue multi-out ps3 cable.

cell-phone bluetooth.
though, I don't talk much if I'm using the cans since I put those on mainly for concentration purposes.

Yes, all aero mods.

Yep, all the other connections are "IN". Are you saying I can plug the standard A/V cable into the system and just use the audio part of the cable? Doesn't the PS3 get confused as to which one to send the signal to?

Yep... my receiver is about 20 years old so it pre-dates HDMI. So I run video over HDMI to the TV and have the ps3 multi-out pushing analogue audio over the old fashioned red and white RCA wires. Just have to tell the ps3 in the system menu that you're using multiple outputs.

I was thinking the same thing about my business trip. 👍
Btw, good job almost choking against the hawks. ;)

We were just keeping it exciting

I might be down with an 8C series on sport tires after the Miata series. Never driven a tuned one yet so I'll have to build one up. It really sucks that we can't drive offline with the same physics as online. There's no point in tuning a car's setup offline for an online race series :grumpy:

Maybe we'll get the 4C as an update or DLC, sooooo sexy! 👍

Actually, you can get away with a bit of tuning on the tracks that are featured on the endurance races since tire wear's on and you can flick on real track grip.
Just compare your fastest online lap on Tsukuba with the moto-chicane (if you practiced for it) to your fastest lap in the 4 hour Tsukuba endurance race running it the same way. Then you'll see how close the "offline physics" come to what you're used to online with the tire wear on.

Only problem is that you're limited to Grand Valley, Tsukuba, Suzuka, Indy, Sarthe, and the Nurburgring.

I'm thankful for Tsukuba at least :)

btw. To answer some people's questions about why I choose to have the headset:

I was using a logitech headset before. This is a wired USB set that is plug and play compatible with the PS3.

I wanted to have a set that had all of the following (without me needing to buy a receiver):
- good bass response
- loudness (room mates)
- good clear mic with the ability to reduce the chat volume indepandant of game volume
- works on the Xbox 360 and PC
- comfortable over ear cups

I couldn't have that with a regular headset or headphones so now... I do have all that - make sense?

I might purchase a pair of those shortly. Do you have them already Wardez or still waiting on the shipment?

Also, I just finished another created track that I think has some potential. Which also got me thinking. How cool would it be to run a whole online series based on brand new courses from the track creator? Obviously they would all have the same scenery, but you really shouldn't be looking at trees when you're trying to race.

And another note, given the fact that online handling is a bit looser depending on the tires, I think the Alfa on Sport Softs online will be a handful. I'm leaning more towards the Racing Hards. If you guys want to do some testing and give me your thoughts that would be great. :)
