Actually, I must've been wrong on the Maple Valley short one. I just manage to do a low 44 in the Scion tC as well as 914/6 (both Class D), so my time is about 2 seconds off the #1 pace, pretty good I suppose. It looks like I won't be attempting to get into top 100 on any scoreboard anytime soon though.

You CAN actually look left-right with the wheel - go to options, wheel set-up and pick-up cpnfiguration 4 - I think. Left-right will be on the B-X buttons (does anyone even looks into options screens these days...?).

How do you compare your times with the score-boards. after I finish the race, it always updating scoreboard or something, but I've never really bothered to check or compare yet (coz i prolly dont know where to go, to check the top 10 times right there)..
I went Multiplayer, Scoreboards, then respective class and track and just compared my time (from memory) to the top times. I would consider anything within 2-3 seconds very good (coming from Live For Speed here where if you put a lap 2 seconds within the world record, it's usually a very good time).

It looks like there is far too much discrepancy between cars performance in the same class even if you have a very good car, so no use comparing, and as McLaren said, glitching/cheating of some sort is somewhat possible too.

I downloaded the demo (took 2 hours!) and at first I really didn't like it. I was swerving all over the track (STM off) and I just couldn't believe how instantly ugly it looked. Now, I've got used to it a lot, put STM back on, as that safety net suits my looser driving style and grown to appreciate the graphics subtlety. Just had a great dice in the Type R, overtaking an E36 M3 on the outside before tucking in-front on the racing line of the next corner and bringing it home first. The 360 has been dying for this sort of racing experience, imho.

Nice one, I only saw configuration two and figured I'd have to be auto with the wheel to look left and right. There's no option for the handbrake and damage but I'll take it, cheers.

Anyone else qualify for the tournaments that were up? Quite a few were competing for the Corvette at Sebring one, the D class was at Tsukuba. Would be cool to see others here on Forza TV!

Yeah, it's annoying that there is still that difference in times, although at least it isn't as bad as Forza 1 (CRX and 355 anyone?) - I was trying to get another car into the D class tourney apart from the Elan, MR-S or Treuno, even a de-classed Cupra. I hate the option that you can lock the setups now, I like seeing what the top 10 drivers are upgrading with and their differences in tuning.

Also, about my earlier post about times with the wheel, for a more visual description check out the Z06 time on Sebring A class (name:Bearot) for one of the fastest times set with the wheel and see the difference.

The Tournaments are still kind of broken. I qualified for the R4 race on Laguna Seca, but somehow, the races when on without me... never got a notice or anything.

And i find it sucks a lot that you can't setup your own competition for your friends. Basically, with all the 'next-gen' and 'Internet support' stuff, we still can't have a personalized scoreboard and private tournaments... go figure.

OMG the Corvette races are still EFFING HARD. I eventually gave in and turn the AI down to easy after about 6 attempts at the last race on Road Atlanta.

talking of championships and competitions, i've been mulling over whether I should do some sort of Forza 2 series based around something like the FIA GT3 series in the future. Anyone has any thoughts on that, they're free to post. I just thought that with the added online play, a race series would be warmly welcomed

Also, maybe the Forza 2 sub-section should have it's own race series sub-sub-section, a dedicated place for people to set up race series and championships as well as seperate online races. just a thought.

I just drove 2 laps in the Porsche 962 around the Nordschleife in the time trial challenge. It looks like the best anyone has done is 6:16. I guess the record by Stefan Bellof of 6:11 is unbeatable (in a similar car anyway, theres like 3 or 4 people who've done 6:09 or so in the Ferrari 333).

I was getting a bit upset as well. My best solution is to just get the Lingenfelter and turn on all the aids. Its the only way you go without spinning out of control.

...Although, I've yet to finish the series. My patience had been wearing thin by that time last night...

Have any of you compared your times with the scoreboards? I'm nowhere near the top 10 times. There must be a big discrepancy between cars in the same class, because I'm way off the pace.

The highest score I can recall seeing was a 496, I think on the second or third time-trial race. I'm always happy when I crack the top 1000 on most tracks, and anything below 500 I call quite good.

Overall, I'm loving the game.

...We should all try to get together one of these days and play together...

I used the Lingenfelter with TCS and a racing suspension. I raised the ride height and softened the springs, and then tried to cruise around the track.

The Lingenfelter isn't really too hard to control, but you'd be better off modding the living crap out of a C6 ZO6. Or you could attempt to buy a racing car of the AH.

i remember the corvette races in FM1. i ended up trying like 20 times to beat the lingenfelter with the gold guldstrand corvette. i even let my drivatar have a go, but he always left his braking late at brooklands on silverstone club and messed it up  i did eventually win of course.

i'll never forget the condition my forza 1 disk was in when i'd finished with the game. i could never load new york or mple valley. in fact, when in track selection, it would always freeze at maple valley!

i don't see why for modern games, all disks are scratch-proof. but then again, the game companies get more sales when someone has to buy a new copy of the game because it got chewed up and badly scratched by their 360.

scratched disks = more sales = more money for game companies i suppose.

Just as an FYI, Blu-ray discs use a special coating that lets you scratch the disc with steel wool and it'll still work perfectly.

thanks for the info Duck. my post was mainly about X360 disks, but i failed to point that out.

but what puzzles me now is, if the maker's of blu-ray games and dvds can use scratch-proofing, when why can't the 360 makers do it? guess they don't want to stretch their budgets just that little bit more for increased customer satifaction. not that's i'm saying people aren't satisfied with what they're using. All i'm saying is that by maybe using scratch-proofing on 360 disks, then owners would give better feedback, if you get what i'm saying.

That's what I did. Full weight reduction, slicks, aftermarket wheels, racing intake, exhaust, ignition, and fuel system, and Forza front bumper for adjustable downforce, as well as all driveline improvements. I was so mad after those races, I sold the Z06.

There was some good racing in the D-class tourneys yesterday, two of my friends were in there but unfortunately came last in their brackets :(

I'm gonna be in the Gold bracket for the Forza Race Weekend tournament which I think is this weekend, although I might not be there in the end since I'm at Silverstone early on Saturday/Sunday (check avatar ;))

I remember the Corvette race in FM1. Haven't gotten to it in FM2, but what you have to do is this:

- get a C6 Z06 (in FM1 was just a C6)
- mod the hell out of it I suppose
- don't get too big of a turbo so that it doesn't have turbo lag (I think I got a supercharger in FM1, not sure)

Is there a list of the cars you get for every 5 levels in each of the regions?

I was checking at which level certain European cars are unlocked at and I accidentally bought the AWE Audi S4. :dunce:
I had to sell it for half price. :ouch:

hahahahahahaha omg....What's turn10 gonna say? Can they sue for steaing intlectual property or something?

and $20!!!!!!!who does he think he is, it's only a TK R34 lol.

youve just made my day lol:D

omg.....i just scrolled down.....

IT HAS 2 BIDS!!!!!!!!

someone is willing to pau US$20 for a forza 2 car!!!not even dlc

that's sad...:(

That second auction lists the UPC and stuff for Forza 2, as if he were actually selling the game. Anyone feel like reporting these to Turn10/MS Game Studios?

I think it's sad someone is willing to pay $20 for that one car. If I play for another 4-5 hours, I will have more than enough money to buy the car and all those upgrades myself.

Wonder when MS will come in and state they own the copyrights, etc. Blizzard did the same I thought with Diablo II and Sony with EQ.

Still, people paying money for in game cars... seriously, how hard can it be to sit down and win these?
