Massa has looked much better than last year all weekend. I'm glad Hamilton's made it 3rd although I hoped he, or Rosberg would have made it onto the front row. The first corner's going to be interesting in a few hours, it'll be a charge when the lights go out.

What on earth happened to the McLaren's too? More so Button, as Perez's time was down to wrong tyre choice.

ZEROX
He's below 107%. Dunno if Caterham manage to appeal him for the race day.

I think he'll get through as he has been setting lap-times within 107% during Free Practice.

Is Charles Pic DNQ?

AFAIK, there hasn't been a definitive answer from the stewards. My guess is that they were waiting until qualifying is over. It's completely at their discretion, but I think it's safe to say that he will be racing today.

Not that others will be fresh, but Vettel will start the race with dead tires.

Edit: And he should get a 2 sec penalty for his hair cut.

I'm happy with RBR 1-2 but more so to the Mercedes camp, manage to get the 3rd postition! I really hope they're finally improve. As for Mclaren, I expect that to happen.

How so? He aborted his final lap whereas others complete theirs and had to do an inlap. Sure, an inlap isn't particularly stressful on a set of tires, but I'd like to know what you're basing that on.

How about giving Gutierrez a penalty for his uni brow or Hamilton for his chin strap?

Perez and Button weren't down to tire choice more so it is due to picking the right tire far too early in Perez's case. For Button the tire was picked a bit too early as well, and they became fried before everyone else. I don't think the Mclaren could have produced a top 3 lap, but perhaps p7 instead of p10. If the team waited another minute, they would have had a better result with Button.

Vettel aborted his last lap quite late (he crossed the line at the last second when he did his pole time but then continued to push).

I saw the tires when he park, and they looked ugly ;-)

The front runners will do like 10 laps or less then dive into the pits to stay on Mediums for the rest of the race. Probably just three stops.

On dry track, thoses softer tires can lose 6 secondes from one lap to the next, the first laps will be very interesting to watch...

I put $4 on Vettel to win and $7 for Alonso to podium just before the second round of qualifying started. They're both shaping up pretty well.

If my bets come through or not, I'm hoping this will be a total cracker of a race.

If it doesn't rain though. They're expecting the heaven falls during the race.
