He's losing multiple seconds per lap. Seems a serious issue (or completely destroyed tires). Pitting now.

Edit: And there goes Sainz as well. Looks like Ferrari just shreds tires

That was quite explosive for "just hitting the limiter"

At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if this will end as a 3 stop race.

So the FIA are back to helping Ferrari?

No penalty for Sainz.
I don't know if he actually broke a rule.
Hamilton's "in in in in in" incident a few years ago broke a specific instruction about going around a bollard I think

He crossed the solid line on pit entry.
That is pretty much a clear cut thing.

Even the commenters said it was clear cut

This is the rule:
d) Except in cases of force majeure (accepted as such by the Stewards), any tyre of a car entering the pitlane must not cross, in any direction, any line painted on the track at the pit entry for the purpose of separating cars entering the pitlane from those on the track.
Since he didn't actually enter the pitlane, you could argue that the rule doesn't apply.

Another rule just before this specifically mentions intending to enter the pitlane, and this one doesn't. So I think it's reasonable to say this only applies if you actually enter the pits.

Congrats to Max on his 4th WDC. Wait, what? No fireworks? I might not like the guy, but he just won the WDC. Give the dude some goddamn fireworks.

Monster drives from Russell and Hamilton.

Weird business with Ferrari and Sainz.

McLaren were nowhere. Frustrating. Shame about Lando's WDC chances this season. No Worries. WCC is getting too close between them and Ferrari, but at least it's exciting.

Well George enters the multiple winners club for the season which is what I had been hoping for after the DSQ earlier on in the year. Mercedes leave 2024 with at least 4 wins.

Congrats to Max on number four. He's definitely earned it though I'd like to see him win a title with no controversy in a year, I think he's only at 50% hit rate with that. Just let Checo go, it's not helping him or anyone else. Lando can win a championship but he and McLaren need to step it up, and with Oscar on the charge, hmm.

2 races to go and I might just clock off already, I got what I wanted from WRC and MotoGP this year anyway.

With the way people drove this year no one deserves fireworks. The title fight may have been exciting but it has some of the worst driving I have ever seen.
