Koenigsegg Jesko at Turn 10, with maybe some influencers too?

Yeah, a Lego expansion would be super lame. Don't get wrong, Lego is my childhood and I even got back into it with the Technic 911 GT3 RS. But I can't for the life of me fathom why I would want a virtual one when I could use the actual car in game.

LEGO is exciting to me, because it's not clear exactly where they could go with it. Imagine if they just let you build your own car from LEGO blocks?

Holy ****, I just hyped myself up with that, haha.

EDIT: The more I think about it, that's totally what it's going to be, isn't it? Imagine good feeling online racing, where everyone BUILT THEIR OWN LEGO CARS. That sounds awesome.

If the expansion is over the top, I want to be able to avoid it entirely when I'm not in the mood. So I hope, like Hot Wheels, it adds things in a parallel dimension, so to speak.

In the end though, I want this expansion to contain a nice selection of the most requested cars. That's what I'm most interested in.

I can see it happening but I sure hope Playground Games are ready for the backlash if that's true.

Think about it; the expansion is making its debut at E3 and LEGO is somewhere in the top 100 most valuable brands in the world. If you are going to showcase DLC at the world's biggest gaming stage, it might as well be with a renowned partner on board which gains plenty of appeal from the casual audience.

Best case scenario is that this expansion enables highly customisable features both in terms on vehicles and environment. Worst case scenario... Hot Wheels V2?

The fact that Ultimate Edition buyers were encouraged to pre-purchase two discounted but unannounced expansions give me a bad feeling that Playground Games will dare to release something experimental and divisive this time. I mean, they already got our money to do as they please.

Just look how the FM7 Car Pass was extended and then Barrett Jackson happened. :irked:

People bought and paid for the Car Pass. All the cars in the Car Pass were delivered. Then they announced they would extend it and delivered two more DLC packs for free. Just because you didn't like one of those packs doesn't mean T10 did anything wrong.

Maybe for an actual Lego Racing Game, but I wouldn't want that in a Forza game. Even Horizon.
For one reason, they would be BLOCKY! I don't want to race a blocky variant of a car, I want to race the real thing only.

Well its bittersweet them bringing back the Rebel and Dino. I would have loved to have had them when the map was still fresh and would have used them loads, they'll probably not see much use now as the game gets stale. I don't think the cars that have been held back are that great of an incentive to play over new cars, especially when they've appeared in two recent games in just three years, or the first 6 months of this game is the only time they haven't been in a Forza.

The funny thing is I was just thinking how its a shame the Fiat isn't in FH4 after watching the Italian Job on Friday (the mafia boss is driven around in a Dino Coupe).

Well that's just it. We don't know if it's actually Lego, and even if it is, we don't know how they plan to implement it. I'll wait for the announcement and gameplay trailers before I form an opinion.

I didn't say they did anything wrong - at least not objectively speaking. My point essentially was that there are previous examples of season pass DLC that ended up catering to a niche audience. So it can happen again.

Fair enough. And I'm not saying you should have loved every single car of every single DLC. It's impossible for T10 or PG to make everyone happy every time. But I'm of the opinion that every DLC was a good faith effort to deliver interesting content.

There's one reason why I think it won't be LEGO. It's a company which appears to be rather strict about its own universe in the sense that everything is made of LEGO. This vision would fall apart in Forza because it would depend on the precondition that +500 accurately modelled cars should be drivable on a possible LEGO map and vice versa with possible LEGO cars driving on the two existing FH4 maps. I feel like the whole idea would undermine what LEGO stands for. It's probably also why LEGO has marketed their very own video games over the years.

That's an oddly negative way to frame Microsoft deciding to include the expansions "for free" with the Ultimate Edition this time around. Especially when the Hot Wheels expansion was also divisive when announced, then lots of people ended up loving it.

If anything, it'd probably be cheaper for them to just put out another "traditional" expansion.
