According to BADNED, the 787B will be added to FM4 as DLC, and his predictions usually come true.

I just wish I knew exactly how he is getting his information. Apparently he has insider knowledge with turn-10. But I can just as easily say I have insider knowledge with turn-10 too, and guess what? I have it on very good authority that we are getting a season 2 DLC pass, that will include 6 new tracks. See how that works? :/

To be fair, Badned has been correct about some of the things he has said.

But this being the internet, 99% of things said on it are total crap.

He's called a lot of cars correctly, the exact model and model year. Too much to just be pulling it out of thin air, really.

Well Forza could do a 787B...

and tell me, how is it supposed to work? everything is about money and efficiency, I was simply stating the effort/time need to build X car.

According to badned, the 787b is coming via DLC. When, who knows... and that's if badned is correct in his statement.

I see a lot of you aren't particularly familiar with Badned. Think of him as ForzaCentral's Amar; he only reports what he knows (whether it be outright or through his cryptic signatures), and whether or not said makes it into the game as he reports isn't really left up to him.

He teased the Fiat Coupe weeks before it was revealed and look how that turned out, he teased the Fiero weeks before it was released, and again, look how that turned out.

My response has always been, with PD being a bigger company, a more successful company, and one with more funds at their disposal, why couldn't PD outsource or grow their staff?
Simple management issues. On one hand, they already have a hard time coping with a 140-ish team, so hiring more would be essentially useless (and finding "talented" people isn't as easy as some might think). On the other hand, they do not seem "ready" to outsource, either because they believe they couldn't manage it, or because they don't think outsourcing would produce results acceptable enough for their expected level of quality.

I'm not finding excuses. Just explaining (or rather stating the obvious, but whatever).

And yes, for what it's worth, I don't think we would have had so many modeling inaccuracies in Forza if the work had been done 100% in-house. But that is another matter.

I'm not sure that helps my image of Badned. :P I think Amar posts some good stuff when he is sharing information he has learned, but otherwise whenever I see him talking about GT5 in general, he is just being a troll.

I guess I need to just go make an account over at Forzacentral and start posting there too.

Fanboy is a no-no word here, for future reference.

And, if it'll help more I can have someone (who may already be a member here) who mods over at FC explain him a little better?

lol, no, that is okay. I'll just make an account on FC and become a member there too. Learn about this mythical and mysterious Badned for myself! :P

Imagine if Amar and Badned were the same people.

Since this is the vs thread... here's a lil something of reality vs FM4 vs GT5 standard (no premium model available).

Very old shot of my real car:

Audi B6 A4 S-line, modified = visually it's from Stasis coilovers, & Audi OEM BBS CH/CO wheels

Forza4.jpg

Audi B6 S4 - FM4 = mods include race suspension & BBS wheels

Audi B6 S4 - FM3 = Only 'side' shot I have right now, mods include Oettinger kit, suspension and BBS wheels

Had there been a premium model, I'd post it up but this car is only in standard form. Forza 2's model looks better than GT5's version, so clearly Forza 3 and Forza 4 would look better by default. Had there been a premium, there's no doubt that GT5's version would be the best modeled version and best looking one in comparison.

Sound wise, I know what the S4's 4.2L V8 sounds like in stock and modified form, but my car is a modified 1.8T (1.8L 4cyl turbo). In GT5, sounds nothing like it. In FM4, sounds a lot closer to real life but not dead nuts to be honest. Sadly the S4 weighs more than my A4, is heavier on the nose and I've never driven one hard in real life. I can probably get a closer build in GT5 to my real car due to the power restrictions and weight bias adjustments.

That FM4 shot was probably under the worst lighting possible. The car doesn't even look like the same color or maybe it isn't the same color. :odd:

Sadly I only noticed it afterwards that the only direct side shot I had was the one I posted. I have a nice one of it on the corkscrew with the sun beading nicely. Maybe next time I boot it up I'll take the better side shot, and might even slap the Oettinger kit on it.

Why wouldn't it....the standard car is from a console from last generation

which are also 80%, or in other words 800+ cars in GT5... This is the norm you get in GT5, not the exception. The premiums are the exception. Look at all promo videos, crap I just saw a GT5 commercial on TV the other day! And all you see are premium cars on 'premium' tracks. In Forza, all cars and tracks are modeled to the same level.

Consistency, GT5 has none.

My take on the GT5 vs FM4 debate:

FM4 > GT5 on the following:

- Excellent choice of cars overall and all modelled to a high quality with interior views
- More DLC content, better content & at monthly intervals, as opposed to every two months
- Very few duplicates of the same car, unlike multiple R32s, R33s etc etc in GT5
- Autovista
- Better AI IMO and a much more extensive Career Mode.
- Livery editor
- A far more balanced car list (EU vs US vs JP) than GT5
- Engine sounds overall are much better than in GT5

GT5 > FM4 on the following:

- Night racing, weather, time change; looks breathtaking
- Premiums are modelled to an even higher quality than Forza's models
- More diverse racing (Rally, NASCAR etc)
- A written history of each car in the game (sadly lacking in Forza)
- B-Spec RPG element for those into that kind of thing (I'm not tbh)
- Course Maker

Point 3 is more a negative than positive.
Point 4 is much of the same thing as a lot of the detailed descriptions are hugely inaccurate

How is having rally and Nascar a negative? It simply gives you more options.

Tell me, how many of those options are implemented in the game in any way other than unsatisfactory?

How many NASCAR events are there? How many Rally events are there?

For that matter, where's a WRC-esque Championship race in A-Spec? What about NASCAR? One championship race and one (two?) Special Events?

Please.

They were done badly? I mean the rally just plain sucks. I thought WRC II Extreme was the worst use of the WRC license but GT5 rivals it big time. [posted before I saw T12 post]

And on a side note regarding standard car comparisons not being fair, why are they not fair exactly? Why is it frowned upon to compare the 2 games versions of the Bugatti Veyrons? In my eyes it is perfectly fair, the standard cars make up 80% of the games selection, to not compare them is silly and it drives me mental when I see people who sleep with GT5 saying its not fair.

Life isn't fair, you know?

I've read a few reasons as to why it's supposedly unfair, but I can't say that I remember any of them.

Something like "yeah, if we factor the standard cars in, then FM4 wins this debate automatically and that's not fair" or something along those lines. Never understood it, anyways.

I am glad you had a read of it, it seems most people have come in this thread to troll and nothing else

Tell me about it.:yuck:

As a GT Fan, I know a difference with the section of Cars in both GT5 and Forza 4.

Some of GT5's 1,000 Cars such as the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG are very interesting, but 60% of GT5's cars are mainly Japanese, with 40% of them are American and European. There are like 180 Nissan's, and most of them are GT-R's. I know Gran Turismo and Nissan have a good connection to each other, but we can't have a game that has so many skylines that mainly looked the same. We just want one model of one skyline for each generation.

In Forza 4, Turn 10 has choosed some of the best Cars in the world, and I find Forza 4 to have a great section of muscle cars (Which is the type of Cars that I like aswell as Sports and Supercars).

I think that GT5 should have 300 or 400 Cars, and should have the same amount of Japanese, American and European Cars. Also, PD should have put more work on addeding more Cars, Tracks and Events, so maybe GT5 would be bigger then GT3, but smaller then GT4.

I never said it couldn't be allot better but it's still better than not having it at all.

I disagree. Between the way the content has been handled (inclusive of the wasted TG license), and not having done it at all, there really isn't that much of a difference - it's practically the same ethos presented in GT PSP: do with it what you will - open-ended.

This isn't an MMO nor an RPG, a racing game without a particular path to traverse is simply foolish. If I wanted to make of the game what I wanted then I'd be playing WoW or Oblivion and even those has defined paths.

Forza is better.
Wheeew, I feel so much better now that I got that off my chest.

My main GT5 account is saved in between FORMULA GT races. I've gone back to it a dozen of times in the past few months to finish it but after a lap or two, I just shut it off. Not sure what it is but for a casual play, GT5 just doesn't do it for me anymore. I've spent $15 or whatever in the last few weeks on the DLC and I've put maybe 5 minutes into the GT86 before turning the game off. Maybe it's cause my bank is maxed out or maybe it's cause I have 2,000 cars, not sure but the small updates that bring events/cars/tracks, just aren't enough.
The rivals/auction house/storefront and even career, GASP, just feel more fun/rewarding in FM4.
Having said that, both games get boring pretty quickly if I'm just not in the car game mood.
