Looks like everyone may make it to race time? Aston says both cars will be ready, I believe Sainz is starting from pit row, Albon initially reported an hour ago he was out, but Williams has since said they're still going through it 30 minutes ago.
Oh that would be awesome! F1 mechanics man…. Crazy.

Getting real sick of seeing drivers destroy their cars, cause a red flag and yet still advance into the next session even though they can't participate.

Yeah well, that's why you gotta be ahead of them.

It's always a matter of timing in a wet quali session either way.

A guy like Stroll should have had his lap time deleted, it makes no logical sense to able to screw the entire field like that imo.

I get your point, but drivers should be treated as equals, and not say "Well you're one of the suckiest drivers on the grid, therefore the driver behind you gets to proceed into Q3." Same goes the other way round, drivers shouldn't be given special treatment.

It would be demoralizing to directly link the driver reputation to the consequence.

A busted car making it through to the next round of qualifying is nonsense. They have this rule in Indycar and it works good.
I assume your favourite driver got screwed? Sorry about that.
It all levels out over the course of a season.
Disqualifying drivers for crashing/having mechanical failures/ driving over a manhole cover or whatever else causes a red flag is stupid and completely unprecedented in F1.
This can stay in Indy imo.

Sainz is not going to have a decent tire temperature now, also has an extra fuel over everyone else.

What is even going on!

On the formation lap? He's making the argument for DSQing drivers causing at-fault red flags in qualy even stronger.

I came here to say "don't 🤬 this up, Lando" but it sounds like he already has
