Formula 1 Gran Premio de España Santander 2012

Schumacher parked his car so Raikkonen couldn't complete his pole attempt lap, but it falls under the same rule of needing to get the car back to the pits under it's own power.

I think you meant Alonso. Not Raikonen.
And also if you mean by the 2006 Monaco incident, Schumi delibrately park his car. So, he's disqualified for impeding other driver, not getting back to the pits using it's own power.

The Porsche Supercup race was cancelled just now. What happened actually? Something happened on the track?

Off topic a little. Sorry.

Found a Dutch website and did a quick Google Translate (Not the best I know). All I can make out is that the tyre or wheel specs were too dangerous to race in (Kinda reminds me of Indy 2006)

I see.. Didn't Porsche changed the spec of their rims and tyres earlier this year? It's a shame though as it came really on the very last minute.

Any info about the weather there? :sly:

An hour ago, it was dry. I saw some black clouds at the back of the circuit but I guess it is going to be a dry race surely...

Now that you mention it, the article did mention rims when translated. Thought it was just one of Google's dodgy translations

I am disgusted with the FIA decision to put Lewis to the back of the grid - even if he had enough fuel he would still have made pole with him being half a second ahead of everyone else. A 5 place penalty would have been fair... there is no consistency in their penalties and Lewis always seems to be coming worse off for them.

With Hamilton's pace, and if he can get his tyres to work and last, he may still get a podium here.

Perhaps even John Watson's record of winning form furthest back on the grid (22nd) could be broken.

They broke a technical regulation, which results in exclusion. It is clear cut. The time that he would have done had they not broken the rules is irrelevant.

On any other track I#d agree daan... hard to overtake on this one though. At the very least I can hope that Vettel finishes outside of the top 10 :D

Can't believe he is claiming it was a 'fuelling error', they were clearly using an amount too close to the minimum and totally knew about it. They were probably hoping the FIA would let them off if they had enough to provide a sample.

What i fail to understand is, Mclaren as a team fueled the the car NOT hamilton himself so surely Mclaren should have points docked from there construtor championship not the individual driver penalised who had no controll over the issue.

Hmm, Eddie Jordan says Hamilton should have really only been disqualified from Q3, not the entire qualifying process.
Saying it was completely the wrong move from the regulators :grumpy:

Here's hoping a good strategy can help him get some points...

:odd:

I don't think Hamilton's ignorance is all that convincing. These guys are so finely tuned to the cars I'm sure they can tell when the fuel load is extremely light.

I just hope Lewis doesn't have to make any unnecessary stops and can make it to the end. I'm looking forward to see how high he can finish.

What I dont agree with is if the rules are there to be inforced way does Hamilton have to start behind Narain? Narain shouldnt even be allowed to race in the first place because he didnt meet the cut... but if he his allowed then he should start last

So, for the Australians in the eastern states: has the coverage started for you? We're supposed to get the broadcast live on OneHD (as opposed to tape delayed on Ten, like the last round) in Adelaide but right now they're still showing Cops...

Do you really think, As tuned as they are, they can tell if the a litre of fuel short as that was all he would have needed to coast back and supply the relevant quantity.
I honestly feel that if the team effort makes many more cockups with hamilton in the future he will leave at end of season. Mclaren are destroying any chances he has of winning with there piss poor performance. Mclaren told him to stop, he got the penalty for stoping and it has been made clear he could have run slowly to the pits and suffered less.

At the end of the day the rules are not that fair, penalties as I stated really should have been aimed ot the team not the individual.

So it's only ever him making these decisions?

And I'm sure he didn't design them crappy wheel nuts, or what ever the problem was.

He makes the ultimate decision and is accountable for the good and the bad. I find him extremely creepy. He could get a role in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Wait hold up I just switch on to sky and watch Lewis get pole yesterday someone say why he is at the back please... LOL My grandparents are from Venezuela so im happy Maldanado is in Pole but Lewis is my fave driver

Read the previous 5 pages of this thread.

While I feel that the penalty is unfairly harsh, the rules are clear. No one should know it better than McLaren, as they're the ones whose antics inspired the rule, in the first place.

I feel really bad for Lewis, but rules are rules. And it's not like the FIA invented this rule on the spot to penalize him. They invented it two years ago to penalize him. :D :D :D

It'll be a fantastic race, whatever happens. Who cares which championship front-runner has the best race? We have Pastor fricking Maldonado on pole and Kimi sitting right behind him. On the dirty side we have Alonso and Grosjean. Whichever of those four guys wins... considering any of them can win... I will be insanely happy.

20% chance of rain. Most likely will be a 100% dry race.

Aaa geez. Glad i didn't put my hopes high.

Well, this should put the final nail on "Hammy-harsh-unfair-execlude-blaublublegrh" coffins. :P
On to the race now.

About the Hamilton incident, why do cars have to return to parc ferme under their own power after qualifying, but not after the race??

It seems that Lewis just can't catch a break in F1 :grumpy:
