I remember a discussion where those restrained from running an adjustable proportioning valve(scca autocross) for their brakes tested various prop valves from different year miatas to adjust brake bias. As we've seen even in game the front could use a little more bias for the miata.

I've just bought a RUF BTR. I have to ask... how the hell do people PROFESSIONALLY drive this car? Honestly... saying it's a hand full is SEVERELY undershooting how I'd describe the car. I may as well have probes stuck in every single orifice of my body in order to better manipulate this crap. /endrant

About the BTR, you don't professionally drive that car. It just half-drifts everywhere, which somehow turns out to be pretty quick. :sly:

Also, the miata 6 speed is too notchy? HA! I assume you've never driven a mustang. My first two cars were mustangs, and the miata 6 speed is like butter in comparison, and compared to all the 5 speed miatas I have driven it is about the same. If the tiny differences in the 6 speed's feel make you unable to find gears there is something wrong.

I worked valet for a summer at a hospital and a swanky restaurant. So I've shifted just about everything that moves. But "better than a Mustang" does not mean "good" in my eyes. :yuck: It's not that the 6-speed is a bad transmission in and of itself, just that it's much worse than the 5-speed by comparison.

Haha I worked at a car wash all through high school, sooooo much agreed with that :D

Hey guys I'm thinking about cancelling one of the races to shorten the schedule a bit before I leave. Would like to keep Laguna as the last race, so that leaves us with Tsukuba and Autumn Ring Reverse. I think Autumn Ring would make for some better racing than Tsukuba, making it my choice between the two tracks.

What does everyone else think?

I'd be alright with removing tsukuba I suppose although it is sad that we never really even got any practice races in. The chicane really did liven it up quite a bit :)

I'm on the fence with cancelling Tsukuba...

I hate the track and it's so boring, so I vote yes.
OTOH, I am doing the Roadster 4 hour later tonight... so I'll probably have plenty of practice and the ability to run a nice hotlap for qualifying. That would make me vote to keep it.
Although, after 4 hours of continuous Tsukuba, I'll surely be sick of it. So there's another vote to ditch it... I say ditch it!

Monday Miata Madness begins in about 4 hours. Yay (sarcasm).

+1 on canceling Tsukuba for me.

Autumn Ring is a much more enjoyable track.

Anyone else notice that now that PSN is coming back the online racing subforum has had a boom in activity? :sly:

Oh and +3. Because APPARENTLY my vote didn't count ;)

I am down for ditching Tsukuba. I still have some concerns over people 100% complying with the utilization of the moto chicane so this will make any potential headaches a non-factor.

There is a slight chance that I could miss the races on Sunday. I am leaving for the Kentucky Derby on Thursday night so I will have to try and qualify early if PSN is back up. The Derby is on Saturday but we aren't leaving Louisville until Sunday morning but that should leave more than enough driving time to get back to the Mitten.

Edit: On a more exciting note, I picked up my Obutto last night and am leaving work right now to set it up right smack in the middle of my living room. I am sure my roommates will really appreciate that but seeing as I haven't touch GT5 in almost two weeks they have had a long enough break from car noises. :):):):)

^^^ LOL

On a less exciting note, I just had a weird call at work from someone saying I was being sued for a payday loan I took out since I started working at my current job and never paid back. They had my previous address, the last four of my social, and the company I work for. Funny thing is, payday loans are illegal in Arizona so it's not possible to get one down here. I did take out a title loan on my Sentra, but that has since been paid off, I got the title back, and the car has been sold.

I've since checked my credit today and canceled my debit card. The guy said he would forward me the paperwork, so not sure what to do here..

And I have canceled the Tsukuba race and updated the first page.

Damn dude that's some sketchy stuff, did the guy leave any info or was it more of a threatening phone call?

To be honest, I'm waiting for something like that as well. You don't steal a ton of private info from Sony. And there's plenty you can match to some other databases to make the scam sound more legit.

The first guy had an indian accent and was a bit hard to understand, but when he asked me if I wanted more info he passed me on to someone else. That guy had me confirm the last four of my social (I did NOT give him the whole thing) and said he would forward the paperwork to me. I gave him my PO Box which is not tied to anything, so we'll see here shortly what's going on. I may take the papers to a legal office and have them confirm that they are real. (possible?)

Oh, and I got my passport! :dopey:

Hmm good thing you're smart about your info. You know there will be people who will be incredibly dense and give out their info. I'd say you can probably figure out if they're fake yourself also if they ask for an out of court settlement, thats a dead giveaway.
Do you think it's related to the psn issue?

oh Turbo. this was most definetly a scam. With things like this they almost always mail you a letter first. They never contact by phone. Indian dude you say....such a scam.

He didn't say anything about a settlement, but it might say something on the paperwork. Not sure if it has to do with PSN, but there's always the possibility. I don't remember giving out my SSN to PSN (shouldn't have to) so they must have gotten that somewhere else.

The second dude spoke perfect english, kind of had a southern accent although it was hard to tell. I haven't received anything in the mail before this call.

I don't mind Tsukuba being canceled, as I wasn't a big fan of using the chicane.

Dudes! Maxed out Fireblade with a blower is effing tronicle! I'm driving it with Sport Hards at the Ring and let me tell you, it is ridiculous. I am going to put some Sport Mediums on it and see what I can run.

254 HP, 369 KG, 625 PP, requires a driver with large attachments!

Lots of updates I see, I been gone for awhile, work and other things. So Autumn is the next race(hopefully), how is everyone doing with PSN being down?

Doing....nothing. :P

Watching a bunch of movies, making custom tracks. Not much else to do.

I taught myself to drift properly. Then discovered last night that drift mode is much slippier than free run. Yaaaay wasting time! Oh and I bought 7 more miatas since the outage started.

Monday Miata Madness went well. I used the Spec car from last season (with all power mods removed and SH tires). I did about 75 laps on the first set of tires; I made it up to first within about 5 laps or so and then drove the rest of the stint with both of the 1800's sufficiently in my mirror most of the time. Occasionally 2nd would get a run up on the final turn due to having more grip on SS tires. Once he got to my inside through that sweeper and it was a drag race to turn 1, I had higher speed on the outside but he managed to stay right next to me through that and the S turn all the way to the inside hairpin. After pitting around 90 minutes it took me probably 15 laps to catch back up on fresh tires and by that time they were caught up with traffic. Of course the AI doesn't make passes very well, so I got around everyone and had a pretty boring rest of the race. I pitted again around lap 140 with just over an hour left. Even though I thought I handicapped myself enough for an even race, I still won with a 2 lap lead over 2nd. Maybe CS tires would have been better.

Pretty sure I did the same thing as you. I actually started the race on CS tires and found it a bit hard to keep up. Switched to SH and it was too easy. Weird.

I'm going to try and make a few more tracks tonight.

Also, I made one on Toscana the other day that was pretty fun. I grabbed a Celica GT-R lightly tuned to about 300hp on sport hards and ran it just like I would in real life. Tried to stay on my side of the road most of the time and just cruised through corners not pushing the car very hard. Almost felt like I was out for a Sunday drive. Almost. :P
