Oh that's a shame I just got on and was hoping to play for a couple of hours once I finished the update. :grumpy:

Guys guys guys!!!!!! Check this out!!!!

Ooh neat, a Bronco with convertible option! 🤩👍

My initial impressions after checking out the update quickly:

* Under car pass the new Golf R is from the year 2021 which is clearly a bug. This is the Mk 7.5 faceliftEd Golf R from 2019-ish. Not the new Mk8 Golf R.

1643748670502.png

* I got just over 1000 FP refunded, it seems the majority of those came from FE cars that were completely stripped down. Some FE cars also just lost a few tiles. Some are just bizarre, like I could reuse a super wheelspin on my BMW X5M FE? I wonder what on earth was there before the patch that was exploitative then.

1643748388528.png

* The patch notes mentioned something about new Event Lab options for the 2020 decade as well as Chinese cars. I did find the 2020 decade there but on the next page for country selection there is nothing for Chinese. @ManteoMax i guess that one didn’t make it in?

1643748550040.png

* Sadly the 1995 Audi RS2 Avant is still called “Avant RS2” and the following annoying bug stil isn‘t fixed. 😞

The Cinque sounds fantastic now. The Mercedes V12 is still a little off as the high-pitched scream isn't there in the higher RPM ranges, but listen to me: we're the only kind of people that'll call that out.

It sounds amazing in the lower ranges and in-gear. The resonance is just never going to be there unless they're able to run the thing ragged, so...I'll take this.

Wow, got more than 500 points back. I never even grinded for anything like that, they must have overhauled car mastery trees completely for a lot of cars

I actually think it might be some sort of a request by Audi to change its name, just like the GT86 is now called just the 86.

The recent hot wheels model is called Avant RS2 and a few real ones that have been sold recently were named like that too.

The unattainable S2 Horizon Tour Accolade is still there, and the Win 25 Horizon Open Accolade still doesn't track.

Annoyingly I won a Horizon Open Team Playground Games earlier - destroyed the opponents in two rounds of Zombies and Flag Rush - and didn't get the Seasonal Challenge for it :grumpy:

🤔 Hmmm, you could be onto something there. I remember Audi can be really picky when it comes down to how their cars appear in games. @PJTierney isn’t there an older Dirt game where every car brand‘s car could be painted except for Audi?

By the way the 86 is still called GT86. It just depends what region you are in. From Wikipedia:

For the first-generation model, Toyota marketed the sports car as the 86 in Asia, Australia, North America (from August 2016), South Africa, and South America;[2] as the Toyota GT86 in Europe; as the 86 and GT86 in New Zealand; as the Toyota FT86 in Brunei, Nicaragua and Jamaica and as the Scion FR-S (2012–2016) in the United States and Canada.[3][4] The second-generation model is marketed by Toyota as the GR86 as a reference to its Gazoo Racing division.[5]

But quite funny, the particular car in FH5 is right hand drive and has its dash in mph. I think that means the car scanned for Forza came from the UK, unless there is another country that uses that combination. So according to Wikipedia the car we have in-game should still be named a GT86. ☺️ If the dashboard was in km/h (JDM version of the car) then it was indeed an 86.

For the record, the Subaru BRZ in FH5 is LHD and mph so that’s from the USDM I suppose.
The Scion FR-S from FH1 is LHD and its dash is primary mph, secondary in km/h. And yes I booted up FH1 especially to check that. 😆

edit - I wanted to check on Toyota.co.uk how they call it there but it‘s not listed under new cars anymore. The search filter for used cars still lists GT86 though, so that corresponds with the Wikipedia info.

You should try the Porsche 918 Spyder next. It sounds very different now.

Are any of the Chinese cars in the game yet (not counting A.I.)? Could be that it doesn't show until the cars are accessible to the player.

I was just saying in my opinion, If I was to invest in an expensive console and roster of games I personally would want the whole experience. Rather than a game with things greyed out and out of reach.
That's precisely what's bothersome to those who don't like Gold/Plus requirements that extend beyond access to online multiplayer. :P

Not everyone gets to invest in a console after going all-cards-in on everything in their life. If Gold or Plus is not good value for money, even if it's less than a cheeseburger per month, making decisions to cut things like that out of your life are how one can afford a console in the first place.

Some brands are (understandably) extremely protective of their iconic historic cars, which is why they either can't be painted by the player, or they'll only ever appear in promotional material with the official design.

Not commenting on any one brand in particular here, just generalising.

Irrationally so. Such decisions are not grounded in reality or coherent logic, and their fickleness is evidence.

I'm real, real tired of it. Manufacturers are balking at a preservation of the histories of their companies' work by wringing hands and wrapping red tape over superficialities, and it's god-damned stupid.

I didn't have any disconnection problems by the time I got on thankfully. On PC (Steam) Menu's seem very much improved, Very quick and snappy. When you change parts in the upgrade shop the engine/Exhaust note updates instantly finally. 😃

Happy with the update so far.

I was having serious disconnect problems with the new update this morning. Then I went to the local Rite-Aid and got my Covid booster shot. When I got home, the disconnect problems had disappeared. The booster shot solved the disconnect problem!

We finally completed the KudosPrime Mastery Tree database yesterday. 100%. All cars. YESTERDAY

Looking for a rope right now...

I checked out the Bronco and didn't know you could do that removable roof trick (albeit via Forzavista and not an actual upgrade) -- any other surprises in there as far as visual customization? I remember that somewhere in one of the FH4 updates they just added a new widebody kit for the Mini out of nowhere, so I'm curious if PG is still doing that kind of stealth add-on thing.

On the topic of car sounds, what’s everyone‘s favourite car sound in FH5?

My top 3 so far of the cars I remember sounding great (driving from cockpit view and manual shifting):

1) 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 (with the StreetHunter widebody S1 900 upgrade hero preset applied).
=> That car sounds absolutely amazing and so totally different from the stock C8. Sounds especially great when you’re in high gear & low rpm and then increase power. Reminds me about GTE race car sounds.

2) 1969 Lola T70 (stock)
=> sounds amazing when you constantly toggle between gently apply throttle and letting the car coast for a bit. Pure eargasm!

3) 1970 GMC Jimmy (stock)
=> Love that very deep and detailed rumble of the engine, it sounds so calming in a way.

I’ll give a few runner ups as well :
  • 2017 Ford Ultra4 Bronco RTR (sounds truly amazing in low rpms, so sad it only has 3 gears)
  • 2019 Rimac Concept Two (yep that’s right, it’s an electric car, give it a try before you dismiss it, it has surprisingly rich sounds)
  • 1967 Ford Racing Escort Mk1
  • 1966 Jaguar XJ13
  • 1985 Porsche 959 rally raid

So now that they've basically killed car mastery farming, increasing the grind (sigh), what is the best method for some credits, I wonder? Apart from the Auction House, I'd say it's racing on the freeway.

Was it updated again today? Because if you mean it's previous update, I've already taken it for several spins. 👍
Ohh. o.o Ahhh... >.> I knew that, hahaha! 😅

That's a very good question actually. There's so much to name, but the most I adore is the 1991 Jaguar XJR-15. OMG it sounds so good and nostalgic! :embarrassed: Oh oh, and the 2010 Lamborghini Murcielago SV. I LOVE its engine and shifting sounds! I also can't forget about the Rotory sounds. WOW!! And the boxer engines and so forth. There's just so much I love! :D

Perhaps it is an anti-clipping measure on some cars, but they seem to have ruined the Work X Concept GT5 model with this update.
This new model has noticeably shallower concaves and shorter spokes than the previous wheels.
This is a shame because I loved these wheels and this change is a shame.

Finding out what country the cars are scanned can be determined by:
  • Different bumpers fit for specific regions.
  • Having North American amber bumper markers or not.
  • LHD or RHD.
  • KM/H or MPH.
  • Name of vehicle, as some cars have different names in different regions.

Hmm... now I'm seeing Toyota Tacoma badges in the badge files.

Now, which one will we get?
A Tacoma like the monster truck from Arctic Trucks would be cool, but personally, I would want a stock Tacoma.
Because Forza already has a lot of pickups, but a pure factory stock production model japanese pickup doesn't exist in the FH5.

From the wheel texture leaks, it will most likely be the TRD Pro

New:
AUD_RS3Sedan_20

New (but likely not for FH5):
LYN_62_03TCR_20
MOS_00_MT900GT3_06

Already known, but now have wheel textures, and are likely getting closer to release:
AUD_RS4Avant_18
AUD_RS5_18
BMW_M8_20
FOR_SVTLightning_03
MIN_JCWGP_21
TOY_4RunnerTRDPro_19
TOY_TacomaTRDPro_19
TOY_TundraTRDPro_20
You'd be right
