OH and I would take an STI over ANY awd car of any kind.

ANY awd car? Really? Those are pretty crazy words there my friend. I can think of more than a few awd cars that I rather have than an STI. And by a few I mean a dozen. :)

Man this Danicar (Indycar) race is really cramping my Hardy Boys. It's no mystery! Just let them wreck, it's the only way their races are entertaining anyways.

I stand by my statement :) (sans the r8...)

At least you're getting to watch the race :grumpy: stupid network tv.

You, my friend, are what we call a cheap date. Or maybe, an easy man to please.

Hahaha perhaps if you listed my options I could be corrected, I'm just having a hard time thinking of too many AWD's that can beat my emotional attachment to the STI :)

Just pasted this into Google translate and... Spanish is weird. :odd:

lol almost all i wrote were mexicanism, so literally yea its weird XD. at least online gaming will b restored, havent touch my wheel since the psn outage

Well,

Porsche 911 Turbo
Nissan GT-R
Lamborghini Gallardo/Murcielago
Bugatti Veyron

Well i think i comes down to this. Theres no decent AWD's that would be cheap unless you want an old model or a Suzuki SX4(lol the suzuki). Instead get a Golf/GTI, or a ford fiesta. Their fwd subcompacts that are light enough that in the event that you do get stuck( which any fwd car will) youll be able to push it by yourself.

Prepare for what will go wrong.Light car easy to push lol

I've never gotten stuck with FWD and snow tires in the winter!

i was just thinking on a hill. Well anyway its my excuse to get a fiesta or a gti. those are two nice looking cars for a first timer

I'm way past first timer :) I currently own a Scion TC which is much quicker than a fiesta. An r32 wouldn't be bad if I could find one cheap, but the idea is to buy a car on the cheap side, so I can have money to modify and pay for school.
I've never gotten stuck with FWD in snow, it's all about maintaining speed. RWD is a totally different experience though.

edit: 4wd porsche is just wrong :grumpy:
GTR is just a fat fast computer
Lambo's are awesome, but not beautiful, which if I'm spending that much money, I want beauty.
Bugatti

I guess my reason for buying AWD would be because I have an intense obsession with rally soooooo since all those cars are useless offroad (except maybe the gtr) I still say sti. Oh and the R8 is just plain gorgeous IMO :)

Hmm, that would be fun. I wish they sounded better in-game though. :indiff:

No kidding, I wish the M3 sounded like this:

Not bad for a factory accessory 👍

If we wanted to run an M3 spec series, we could truly do a spec series and use the one from the recommended garage.

I can live with an AWD Porsche when they make runs to 60mph in under 3.0 seconds and, IIRC, the AWD Porsche 959 has a very successful rally history. :)

Would you guys sooner run a series using the RM Acura NSX or RM 69' Camaro?

I want to say I would like the Camaro more, but I have to go with the NSX.

See, I'd sooner use the Camaro, but everyone else seems to want the NSX more D:

Honestly I'd be fine with either, I've never driven or owned either of them so I can't even really talk. :sly: I reason I say NSX though is that the Camaro seems like it would be more of a handful at this level of racing.

Actually, I've used both, and the Camaro seems to have alot more rear grip.

Probably because of the fat rear tires.

idk. its up to you mule. put a poll up in an interest thread. i know youll pick the one that attracts more people

I'd say NSX just because I am a huge fan of the new camarao but haven't tried the old one yet :/

What exactly does the front lip do on the 89 miata. Is it for looks or downforce. its not adjustable. i think im going to go test the car without it.(is that legal?).
I think it's a looks thing, but just a heads up - turbo makes fun of me for my GT car being illegal because I have the wrong front lip on it :P

on a side note. Lets all cooldown to the Senna Documentary. its in the instants on Netflix for pc. R.I.P Senna

Now THAT I can get on board with...unfortunately...my only access to netflix is my ps3 :(

Legal, yes. I just have it there because I think the car looks better with it. It's a shame they don't have the factory rear lip to match. I've seen guys in real life run brake cooling ducts from the openings. Something I was going to do on my car but never got around to it.

And can we keep the arguing out of the thread please? I'm going to see if I can get all those posts deleted...

Netflix works on the PS3 even with PSN down. Just try to sign in, it'll say the network is under maintenance, but netlfix will still load if you don't cancel it out.

Also, the miata 6 speed is too notchy? HA! I assume you've never driven a mustang. My first two cars were mustangs, and the miata 6 speed is like butter in comparison, and compared to all the 5 speed miatas I have driven it is about the same. If the tiny differences in the 6 speed's feel make you unable to find gears there is something wrong.

Another note - this one for STIG. One thing to consider with the later sport package is the brakes. For some reason many of the aftermarket brake components say that they do not work with the sport package brakes. Not really sure on the specifics as to why that is... maybe Turbo can educate us.

Sounds good :) I can vouch for the mustang having a bad tranny. I test drove one when I was looking around before buying the TC. It was awful. Just awful.

Mainly going by word of mouth, but it was common to hear people talk about the 6-speed as notchy compared to the 5-speed. That and miss-shifts were quite common when pushing the car hard. Like I said, we did many 6-speed to 5-speed swaps (mainly on Mazdaspeeds) and the owners were extremely happy with their decision.

Depends on what's being replaced? As far as I know, the factory sport brakes use different/larger calipers, larger rotors and pads. Pretty sure any aftermarket brake line kit should fit the car with no problems. That should be about it?

Edit: Don't think it really matters, but the brake master cylinder, proportioning valve and brake booster were all specific to the sport cars as well.

What i mean is that even many big brake kits say that they do not work with the sport suspension. Maybe the mounting for the larger calipers is slightly different? I know the FM BBK works for all models, and some others do, but in general the miata aftermarket seems to be geared more towards the normal suspension for some reason. There is significantly fewer options with the sport package as far as brands and source of these parts too.
It's odd considering that it is reasonable to assume that when the sport package was new more enthusiasts would purchase it over the regualr set up, and these people would be more likely to upgrade later due to the fact that enthusiasts are never satisfied with a stock car...

I wouldn't see why they don't fit. FM has different caliper mounts for the BBK depending on which year of car. I can't remember how many they have though, and they are not listed seperately on their website. The uprights are the same as far as I know. You can put the factory sport brakes on an earlier car just by having the calipers, brackets and rotors.

Honestly have no idea.

I see.

Also, check the news people. Apparently saying it is too off topic for this forum? I dunno. My comment got removed for some reason.

Moderators: The thing I mentioned is something the be happy about and a heck of alot more important that the two people bickering a couple pages back, so why the heck was my comment taken off?

Edit: If I made a typo in the name of the person.... well I understand why it was taken off.. I hope i didn't!

I had a moderator clean up the bickering, but they also put a note on your post that it was off topic so that's probably why.
