It'll be nice to see 3 people on the podium who are actually happy to be there. Whenever it's a Bottas-Hamilton-Verstappen combo, at least 2 of them look miserable.

Gutted for Max but super happy with the podium - another win for Checo, a true return to form for Seb and another podium for Gasly. Superb race! Plus, RB go ahead in the constructors and Max doesn't lose out.

Mercedes has the huge disappointment of the day because not only did Hamilton fail to score a point, Bottas was a non-factor and allowed Verstappen and Red Bull to effectively get a mulligan.

I hope there was a camera on Max at the restart.

Mercedes botched it 2 races in row....those could be championship defining moments! Red bull is now we'll ahead of them!

A lot like posts in these F1 race threads, thinking about it.

A thought before all the excitement, surely Latifi had to take his penalty under green flag conditions? Coming into the pits after the formation lap doesn't count?

What a race, but it needs to be said. Tire wars need to possibly come back. It's pretty evident Pirelli can't make a good tire, nor make good decisions regarding compounds for a race weekend. Two failures, same tire, on the same straight, and not at their max performing window. One of their failures are going to be very costly to someone's health at this rate.

Today's pretty much a miracle for Red Bull.

As for Checo, this look somewhat similar to the post-race stop at last year's Super GT season.

What was Pirelli's reasoning for increasing the psi to 20? Practice yesterday was 19psi. Sure we had red flags but that was driver error for pushing too hard not a tire issue.

Referring to the practice sessions prior to the race. There were four red flags and all were due to driver error for pushing too far not tires.

So I was wondering if those driver errors had anything to do with Pirelli's decision to bump up the psi by one point from 19 to 20psi for race day.

Ah, OK... I see what you mean now.

They boosted it before FP3 and qualifying, not after.

Did Hamilton cook the brakes, or did he just miss his marker fighting with Checo for the inside line?

He left a switch on (code named magic) which was assisting with brake(?) temperatures during the 2nd formation lap under the SC, which then caused him to sail straight on down the highway.

Edit: Tree'd
