If you're going to lose on purpose the first day just to try and get home early, you might as well call them and tell them to give your spot to the next guy in line. I'm sure RackAttack would love to take your spot.

LOL, I am going to give it my all. I'm just thinking realisticly. Time trials where you have infinite attempts are a lot different than actual racing, which i dont have experience with. We'll see when the checkered flag drops.

Well, if you never raced online, or dont race at all, you are gonna have no chance in hell really......well, I mean i dont know you or anything, not trying to be rude, but "realisticly" these guys have been practicing, practicing, practicing, the pace that these guys can run is amazing. I Highly suggest you get online in one of these rooms before you go. Hearing about how fast these guys are, and racing with them is totally different. As someone said earlier the group as a whole is getting faster and faster with every night of racing. So i hope you do well, but I also hope you dont ruin someone elses chances (with lack of racing experience).

Crap....I wish I could hop on. Unfortunately the house rules are when my 3 year old is awake the PS3 isn't on. It was a deal upon purchase of the PS3. I may be able hop on when he goes down for a nap but that's if I get my errands done in enough time.

Hey, no worries. So it looks like it's not quite so easy to build for whatever reason. I'm going to try this frankenstein thing out, and see how it goes...but I would like to compare with the tuned 370z to see if I can get it closer.

The irony is that I totally suck at drifting
I don't think that's ironic...those cars shouldn't be drifted. Usually the one who can keep the back end in line for a neutral/oversteer car will be the fastest. They turn on their own so you don't have to drift them.
Watch the fastest Porsche GT3 RSR drivers in the ALMS GT2 class - they usually only make minor adjustments, and the back end is always kept under control.

So after some testing - I think this is the closest setup:
Modifications:
- Sports wheels
- Wing type 2 - rear aero set to 5
- Weight reduction level 3
- Carbon fiber hood (final weight is 1249kg)
- Engine Tune stage 2
- ECU Tune
- Sports Exhaust
- 6 speed close ratio
- Fixed sports kit
- Sports Medium
EDIT - after side-by-side comparison, there's no way to get the same amount of front downforce that the actual Tuned 370z has. However, with a wing and aero set to 5 (lowest value possible) the balance of the car is similar.

Funny my connection did the same thing when we were in my lounge...Menus wouldn't load arrow moved once ever 15-20 seconds....
Blind I tried building one...i don't think even with the weight reduction you can get it that close...still felt a bit too "big" too me..

You get the GT-R GT-Academy version by completing all S Licenses.
You can purchase the 370z from the new Nissan dealership - we usually run comfort softs, but it comes with sports hards from the dealer.
You canNOT buy or earn the Tuned 370z GT-Academy version - you need to win it via ticket (generally the 1000 ticket or level 12 ticket), or you can have someone trade/gift it to you. Another alternative is to build one - buy a stock 370z from Nissan, and perform the mods in the post above. It won't be perfect, but it'll be close enough to practice with.
Anyone on here know a good post outlining how to copy cars? A couple guys have the 370z, so we could distribute them if we knew how to copy and gift.
Also, does anyone know anything about "share with friends" and "online cars" - how do those work, and can you race them online?

Ah,now I'm more relieved.
I joined You guys briefly for the Rome race(which is a track I'm not particularly fond off...),just when I thought we were going for my beloved "Green Hell"...lost connection to the host.
At some point I thought maybe my car was lagging or something,or that You guys found me very slow to race with You(DS3 here
).Now I see that wasn't the case.👍BTW,very fast and clean pack the lot of You...if You don't mind I would be looking for Your lounge at times(whenever I need an Ego check
).

You have to back up Your data to an USB pen,then gift the car...then reinstall Your previously saved data.You give the car to someone...and keep it.
But it's against some people "beliefs"...so if You don't mind owning a "duped" white 370 Z GT Academy add me tonight in PSN and I'll send it to You,if You don't mind repeating the process(5 mins wasted in loadings) and gift it to whomever wants it too,within Your group.👍

I'm pretty sure that you cannot 'gift' the Tuned 370z anymore since they made it so you cannot gift cars worth over 1 million credits or cars recieved as prizes. Oh and you do not win it for reaching level 12; you win it only through the 1000 ticket by getting lucky. In order to get that ticket you have to complete all 9 racing events in the 'Amatuer' (IIRC) level. looks like I will never have one unless we all get one for GTA or I start a new account and get lucky
Edit: Nevermind, I take that back since I just saw that Forced was gifted the Tuned 370 earlier today lol

I am not sure what you guys have decided on, but I have a suggestion.
Set the PP or HP/Weight level to a certain amount, then just verify by looking at everyone's car that everyone is in the same model of vehicle, then let each person get to the PP or HP/Weight however they please. Everyone will be in the same car at the same PP level so it should be fair, and would bring a fun tuning aspect in.

Yup - good idea. That's basically what we've been doing. We ran stock 370's all night (not on the recommended list) - we didn't even need the regulations anyway because everyone was super honest. In fact, some people even downtuned their power if they had done an oil change to make sure they were getting the most out of the lobby.

That was a brilliant drive Nick
(Got that one saved on replay btw - now I just need to put a NICE collection of my replays up on YT sometime soon!). The draft kind of saved me though, as I kept making some stupid mistakes throughout most of the race (getting out of shape or snagging a wall) while you were putting in a very solid & accurate drive. Good fun that one was and thanks for forcing me to get quicker with the GT-R I still need to practice more with it though
