You can't have good physics and tire marks? I thought the PS3 was a beast machine?

Did I say anything about COULD or COULD NOT? No I didn't, at least now I know you can't read properly. I simply said that it has no affect on how the car drives... Then I said that the most important thing is the physics... Where in my post did I even mention the PS3 or what it was capable of? Please inform me....

I'm sorry, you are nothing but a fanboy.
What, and you're not? ;)

Just like you, I gave my opinions. But I guess you can only be a fanboy of Forza if... well, according to you, Jake and Cobra, you can praise Forza all day long and in every way, and you're perfectly reasonable. Oh well, I'm used to double standards from MS fanz.

 You guys crack me up, I'd pay money to see about 10 of you put in the same room. No sharp or blunt instruments, and of course no guns, I wouldn't want the show to end too soon.:)

I thought the 360 was a beast too, but apparently an 8 cars at a time beast, it seems....

Well guys, we can put 16 cars on the track... but we can't manage to get any tire marks on the roads as that seems to be the extent of our PS3 power.

Sorry RedSuinit, I was playing the Forza all evening and I didn't have time to respond to you.

The 360 doesn't even have to be the better machine, cause all the good exclusive games are on it and the controller is actually comfortable.

If I own a copy of GT5P how can I be a troll? Wouldn't you need to be a complete fanboy and not ever play the competitors game?

It's not a matter of whether it can or can't. It's that PD is too busy focusing on what's important to worry about details that have nothing to do with driving...

That's not true as they are very much focused on graphics and that has nothing to do with the actual driving physics.

👎 I happen to have at least "some" experience due to my autocrossing and I can tell you that your statement is one of pure fanboyism... You are naive... BOTH games do a pretty good job of simulating car handling characteristics... (Forza 3 and GT5:P) I have played BOTH... With a wheel, not a controller...

Seriously, if you hate the PS3 and GT so much, then leave...

EDIT: I feel as if before Jake responds again, I will confess that GT5:P's physics can be spotty at times, where it does something out of character. However, the big picture with the handling characteristics are pretty good.

There are plenty of PC sims that give you very accurate physics but look like absolute ****. It's nice to have a game with pretty decent physics(although with a few flaws) that's also appealing to the eye, adds to the realism and also very much encourages casual gamers to buy it for the eyecandy. And hey, they've said theres new physics.. so let's judge that when GT5 is out rather than hanging all basis on a 2 year old Prologue.

Not a bad idea. Here's to hoping they revisit and improve upon the physics.

Autocross. :ill:

  • Damage in Forza is only about 30% real, not that much to crow about.
That's still 30% better than GT5P was. We don't know about GT5 yet, I suspect they'll end up similar. Will reserve judgement until we see more mechanical damage.
  • Online will probably be fine. I hope I can disable cross-game chat and messaging because I dislike it immensely, and hate Live for it.
That's a new one. Why?
  • Rollovers? Meh... tire marks? Eh... drag racing, meh. Drifting is in already, again, meh. Engine and drive train swaps, meh. Different tire makes, meh.
Fair enough, everyone has their own idea of what is important.
  • I'm fine with Prologue's A.I. FW3's A.I. is just as stupid, if not more so.
This I cannot agree with. I think you'll struggle to find anyone who agrees with this who has actually played both games. Forza AI uses steering and braking to avoid you. It gives you racing room when going through corners side by side. It will go off line to attempt an overtake, and actually make mistakes occasionally by itself. The GT AI consists of a grid of slot cars driving faultlessly around a perfect racing line. There is literally ZERO intelligent or divergent behavior.

Finally, SIM should probably have posted this in the Forza forum. It was always going to stir people up putting it here.

Wow, just wow... Have you ever even set foot at an autocross event? Hardened road racers will tell you just how hard auto-crossing really is... You need to get your head out of the ground...

Yeah, OK... I have more if you need it...

Don't you need to compare that to GT4 A.I that only drives in a straight line that doesn't move? I mean it's FM2... It's old. You'll need to find some evidence of FM3's bad AI which is worlds better than GT's AI currently.

Ok here you go... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQ_D9-qvwyI Go to 1:30 and notice all 4 cars in a straight line, the only reason they weren't before is because they start side by side in the grid. Yet once they spread they form this nice neat single file line...

EDIT: that took me 10 seconds to find BTW, I am sure there are even better example out there... I will find them if you want me too...

Yeah, cars will do that it Motorsports other than that crap Autocross you speak off. It's called a racing like and it's got the added benefit of drafting.

The difference is that Forza's AI will move from that line from time to time where as GT's will not even move at all, EVEN if you bump into them lol.

You can't make your point just by finding some random recording of the game doing exactly what it's suppose to do. It's even more funny when you look at the back cars and they are outside their racing line. Fail.

I would love to see YOU back this up, that GT5:P vehicles NEVER leave their line, no matter what... If that is true, how come a vehicle will go off course, or overtake another vehicle??? You are a fanboy at it's finest... If you ever see a line of cars in GT "LOOK AT THE TERRIBLE AI!" If you see a line of cars in Forza "LOOK AT THE BRILLIANT AI USING DRAFT!" 👎 FAIL.

Don't worry about that... Just got a e-mail from FedEx. It seems my PS3 is on it's way.

I'll be confirming everything for myself soon enough.

I don't care how hard Autocross is, it's all retarded to me.

👎 Just now saw this post... Go do some research, and at least try it once before you mouth off like this...

"Autocross is a form of motorsports that emphasizes safe, low-cost competition and active participation. An autocross is a timed competition where drivers navigate one at a time through a temporary course marked by traffic cones, rather than racing on a track with multiple other cars, as in road racing or oval racing. Autocross tends to place more emphasis on car handling and driver skill than on sheer horsepower, and events typically have many classes which allow almost any vehicle, from economy sedans to purpose-built vehicles, to compete. Speeds are slower in absolute terms when compared to other forms of motorsports, usually not exceeding highway speeds, but the activity level (measured in driver inputs per second) can be higher than even Formula One due to the large number of elements packed into each course. In addition to being a national-level motorsport in its own right, autocrossing is a great way to get started in road racing."
