Forza 4 Autovista mode could be standard / premium?

Mazda Miata and legendary should never EVER be put in the same sentence EVER!!

You know, the Miata basically revived the market for small roadsters on its own and is the best selling roadster to date. If you want to, go to the 'Cars in General' subforum and ask the guys there, whether a Miata can be considered an automotive legend or not ;)

It was the only roadster. Its easy to be the best when there is no other competition.

And why was that? Because nobody bought them in the first place
And today, there is quite a lot of competition, and non of them is matching the Miata - because it's rather affordable and yet, a nice, sporty convertible.

There's a reason why you see them by the dozen at autocross events ;)

I wish GM would have kept the Sky/Solstice in the Chevrolet/Buick division some how. Or at least keep one.

Then again, I also wish we still had a Fiero :(

The Miata is one of the best cars to do some amateur racing on. Many people get the car because of it's good balanced handling and overall performance. I don't mind Miatas in the game even if shown off in this Autovista mode. I just don't want to have 20+ versions of the same car. I'm not a big fan of it but I'll take only 1, modify and tune it and race it.

Since we are discussing cars like Pontiac.. I liked their GTO and it's a shame it didn't sell well. I especially liked the G8 but it was too late.

I wish they would put this in autovista but I'd be lucky just to get it in the game...

I just want to throw alot junk in it and tear up the track as a sleeper.

Pictures I took at Road America last year, speaking of Miata's:

Loved that Cavalier back in the day. I was actual a fan of that body style Pontiac 2000 as well.

Actually there was a few really good roadsters back in the the 60's and 70's. I guess you forgot the almighty Shelby Cobra. That my friend is LEGENDARY!! Seeing Miatas at events doesnt make them legendary. Im not bashing on the car but lets keep them out of the legendary category.

Sorry to continue this OT tangent, but I'm a big fan of the Miata and prefer it to the Solstice and Sky roadsters (though they are admittedly faster, even the NAs). That said, I'd love to get my hands on a Solstice Coupe GXP. I've always had a thing for targas.

And yeah, the Fiero got a bad rap.

Uh, yeah. and then, the market was gone. Do you still see them on the roads today, selling well? No, you don't. That's because The average customer is neither able to afford a car like a Shelby Cobra, nur is the average customer even able to drive one without getting killed.

I agree with you that the Cobra is a legend, it just is because of totally different reasons. The Miata is probably the grass roots racecar (see Miata Spec Series), and it has been selling fell for almost two decades for a reason.

All Im saying is the Miata is NOT a "legend". Does it have a special little place in the car world? Yes. With the legends it does not belong. I just think you are throwing around the word legend or legendary a little too freely.

I'm just of the opinion that the Miata is one of the top ten best cars ever created and is certainly more deserving of an Autovista spot then, say, the Ferrari California.
As far as legendary status goes, I'd think the Miata is right up there with cars such as the F40.

Anyways, this question is starting to catch my interest, I think I'll start a thread about it
Anyways, to quote Jeremy Clarkson:
"The fact is that if you want a sports car, the MX-5 is perfect. Nothing on the road will give you better value. Nothing will give you so much fun. The only reason I’m giving it five stars is because I can’t give it 14."

What about this, is this a legend? :)

No, that's an Acura. :sly:

Sigh... I miss the days when Acuras had names. I've convinced myself the Integra died because Honda renamed it.

I think the Miata deserves Autovista status because it revived the roadster market, it's reliable, it's cheap enough that anyone can afford a great handling car, and it's sold a ton. A lot of gearheads consider it one of the great sports car bargains and it keeps showing up on "best of" lists. Just because it's slow doesn't mean it's insignificant. Also, like it or not, everyone has strong opinions about the Miata, and I'm sure Top Gear's presenters do too.

Autovista why though. There is nothing special to look at.

Top 10 cars ever!?!?!?!?! Are you madly insaine???

I think it depends on what gen. we're talking about for AutoVista, which model made the most history.

As for the Miata itself, I do think it's legendary, but not in the same way a F40 is legendary. The F40 is obviously legendary for what it is, how it was built, what it stands for as a supercar. The Miata not so much, but that's ok b/c Mazda never intended the Miata to be the kind of car the F40 is. To see why the Miata is considered so legendary, you have to understand what it is, how it drives for being what it is, & then why that translates it as the go-to-track car. Add this to the fact that the formula has been relatively unmatched & unchanged since its inception, you have a recipe for greatness.

Autovista why though. There is nothing special to look at.
Your quote supports a bit of what I'm talking about. For those who may see it as a small, slow, plain ol' roadster in entry level of the car market, they won't see it the way other enthusiasts see it. I dare say you really have to drive one on the track to finally see why it's considered such a great car.

But Autovista is all about technology and the wow factor when you look at it and seeing all the special features in a car. The Miata gives you nothing to look at.

Meh, top ten might be pushing it top twenty for sure though.
Anyways, if you want to continue the debate, let's do it at the apropirate place.

Well, the NA Miata, I think. Should be the best.

Exactly. The Miata isn't a legend for the same reasons as an F40, but that doesn't make it any less of a legendary car.

I think that's what you think AutoVista is all about. Dan already said many cars won't have all those fancy facts & statistics we saw with the 458 Italia.

The added-in voiceover review of the car is where the Miata's possible inclusion into AutoVista would be the strong point. There are many good things to say about the Miata & I'd reckon if the Miata is included and Jeremy is the one giving the facts, you'll see what we're talking about.

So, what's the special technology seen in the Ferrari California? O_o

I cant believe people are still trying to say this little car is legendary when I can think of at least 6-7 better roadsters. This car isn't in the top 5 roadsters but some of you seem to think its in the top 10-20 cars. You guys are entitled to your opinion. Its just way off of what my opinion is.
