Forza 6 News Incoming?

Gran Turismo was the reason I got a PS2, and Forza was the reason I got an Xbox 360. I already played racing games on PC with a wheel and could have stuck with that if there was anything like GT/Forza on Windows.

I don't regret the chance to play other PS2/360-exclusive racing games, though.

If true, it would be the best gaming news to me for years. I will no longer need to get an Xbox one and Thrustmaster TX (which unfortunately even though a good wheel it has horrible reliability). I would just get a Thrustmaster 500rs for my PC and be good to go!!

Well Phil Spencer did say they was doing "cross buy" between the Xbox and windows 10 at that event they just held, so who knows what is going to happen with the future of gaming via Microsoft. It would be awesome if FM6 did release on PC though, means I could potentially use my G27 wheel..... perhaps. That also assumes Logitech will make new drivers for windows 10.

Windows 10 still supports everything made for windows just like previous versions. No need for new drivers.

Isn't Horizon or something like an Crossover on pc instead of forza 6 possible, too? FordxMotorsport or Horizon2xfast and furious on pc, for example. Basically a forza prologue or free advertisment crossover on pc to create more brand awareness and sell more consoles and copies of forza on xbox one.
I doubt it would happen, but the article does bring up some pretty valid points.
Windows 10 and DX12 will be on Xbox One and Chris Tector was in the advisory committee of the console. Save to say that he was one of the experts and Microsoft needed one on stage for this presentation.

Do you think Microsoft wants you to no longer need to get an Xbox One?

Tell that to the awesome Nvidia tv tuner card I used to own..... that stopped working with the upgrade from XP to Vista. Amongst other things I have owned over the years

It is only Cross-Buy if the company that makes the game wants to IIRC , otherwise they can make you pay twice for it.

Microsoft have a higher chance of using cross-buy over say EA or Activision, and Microsoft happen to own T10. So if they are doing a pc version of Forza (hopefulness on my part), it would be highly likely Microsoft would follow through with a cross buy on that game.

Only time will tell if they do that though, which I have doubts, as Forza is a console seller for Microsoft. As a company, they really need to sell more Xbox one consoles.

and do you REALLY think EA would do that? I only see MS use this feature , and frankly if their games are available on PC why would anyone buy an XBOX 1?

I never said EA would, I said Microsoft have a higher chance of using it as it is their system and their operating system for a PC. Personally I am expecting it to be mostly indy titles, possibly Minecraft since MS own them now, and most likely the new fable game. Which we already know has cross platform multiplayer from the windows 10 conference a couple of months back.

yeah , i know you didn't say it but i was giving an example . I really can't see how this will help the XBOX.

It has the potential to help the Xbox division in the sense of increased sales for microsoft owned games, as they make more of a cut on game sales over console hardware. But they do still make some money from the sale of the consoles as well. Mainly because other developers and publishers like EA have a platform fee to pay.

Truth of the matter is this though, there will still only be people who play on console over a PC. A proportion of console gamers don't want the hassle of pc gaming, and the higher price to initially get your foot in the door is a put off for a lot of others. Lets face it, a decent gaming PC isn't cheap. And this is coming from a person who has always had a PC along side consoles, and I don't buy pre-built systems. I buy the parts individually and put them together myself, have done since I was 16. The last pre-built I had, was from a company called "Tiny PC" back when I was 11. It was an old Pentium 2 pc with an 8MB ATI graphics chip.
You still need at least £600 for something that can handle the most recent games at 1080p and a solid 60FPS, and only because developers are finally beginning to shift from using dual core CPU's.

There's some hints flowing and fable coming on pc could be an indication. One can only hope :) and we shall know before FM6 release. If not than I will have to risk with a thrustmaster TX...

If FM6 doesnt release on pc, then I will be buying another TX wheel myself. As much as I enjoy my G27 on pc, its not Xbox compatible. It is a real shame though, as it is an awesome wheel. Will be honest though, I only bought the G27 because it was £150 brand new back in November.

You had a TX and sold it?

No, I had a TX and it broke after 6 months. Thrustmaster refused to do anything at first, and told me to go to Amazon where I purchased the wheel from. I got uk trading standards involved after that. I contacted Amazon, and they sent me a replacement which was DOA (dead on arrival), and I got a full refund after that as Amazon didn't have any more in stock. Then after all of that, and I assume after Trading standards spoke to Thrustmaster; they offered to repair my TX wheel. Which had already gone back to Amazon by that point. Basically, I had a bad experience with regards to Thrustmaster.

Yes Thrustmaster TX is a great wheel but very very unreliable. Microsoft shot themselves in the foot with limiting so much our wheel options. They lost hundreds or possibly thousands potential buyers who did not buy an Xbox One because they didn't want to change their wheel (which doubles the cost). I on the other hand, sold my G27 setup, but the unreliability of the TX has stopped me from getting the Xbox One and the TM TX. I do not want to play with a gamepad. Fanatec wheel for Xbox One is too expensive and the Madcatz is expensive and very bad performance also.

Spencer was asked about a pc port of forza:
"There isn't a tremendous request today for racing games like Forza on PC," says Spencer. "Obviously through the streaming we showed in January you'll be able to play on any of the PCs you have in your home. I don't want to build things because you can build them, I want to build things that our customers are asking for.

:guilty:

I think there's no demand for it because no one believes there's ever going to be a forza/gt port on the pc. Pc players have no alternative to that (that is worthy).

The thing with PC gamers is they are usually die hards/hardcore guys so a car collecting game probably doesn't hold much interest. Those guys want to get on the racetrack and have great races something you cannot do with Forza/GT games.

How about the fans to whom the XBone is an expensive brick for playing nothing but Forza games? What about people who love Assetto Corsa, which hasn't really been feature-complete as a motorsports simulation (as far as I'm aware) and sports popular roadcars among its car list? How many times have I seen the question, "is there anything like GT/Forza on PC?"

They're just protecting the Xbox, as others above said they would.

@ Wolf
It doesn't matter how many times we have seen request of a forza port, because the number has to be much bigger to be an worthwhile option. I see people saying that they would sell more copies of forza all the time, but those people forget that they get additional money from royalties and gold subscribers on xbox. Microsoft just does what makes them the most amount of money in my opinion.

I hope Forza 6 is more like Forza 4. Forza 5 doesn't really feel like a Forza game anymore (fun factor and music, though I kinda like the music to be honest). I think the problem with Forza 5 it tried to take itself too seriously after many playing it for awhile, whereas Forza 4 never did. It took out too much contant that made Forza 4 really good. However, I accept what T10 did for Forza 5 because they had to build the game from the ground up for next gen, but sadly it was rushed to be a launch title.

I really hope Forza 6 gets that feeling like the classic Forzas again, because last night I've played FM4 and FM3 for a bit (despite them being easy to play now, hehe) and can't help but feel sad that Forza 5 lost it. :(

I thought the music was the worst i had heard in a racing title ever and was not alone, The official forums were awash with posts on how bad the music was! Going from GT5's uptempo DnB to Forza 6's soundtrack was soul destroying. Had to turn it off after a week. I hope they do something similar as H & H2 for the menu's only and get people like toddla t and rob da bank on board.

I personally don't think it's lost anything character wise, perhaps the content makes the experience a tad more empty.

Agreed. The music in FM5 was kinda okay (trying something new), but it didn't really suit the franchise's style. ^^' I see Forza as a game filled with lots of rock, indie and DnB music. Maybe that's I love the music in FH2, especially the Hospital Records and XS (Horizon Rocks). :D I hope in FM6 T10 goes back to having music like FM4 and the classic Forzas, that'll be awesome.

That. And because it felt alittle too hard imo. It should be like FM4 again how it was more easier, such as gaining lots of cr. quicker and giving you options to change this and that.

There is a niche community on PC that play sim racing games and only a percentage of that community would play Forza.

The biggest problem on PC is that Forza is a game that requires a wheel or controller and it makes the point of entry on the game twice the price. So add in the small percentage of people that would actually buy it and actually have controllers to play it... it's hard to say it's worth porting one of their big console exclusives to PC.

There are certainly ALOT of people on PC that have controllers hooked up to their PCs. Many games already benefit from a controller. In some cases games that are better with Keyboard and Mouse still get played with a controller (hooked up to a TV).

I also think you're wrong about the game only being played by sim racers. I'd imagine people that play Grid and Dirt would also play Forza. Also plenty of people that play NFS would probably play Forza as well.
