Sounds like the last minute negotiations to get the Italdesign in the game fell through. Explains why they never released a photo of it or showed it in gameplay.
Either that, or there's been a mix-up with the marketing department. There's usually at least one car per Expansion Pass that never shows up in promo material.

Pretty psyched over a few different reveals (like the '68 Barracuda), but I have to admit the part that made me the happiest was the reveal that the Peel Trident is back as a seasonal reward. I missed it the first time and the spot where it should be in my collection is just sitting there, taunting me.

While it's disappointing we're not getting the DaVinci (it looked super interesting to me), please let the 962CR be the concept version and not the production model. If it's the latter, may as well have hunted down Dauer and used theirs. At least the rear end is a bit more unique.

But that's just me being a car weirdo.
According the leaks, this is the one we're getting:

Honestly, I'm more happy about finally getting the 962CR, compared to the DaVinci.

I personally like the last 3 car pass selections, Especially the DBX. The Schuppan instead of the DaVinci is great news too.

The proto looks great, It's a clever look, very unmistakably porsche.

But I have to prefer the Production one with the proper 962C Headlights and front end personally. 😍

That's the production model, darnit.
This.

I really was hoping for the prototype car.
I liked it for how it looked to me like a wider Porsche 959 from the front.

It's still a cool addition though. Even though I'm probably not going to drive it, I keep neglecting this game and already missed out on a lot of new cars including the Ferrari SF90 and F8 Tributo. I just haven't had an interest to do the playlists.

I usually have a good time with these but I can't even finish this one
I have an AWD Sierra which does the job just fine. Just power through the loop, then back off and take a hard left onto the purple section for the "shortcut". There's a nasty transition (orange onto blue) late in the lap to watch out for.

The version with Schuppan bodywork (959 style round headlights) is the production model, all of the finished customer cars looked like that I believe. The black one is just one particular chassis which has at some point been fitted with bits of replica Porsche bodywork and doesn't seem to have the standard engine either - I believe it's one of the two cars that were never finished when Schuppan folded, as it never ran until the 2010s.

One of the other cars has also been rebodied as a Porsche 962 clone in Japan, with a copy of the Rothmans livery, so there are possibly as few as two or three cars with the proper Schuppan bodywork left. It's still weird to replicate one specific modified car rather than a standard one though - imagine if they'd done some random guy's tuned Celica instead of a stock one.

It's been a while and I thought I may have confused the two. Are you saying that's the case, or are you unsure?

Speaking of Accolades, I've just caught my Accolade Points in the act of changing...

They appeared to be increasing without any change in the numbers of Accolades I'd earned, but I wasn't sure. So I took a screenshot and...
I noticed that too. I got 1000 points yesterday for completing the weekly Forzathon. 250 points for each chapter. I wonder if you are also getting those points for the weekly and is affecting the majority of players.

Anyway the accolade leaderboard is still changing a lot. Some that were near me and in the top 40 just a few months ago are now out of top 100 and even top 200. It could be that something else is giving free accolade points too.

My method was to let the AI fall off first, then turn around as you approach the start of the helix, get a run up and jump to the other side to the shortcut Famine mentioned. Some abuse of the rewind was necessary.

As far as I'm aware the 962CR prototype (chassis 001) didn't have any major external differences to the production cars (002 through 004). Chassis 005 and 006 were left uncompleted when the orders for them fell through back in 1994, with this black car being based on what existed of 006.

I can't say anything for sure because Schuppan may genuinely have decided to do something weird just before their bankruptcy, but I've never seen another 962CR using a Porsche front end, and that black car only showed up in public for the first time in 2014. To the best of my knowledge it was never intended to look that way - Schuppan didn't even use a Porsche chassis for the 962CR, having Reynard build similar tubs from scratch, so restyling the car to use an ill-fitting front end donated from another car would be weirdly out of character. On the other hand, finding new Schuppan bodywork for a car that was never completed would be literally impossible, so putting on whatever panels could be made to fit is much easier.

Obviously the owner is never going to describe the car as an unofficial build, but just the fact that it's being listed as a Porsche hints at what a hybrid it is - Porsche mechanicals and front bodywork mated to a Schuppan chassis and rear bodywork that were never finished in period. I'm expecting the car in the game to use the 850hp tuned Porsche 3.2 from this car rather than the 600hp Schuppan-spec 3.3 too.

Giant Canyons sounds a lot like Nurse Gladys Emmanuel to me 🤔

You can't beat a good few minutes of the good nurse Gladys leaning out her window....😜😜

N-n-n-nurse Emmanuel did you say?

Edit - Short gameplay footage from DJS video just posted, Also points out some other details.

Arkwright isn't waiting until 19 July for his DLC...
I feel like I started something here... 😆
Imagine those Grand Canyons in 4k next month 🤔 (might need 8K to fit Nurse Gladys on the screen ...!)

@Famine Fetch your cloth!

I'd pay for that in 4K wide-screen at 120fps (I don't want any motion blur on those canyons).

Since we are getting the 1970 Dodge Cornett Super Bee in the next update it is a real, good chance that the 1971 Plymouth GTX 426 HEMI will show up eventually also. Still hope the 1958 Plymouth Fury will be back eventually also.
You can't go wrong with some classic Mopar muscle.

I did the Eventlab last night. I wholeheartedly agree with the comments on here, it's bloody awful. Terrible track, terrible choice of car and the fact the AI can't finish the lap is ridiculous.
I honestly thought it was going to be a good replica of one of the RR tracks, but when I saw it was from Nick I was like "Oh God..."

Don't hate me, I like enjoy his car and Event reviews, but he should keep his own creations to himself sometimes...
