Because of all of the potential penalties, it is imperative that Norris is ahead of the 3 drivers also under investigation for start infringement.

No need to really push too effin hard ( FIA come at me! ) officials gonna keep pressing the safety button.

when max gets a 15 sec lead, gonna need a red flag and an oopsie on restart
I don’t think that’s fair. Almost all FIA decisions in the last race and this weekend up until the race were to Max’s disadvantage.

Well GGs on the championship, Max. Mclaren has not remembered how to compete for a championship and Lando just ISN'T championship material right now.

On to 2025 then...

But at least now folks will know why Alpine is on the TrakRacer sim piloting apparatus...

More so if Ocon can make a 7 second late lunge..... 🤣

And through goes Hamilton!

So, unless we see multiple DSQs (would Mercedes tire pressure changing merit one?), Bottas will likely miss out on points.

1. Verstappen (FL)
2. Ocon
3. Gasly
4. Russell*
5. Leclerc
6. Norris*
7. Tsunoda*
8. Piastri - after penalty.
9. Lawson*
10. Hamilton*
11. Perez
12. Bearman

All those with asterisks pending penalties.

Everything's coming up Verstappen.

I need to scrub this race from my brain. Frustrating day to be rooting for McLaren.

Congrats to Ocon and Gasly on their double podium. Nice double points finish for Tsunoda and Lawson. Huge day for all four of them.

Can't wait to check back in a few hours to see how all the infringements sort out all the dumb.

Still a possible penalty to come too, could be over tonight.

Who had an Alpine double podium on their bingo card for this race/season/ruleset/decade?
It won't be over. Even if Lando scores 0 points, he still has a theoretical chance. But then he'd need to gain 13 points on Max next race (and win everything afterwards without Max scoring a single point)

It's over. Verstappen would have to pull a 2007 Hamilton.
Realistically, yes it's over already. Just talking about theoretical chances here. Max may well be champion next race.

Edit: I just thought about the possibility of a championship winning celebration in Vegas. It will be way too over the top.

It was an entertaining race but I'm still pretty salty about that SC. The 4 or 5 cars that made the right call and went to wets got robbed.
Meh, if it's wet enough to need to pit for the full wet, then there's a very high percentage that it's wet enough for the safety car, as the 2 seemingly go hand in hand in recent years.
