For context, at Formula 1 events, marshals are specifically briefed for Qualifying to not put a Yellow Flag out unless absolutely necessary. Race Control don't want yellows out for cars spinning or running wide because they then have to - shock horror - penalise drivers for ignoring Yellow Flags. So in qualifying, unless the car is in the wall or spun in the middle of the track, Race Control do not want a yellow flag out. This was blindingly obvious because the yellow didn't come out until after the last car has passed Hulk on a quali lap, and the Red Flag waited for a few laps to be complete.Race control fail again, Hullenberg off and it took almost a full lap for them to throw a yellow and now it's red flagged.
What if someone went off starting their flier? Bizarre not to call that sooner.
I get that, stationary car on the outside of a very high speed complex seems pretty worthy of a yellow. Considering it took them nearly a full 90 seconds to do it.For context, at Formula 1 events, marshals are specifically briefed for Qualifying to not put a Yellow Flag out unless absolutely necessary. ****ing penalise drivers for ignoring Yellow Flags and NONE of these stupid rules have to exist.
Agreed totally. That should be a yellow at all times and in any other series the yellow would be out. But Formula 1 decides to make up stupid rules all the time and this was one of them.I get that, stationary car on the outside of a very high speed complex seems pretty worthy of a yellow. He will also be the first driver to race with the number 38 since Christian Danner in the 1989 Canadian GP with Rial (not counting DNQs or third drivers). As far as I can tell, Bearman will be the first driver to debut for the works Ferrari team in a world championship F1 race since Arturo Merzario in the 1972 British GP, anyone know of a more recent debutant in a Ferrari?
Verstappen ran #38 at Toro Rosso (but only in FPs, had #33 since his race debut)He will also be the first driver to race with the number 38 since Christian Danner in the 1989 Canadian GP with Rial (not counting DNQs or third drivers).
Yes, but Har specifically said race with number 38.Verstappen ran #38 at Toro Rosso
True. But not as old as Alonso must be feeling .Bearman the first driver to be born after Schumacher's 7th title?
We're old.
That I did, I guess by excluding third drivers, I should have said excluding drivers who only drove in practice sessions using that number.Yes, but Har specifically said race with number 38.
You're fine, he didn't read.I should have said excluding drivers who only drove in practice sessions using that number.
