Forcednduckshn's Lounge - Clean Spec Racing

So what do you recommend guys, pick up a G27 and go with it? Or another DFGT?

P.S., I will likely have a lobby open tonight-

Go with the G27 man, you said yourself you need Sim experience and gt5 isn't the only sim out there for sure. As soon as I get my G27 and pc I'm picking up Iracing :) Love to join you on the rookie leagues with that :D

NEw lobby! 12 filled up way too fast and stupidly kicked people :P New room is 16 spots

Sorry for that little love tap at clubman stig, it was not intentional :) . As for the lag, it screwed up both of my races completely damaging my car. Oh well.

Oh, and that race between dolf and lapierre was one of the best battles I've seen in a long time.

Agreed the lag was a bit much, however I have some GREAT replays from when we split - Me, choate, fix, 3wide, r1600turbo, rod, gravy, and goszkioszolom had some pretty tight battles :D

Son of Stig - that sounds like some really nice battles... I'm super jealous that I didn't get to participate. It's restaurant week, and wifey wanted to be taken out to a fancy Italian dinner.

Tonight the wife is working until 7:30 and won't get home until 8 - she will be in a bad after her ~13hr shift, and I will be swiftly booted off the PS3...

Bottom line - I'm going to try to open up a lobby around 5:30. I know it's early, so it might just be me hot lapping by myself. However, it would be nice to get a few guys in before the action starts later in the night. I'll shut down at around 8, and I assume by then Forced/Stig will be up and running.

Bummer we won't get to run together but sounds good man. When we had a lobby of 16 and me and ghoast were the only 2 NON-orlandoers anyone who saw that list of people must have cried bc the lobby was full.

DEF go with the g27 if you have the cash Force! Superior equipment. Plus u get an h-pattern gear box and clutch which is REALLY fun to use

Agreed, but is it FASTER in GT5? Many say yes, on paper it says yes, but you say no and I really hold your feedback in high regard! So now I am questioning perhaps to buy another DFGT, and have the one I won in Rd 1 as a backup (whenever I get it.)

Honestly, I would love to do a side by side comparision, log all of my laps and do an analysis of average lap time. It's my understanding that the G25/G27 uses a dual motor setup, with dual ball bearings on the shaft, which would mean less shaft play both initially and over time, along with (at the very least) stronger force feedback. Though more isn't neccesarily better. What I have heard, but cannot verify, is that the G25/G27 can handle more force feedback data, and can vary the feedback more quickly and with higer resolution than a DFGT. This is really what I am concerned with. Ever since my wheel has been malfunctioning/broken, I realize that I can definitely still be fast, but I have lost an edge in feel and control and am absolutely a bit slower because of it. It almost feels like there are deadzones in the motors under different steering angles, or there are shorts in the circuit boards that give me wrong feedback at the wrong time. This is in direct comparison to my brother's wheel, a brand new DFGT, which performs beautifully. I really don't see a problem with the light pedals, I have gotten used to them, but the G series wheels would likely aid in brake modulation (a big deal) so it's another plus.

If I had the cash to burn, I would just buy both, honestly. I'll try to hunt for my data/real world feedback from people and make an assesment based on that.

Lol, you got a free dfgt coming in the mail......get the g27!

Thanks for the races tonight guys. I was way too tired to even attempt to keep up with you dudes...when I started to try and keep pace virtual death found me.

You all are some fast dudes. 👍

Cheers!

Monza 1st-4th in Stig's room tonight:

It was great racing with all of you. If we have races in Orlando like we had tonight, I'll be happy to finish 32nd.

Potatochip - you were sharp tonight. You will be a tough opponent in Orlando driving like that.

...that's me in the white car. Draft for the loss - I was hoping to cheat a draft off LaPierre but he hit the beach instead.

Great racing tonight - things got a little ugly at the end when everyone got tired, but lots of super competitive battles throughout most of the night.

I know this is out there, but any chance we could trust each other enough to buy a premium car and only give it an oil change to continue spec racing but with a bit more variety? Perhaps a fairlady Z?

Sorry i was such garbage tonight :yuck: Hope I at least provided some laughs with my honking :dopey:

I'm all for this. I think we can trust people to do what's right with the car, besides you should be able to monitor the cars performance through the pp system (I think).

I think that is a great idea stig. Everyone that is a usual suspect can pick their favorite car and everyone can buy it. The PP system should work perfect for that.

I'll start, if you dont mind. lol.

Alfa Romeo 8C, Sports Hard.

This sounds like a great idea to me 👍 The Z is just one of many cars we don't use (the NSX-R comes to mind also) that is quite enjoyable to drive.

I was also thinking of starting up a Ferrari spec series in the near future, particularly something along the lines of a "458 Italia Challenge" series (using specificaly modded 458's on S3's probably) or possible putting the 458 up against the Gallardo, and possibly the new Mclaren. I will probably get more serious about this once the Finals are over.

Outlaw - I like the idea. You will have to do some test/tuning at several tracks with those supercars to ensure parity...otherwise you'll have a race where everyone chooses the fastest car of the 3. I think you are consistent enough to get the cars very close 👍

As for our Disney World/Spec Racing lobby over the next 9 days, I would suggest getting stock 370z's on comfort soft tires. It's such an obvious car that will show up in Orlando, but we haven't touched it yet in online lobbies. The RX-7, M3, Tuscan, etc. just aren't the same...

Also - does anyone here have a freaking tuned 370z?! I will trade my best cars... You could also copy it and share because you just love supporting the GTP community :sly:. I would even trade a car just to go into settings and have you read off the mods, settings, alignment, etc...

I've actually got two GT Academy Tuned Z's, but I'm not sure if we can trade them since the latest update. If you have all golds on the license tests you should have received the GT Academy GT-R as a prize, that is a car we should use too. I'll try and gift the Tuned Z to you when I get on tonight Blindside.

Cheers!

 Amazing, SM 👍
Did you just get lucky with the "1000" tickets or something?

I think the trading doesn't work for cars over $1M, but you should be able to gift me anything - certainly that car. If you want, I can gift something back to you - or just give the car back in a week or so.

Thanks again!

On the GT-R - I have the Academy Version, but I'm pretty sure it's identical to the '09 spec v. It's also very similar to the "recommended" '07 GT-R, so we've had some practice with it. It was really just that pesky tuned 370z, that no one has...

Lol so I was trying to start off with the 370z because I knew the orlandogans needed to drive it. THEN I was gonna propose everyone picking their favorite premium
Anyway shall we say stock 370z + comfort soft tires + oil change for tonight/this weekend?

Any tips on where one can obtain the Tuned Z??? :sly:

Sounds good to me 👍 Even though the comfort softs suck on this car IMO (I'd prefer ~S2), it's probably best off if we get as much seat time as possible with these tires.

Hope to see you guys tonight
